Danner is going home tomorrow and we are really going to miss him! He is so easy going and falls right into our routine, we love having him stay with us. ❤️

If you have any interest in learning about Weaver and her dog reactivity journey, check the link in my bio :)
Decided to re-introduce myself on YouTube! Link is in my bio :)
When someone tells me they are worried that their dog will think they are the ones ‘in charge’, I remind them of the hierarchy that takes places in my household… 😂❤️🐈⬛
I’d say Lucy is happy to see me! 😂😍❤️
Murphy is the king of the head tilt, especially when hearing about the plan for the day. The word “cheese” sends him over the edge though. 😂🐾
This moment was too sweet to not live on here permanently. Weaver has a strong desire to chase small fuzzy things, so I give her an appropriate outlet to do so - a flirt pole (a pole + strong + fuzzy toy at the end). This morning, we were working on her controlling her impulses around the toy, only going after it when allowed and releasing it when asked. Then a real life furry temptation ran along our fence and she had a choice to make - do I go after the squirrel, or reengage for a chance to play? She chose to check in with me for guidance, and I reinforced that choice with a game of chase. You can see multiple times throughout the remainder of the video, she weighs her options when she looks and the squirrel again, trying to decide if she should chase it (the little punk just sat on the fence laughing at her! 🐿️) or not. Impulse control exercises are important - they teach our dogs to pause and think for a moment. Whether it be at the front door, getting out of the car, or just playing in your backyard, there are lots of ways to build impulse control into your practice. It pays off!

Monday morning tricks class at Good Choice Dog Training- everyone successfully earned their AKC Novice trick titles!
Murphy and I are just over halfway done with the Karen Pryor Academy professional dog training course, and I thought I’d share a clip from our morning routine. It feels as though for my entire life I have been trying to figure out how to communicate with dogs effectively, without any negative barriers between us. This course has given me the skills to do just that, and I am so excited to use them in the real world. But for now, I flow with my precious dog, who is ever patient and forgiving. He lets me click too soon or too early and fumble with treats, he lets me get confused and helps me work through obstacles. And the best part? He has nothing to fear while training. He can make mistakes and work through challenges on his own time, and I am here to help him grow and evolve, not critique or punish. We are on an even playing field of building new skills with no pressure, and as a result, our partnership has grown exponentially in the last few months. We focus on the good in each other. We can communicate easily and his tail wags the entire time. I hope to share more with you soon as we progress to our final assessment in a couple of months! #karenpryor #karenpryoracademy @clickertraining
