Pawzatively Canine Pawzatively Canine is a 501(c)3 dog rescue placing forgotten and dumped dogs in the AR River Valley. Thank you.

We are volunteers who donate our time to rescue the numerous forgotten, homeless, abandoned, and unwanted puppies and dogs left to fend for themselves in vineyards, the Mulberry and Arkansas river bottoms, cemeteries, and country backroads. Some of our dogs and puppies go onto become canine companions while others become cherished members of a family. Our rescued fur babies get their second chance

**URGENT PLEA FOR SHORT TERM FOSTER(s) for these 3.

We need a safe place for these three to be and are searching for three individuals to step up to help them. We need to address the medical requirements so they can get their freedom ride up north in about five weeks. Can anyone be their hero? Please, we’re begging from the bottom of our hearts.

We currently have over 50 dogs in our care and only six current fosters. We are stretched to the max. I need your help - please - it’s only a couple of weeks commitment. Please message us if you can help. Thank you.

Please share this far and wide. Let’s help them get the life they deserve.

** NOT AVAILABLE- ON MEDICAL HOLD.**

Dale and Sheena saw a box in a parking lot of a closed business and stopped to check it out. They found the box had holes in it and when they opened it, there were four puppies inside. Two had already succumb to the cold and two were barely hanging on. They brought the two survivors to their home and contacted me.

They did a good job of tending to their immediate needs, but one of the puppies has an injured eye.

Both puppies are girls and we’ve named them Snickers and Skittles. Dr. Moon saw them today and is giving us medicine to try to save Skittles eye. Thanks to Dale, Sheena, Paul, Diana, and Dr. Moon for helping us save the lives of these two precious fur babies .🐾🐾

Thank you SADA for the donations. We appreciate your support for our rescue! 🐾🐾

**UPDATE FOSTER SECURED.**

Another human fail! I was contacted by a lady who saw a box in the cold as she passed by an abandoned store. She stopped, opened it up, and found 4 puppies.

She realize two had frozen to death while the other two were in critical condition. She took them to her home and started warming them up and feeding them.

She’s contacted me looking for help. We need a foster to get them to a safe place before we can bring them in to the rescue. Can you help us? all food, and medical needs are provided by us.

Please message us if you can help.

We need your help - correction: They need your help! We need fosters- adopters - or foster to adopt ASAP to continue our rescue efforts for these dogs. (Fosters: We provide all the supplies you need along with any medical needed.)

To assist the numerous dogs and puppies in the Mountainburg situation, we need to do it in phases. This is the 1st phase.

These 3 sweethearts are picked on by some of the older ones. This is not uncommon when you have these many dogs in a group. These 3 are sweet and very friendly and will do well with either an an indoor or outdoor/indoor family.

Tilly and Grady will be the 1st scheduled for spay/neuter to ensure the 'No more unwanted puppies" cycle. Sandy is already spayed.

Please message us on how you can foster or adopt or help in other ways! PLEASE share to help us get the word out. Thank you.

Foster update: Tammy P. Is fostering Nala. From homeless and uncertainty to becoming a dog ready for a family! Great job Tammy.

From Tammy: Nala is doing so good in the house now. She finally got in her crate lastnight and did not have an anxiety attack and yelping trying to get out. I got her sitting, and going out with other dogs to potty. She is so smart. Her coat is starting to take on a more beautiful shine.

Happy Tail update: Cowboy and Lily (formerly Annie) were blessed with their Christmas wish of a family to call their own!

This is why we say fosters save lives! We can always use additional fosters to help rescue more fur babies in need. 🐾

Good snowy afternoon, this is my update on the colony we are calling Don’s Mountainburg Dogs.
First of all let me start with this, thank you to all of you who donated supplies, food, dog houses, straw, shavings and tarps. I really don’t know what we would have done without all of your generosity. We struggle to keep our cupboards filled. I dont know if you all know this but we have another couple of colonies that we have kept fed, spayed and neutered for the past couple of years. It is a popular place for dogs to get dumped.
On Jan 3rd, we picked up donations from Tractor Supply, Walmart, Atwoods, Almost Home and some personal homes. On Jan 4th, Larry and I went to deliver to Don in the Mountainburg area. When we drove up I witnessed several dogs, i will give you the number in a bit, waiting by the truck to greet us. They looked healthy and happy.
In speaking to Don, he said that 2 pregnant females showed up one day and had their babies. He has been trying to get dogs fixed as he can on fixed income. Well, as we all know in rescue and out, that multiplying animals happen and more dumped dogs. As of now he has 11 males and 8 females. Ideally, he would like to find homes for them.
We were able to deliver 7 bags of food, a combination of puppy and adult, 6 bales of straw, 3 bales of shaving and tarps and dog houses. Don showed us what his son in law and daughter were helping him build to keep the pups out of the elements. He was finishing up some pens in a barn to keep them in because of the impending storm. I think they did a good job. He really cares for these dogs but it has gotten out of hand
We ordered more vaccines with some of the cash that was donated, and as soon as this weather and roads are safe, we will vaccinate all of them and at that point take pictures of each one individually.
Our next goal is to spay/neuter the whole colony and helping Don find homes for them. He really should not have to be footing a couple of hundred dollars a month in dog food all because people are irresponsible, but I thank God that these pups were fortunate enough to land on his property, lol, Im sure he doesn’t share the same sentiment.
Again, thank you for the dog houses, cash, food and supplies donation. You are all truly appreciated
This is the pictures of the kennels/pens he was building and our Beverly Hillbilly delivery trailer.

We want our donors to know how grateful we are to each and every one of you! You helped us get the supplies needed for the fur babies before this wintery weather set in. Thank you!

**We are in the process of organizing a spay/neuter plan and fundraiser for all these animals.**

Our Story

We are volunteers who give stray, abandoned, and dumped dogs a new purpose in life by placing them in homes of individuals in need of a canine companion or wanting a loving family companion. Canine Companions, also known as comfort dogs, come to the emotional rescue of people struggling or battling difficulties in their daily life. Our dogs bring love and friendship into the lives of individuals as they work through emotional, mental or physical ailments from brain trauma victims, to cancer survivors, to children with learning disabilities, to adults with PTSD, epilepsy or COPD, widows, and senior citizens; our dogs become an important family member to those in need. Prior to placement our program dogs are evaluated and socialize to properly match a dog, its activity level, and temperament to our placement candidates. All dogs receive any needed veterinarian care including vaccines, spaying or neutering. Our program works hard to ensure this placement is worth the journey that will end in a "Furever Happy Tail".
