Today the Crossroads Rabbit and Cavy Shows and MARCS committees have some news to share.
We were notified that the Kentucky Expo Center needed to move our event as another event is using a clause in their contract that supersedes our contract. The new dates for the 2023 ARBA Convention will be Oct. 7 to 11.
This situation is completely outside of our control. We ask that nobody calls the hotel at this time. The hotel will cancel all of the rooms in the block starting Thursday January 12th. We will have information about rebooking through the block very soon but ask that no one contacts the hotel until we provide a rebooking link and to use that link to rebook.
Vendors and specialty clubs will receive an email with additional information. We want to thank the ARBA Board for working with us during this situation and all of our vendors, specialty clubs and exhibitors for their understanding.
No matter when this event is held our group is looking forward to organizing an amazing event to honor 100 years of the ARBA.
Feel free to send us a private message with any questions.

As of April 8th, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) has officially entered Montana. HPAI affects wild birds and domestic poultry. Reduce wild bird access to food and water sources for your domestic poultry to minimize spread potential.

As of now, there are three reported cases of HPAI:
► 4/7/2022 – Judith Basin, MT – Backyard Flock (15)
► 4/8/2022 – Cascade County, MT – Small Commercial (22,000)
► 4/12/2022 - Toole County, MT – Backyard Flock (21)

There are currently no reported cases of HPAI in Yellowstone County and no reported cases of HPAI in wild birds in Montana. We will try and post weekly updates as this continues.

TO REPORT SICK BIRDS (wild and domestic) CALL YOUR LOCAL VET OR MONTANA DEPARTMENT OF LIVESTOCK DIRECTLY AT (406) 444-2976.

•Saturated Fat: 0.9 g 4%
•Polyunsaturated Fat: 0.6 g
•Monosaturated Fat: 0.8 g

•Total Carbohydrate: 0 g 0%
•Dietary Fiber: 0 g 0%

•Protein: 28 g 56%

•Cobalamin 91%
•Vitamin C 0%
•Iron 22%
•Vitamin B6 15%
•Magnesium 6%

These percentage values are all based on a 2,000 calorie diet.
Because of rabbit meat’s classification as game meat, you may not know much about its health benefits. To fully understand the benefits of rabbit, it is helpful to compare its nutritional value to other meats, like chicken or beef. Rabbit has the highest percentage of digestible proteins compared to other meats while also having the lowest amount of fat. Despite the low amount of fat, rabbit is still rich in healthy fats like polyunsaturated fats and monounsaturated fats. Domesticated rabbit meat also has fewer calories than chicken and has less cholesterol than any other commonly consumed meats, like beef, pork, and chicken.
