We were just visited by the health department for selling raw milk labeled for pet consumption.
A “customer” reported us after asking questions about the milk, leading to its forced disposal.
In Arkansas, the Health Department acts as an enforcement agency. The issue is that it’s heavily influenced by big food companies through lobbying and corporate capture.
Your government believes that as an adult, you are too stupid to make informed decisions about what you eat.
You can feed your children toxic food like formula filled with carcinogenic preservatives, sweeteners, and dyes, yet somehow, raw milk from local farmers is portrayed as a public menace.
This is part of the reason we are discontinuing Seita Chips, which recently sold to Pepsi for $1.2 billion. I refuse to support big food.
Small dairies are disappearing, while conglomerates intimidate and manipulate bureaucrats to serve their interests.
If you’re afraid of drinking raw milk, simply don’t buy it. Reporting us to authorities feels like a playground tattle. I have your complaint and your name. Do not return to the market.
As for the solution, if legislators truly care about the people of Arkansas and building resilient communities, they need to pass legislation immediately that lets people decide what to feed their families.
I saw this coming and will not stop fighting for local foods and the health of our communities.
If you’ve been brainwashed into thinking raw milk is the problem, especially when safety protocols are followed, then this market is not for you. Take your business elsewhere.
