Veterinary and/or Breeding experience preferred. Must be able to safely handle horses of all ages and administer oral, IV and IM medications. Foal out experience is also preferred. We have had a tough week at 70 Ranch Performance Horses. Unfortunately, we have more heartbreaking news to share with our followers. Menage A Tres was humanely euthanized on 7/23/24. He made a stellar run about 10 days ago and qualified for the AQHA World Show. The next day, he was incredibly lame with a swollen hock. Pete Oen was extremely proactive in getting Six to Josh Harvey at Outlaw Equine, where his joint was flushed numerous times throughout the past week. An MRI showed a ton of edema and bone bruising. After exhausting every form of medical diagnosis and rehabilitation that we possibly could, it was determined that Six crushed a bone in his hock from some form of blunt trauma or torsion. We decided it was in his best interest to lay him to rest. Dr. Harvey was very diligent, and we know he did everything he could to help Six. We are beyond grateful for his efforts in trying to achieve comfort and improvement with this case. Sometimes things just don't go the way we want, and a lot of the most special ones are taken too soon. Menage A Tres had an amazing fan club and had tons of potential. We had incredibly high hopes for him as a performance horse and future sire. He was a fantastic fit for Pete Oen, and we loved watching them run! They earned $39,062 with limited entries during his futurity year. This information is beyond overwhelming and completely devastating to say the least and we know this loss is impacting everyone who had a part to play in his life. Please be patient with us as we work out all of the details as we move forward. We are not going to offer any breedings due to a very limited amount of frozen semen. On behalf of Pete Oen, Don Ham and the 70 Ranch team, we greatly appreciate all the prayers that have been sent our way. Fly high, Sixy. Until we meet again💔
