Benicio x Quaterhall 2 year old Gelding.

No need to import from Germany when this boy is in our backyard with 2 German parents.

Beau is the full package. He not only has the conformation and paces that will make him extremely competitive through the levels, but he has the most outstanding trainable, friendly temperament.

Since Beau was a baby he's been an absolute pleasure to do everything with:
✨️ Picking up his feet for myself and the farrier.
✨️ Catching, leading & tying up.
✨️ Being washed and brushed.
✨️ Groundwork patterns
✨️ Rugging
✨️ Vaccinations, worming etc.

Nothing is an issue for this boy. In fact, he's so easygoing that my non horsey partner is able to, and regularly does, everything with him.

His sire, Benicio needs no introduction. His progeny are known for their exceptional temperaments and rideability.

Benicios' achievements include:
🏆 Perfect 10's for walk, trot & canter in his stallion performance test with a final score of 9.88 and is the highest score ever in a stallion test (record previously held by his sire Bellissimo M).
🏆 Winner of the 6 year old class at the Bundeschampionate in 2011.
🏆 Competed successfully at Grand Prix Level.
🏆 Consistently passes on his rideability, character, temperament and willingness to perform to his offspring & has sired 35 licenced sons.

I imported his dam, my Quaterhall (Quaterback x Donnerhall) mare, from Germany and trained her to advanced level.

This sale is an incredibly tough decision due to personal circumstances, as I would have loved to have kept Beau for myself.

I have no doubts that this is going to be an extremely exciting horse for the future.

He's got the biggest heart and absolutely loves people and other horses, but he's secure enough in his own self to be able to hang out alone. I've had him paddocked out of view of other horses and he's not even bat an eye.

Beau is just as happy to be in the stable as he is to be in the paddock, with or without other horses around and always comes to greet you when you when you're hanging around the stables.

He's genuinely just an easy, cool dude that I wish I could keep for myself as his exceptional trainability would make him suitable for an amateur while his naturally balanced and swinging paces make him exciting enough for a professional.

I’m not telling you this to brag…

I’m telling you this to let you know that you don’t need to do some jaw-dropping, phenomenal dressage test to score 70%.

If you check out the definitions of each of the dressage scores [swipe], you’ll find that to get a “7” for a movement, it only has to be “quite good”.

𝘈 𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘶𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 “𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥” 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢 𝘴𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 70%.

That is why I’ve been able to score 70% on tests that weren’t anything spectacular, but they were accurate, they flowed & they showed the elements of the Dressage Training Pyramid required for the level “quite well”.

That’s all you need to score 70%.

There's a huge difference between knowing your dressage test & understanding your dressage test.

When you know your test, you know the order of movements that you need to ride.

When you understand your test, you not only know the order of movements, but you know how each of those movements connect.

You know how to make each movement flow out of one another.

An example of this is the lateral movements.

In a test you'll never be asked to show a bending lateral movement like a shoulder in or half pass off a straight line.

The tests are designed so that you'll always ride these movements out of a corner or a volte or another bending lateral movement so that you can use these things to set you up for the movement.

When you understand how the tests work: you can do this.

When you're just riding the movements, then you'll probably miss these little things that make a huge difference in your scores.

This doesn't just apply to the lateral movements btw…

There are so many places in your tests where you'll be able to pick up easy marks just by understanding the tests & how each of the movements work better.

On the way I've been lucky enough to train for 2 years in Germany with Olympic medalists & trainers of Olympic medalists.

Introducing the third & final Guest Coach to The Dressage Dream… Equestrian Mindset Coach ~ Tanja Mitton.

Tanja masterfully combines her experience as an international competitor, her qualifications as a coach & a master NLP ( Neuro-Linguistic Programming) coach to set riders up for successful training & competition.

She works with riders of all levels, from nervous and inexperienced riders to high level professional riders ~ including the EA high performance dressage & para-dressage squads.

“I learned from my own experience that our mind is more powerful than our actions. You achieve what you believe you can and success only comes when you are willing to change.”

It was so important to me to have Tanja be a part of The Dressage Dream, because when I was struggling with extreme competition anxiety as a teenager ~ I worked with Tanja myself. I still carry what I learned from her with me today.

Wishing all of my friends, clients & supporters a very Merry Christmas ✨️

It's been one wild year. This time last year I never would have imagined that I would be home in Queensland with my 3 horses.

Thankyou to everyone here in Queensland & down in the Southern Highlands who have helped me & supported me this year.

I cannot thank my partner Bantray & my parents for being so supportive while I turned our whole worlds upside down.

I'm looking forward to seeing what next year brings as we settle into life back home & continue setting up the property.
