Prayers and Donations needed for this sweet baby! We have very graphic pics of when we received him, but afraid FB will delete post. Basically, his tail was ripped off and was found with multiple open wounds with maggots inside and outside of him. Our loving foster and Oak Tree Animal Clinic (We love our Dr. Christine!) have done miracles. We are hoping once the wounds are healed that they can do a graph or try to repair the damage. We are so proud of our little bat Jake and he just keeps purring away no matter what! Here's his story and a video on what a little champ he is....
Jake aka Little Bat was found in a yard in Senatobia Mississippi. We don't really know what happened to him to cause his injuries, but this little guy did not have a great first few weeks of living on his own. He was found extremely emaciated with a wound that looked like his tail was ripped off. The wound was severely infected and was covered with maggots. No one was sure if this guy would make it. The vet gave him an enema due to being impacted by rocks. Poor guy was eating rocks and dirt to survive. New Beginnings Animal Rescue has done a wonderful job giving this sweet kitten a chance! After almost 3 weeks, he is growing, gaining weight, and healing! He still has a long road ahead of him as he continues on antibiotics, pain medication, and any surgeries that may have to be done to the exposed bone from where his tail should be. He is also completely incontinent as of now. We are hopeful that as he heals, he will gain some control over his bathroom time. For now, look how cute he is in diapers! Please consider donating to New Beginnings Animal Rescue's little bat Jake!
