Elma Lonestar Needs a Home Hi - my name is Elma but my foster mom calls me Ellie. I'm a 1yr old, 60lb shepherd mix. I will be my best in a low traffic home with another canine bestie.

I'm cautious when I meet new people but once properly introduced I am the best companion!

My beautiful foster Elma Lonestar Needs a Home keeps getting passed up because she needs time to warm up to people. She won’t like you the first time you meet. Maybe not even the second or third. She’s wary of strangers and takes a while to trust humans, I’m sure for well deserved reasons. But guess what? Once you’re in, you’re in. She’ll love you. She’ll want to go for walks and explore and especially hang in the yard and play fetch or hide and seek lol. Her favorite things are chew toys and wrestling with her foster brothers. If you know someone looking for a companion, who has a yard, some patience, and preferably another dog, Ellie is a good fit. She’s coming up on her one year anniversary with Eleventh Hour Rescue, please help her find her furever home.

Fun outing today with Ellie to a local park with great hiking trails. Kids, babies, puppies, men, women and lots of things going on-not one ounce of reactivity. So proud of my girl!

Elma Lonestar is available for adoption with Eleventh Hour Rescue. She is a one year old shepherd mix, loves other dogs, needs a yard to run in, two favorite things are chew toys and being outside. She is a great companion and loves everyone once she gets to know them (needs a slow introduction to all new people).

From the Elma Lonestar caught on camera series..quality not great but everytime I check the cameras from work Ellie is doing something adorable. Today she has been snuggling all day with her foster nephew Simon. The two are besties and she can’t wait to see him on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We’re working on alone time. Ellie used to be too scared to leave the yard and her foster brothers. Now she goes for long walks. She’s clearly still watching her surroundings but is getting more comfortable being in new places and without her posse every day
