Muscle of the Month

▪Serratus Ventralis▪️
This vital muscle is located in your dogs forelimb. It covers a large portion of your dogs shoulder, over the shoulder blade, and towards your dogs ribs. This muscle has an important role in stability and movement.

The Serratus Ventralis is a muscle in the forelimb, which covers a large area, over the shoulder blade, coming up into the neck, and down into the ribs.

Some of the functions of this muscle is to:
-Raises neck
-Role in Inspiration
-Support the truck
-Anti Gravity muscle
-During movement "assists" in braking

This muscle group is one of my clients favourite spots to be worked.

Hi! I am Sonata Gillmeister owner of Pawsitively Touched . I am a certified + insured Canineology Canine Body Worker trained through the Canadian Institute of Equine & Canine Body Works

Any 30minute sessions you book in June for the rest of the year will only be $25.00🐾

🐕What does the first session look like?

After reviewing your dogs intake form and discussion of goals for your dog. A static and dynamic assessment will be asked of your dog. I will then be doing a gait analysis.
What am I looking for in gait analysis? Stride length, gait speed, gait cycle time, and circumduction.
After these notes, I will do a body work sessions that addresses over 70 different muscles and bony landmarks. During this Exploratory session, I will take note of any irregularities in muscle tone, temperature, texture or tenderness.

Upon completion of the bodywork session, I will email you a written report of my findings and you we can focus on one of the following style of sessions for your dogs subsequent visit. Relaxation, maintenence (very common) targeted area, or Preformance(Sport) session.
