Since graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Amanda has worked as an associate veterinarian in Lake County, Florida. During this time, she has developed a special interest in dermatology, behavior, and internal medicine while maintaining a strong focus on client communication. Dr. Amanda strives to ensure that owners feel informed, involved, and encouraged in the decision-making process for their pets. After years of working as an associate veterinarian, Dr. Amanda finally decided to take the plunge on opening her own veterinary business so that she would not only be able to practice by the highest medical standards but to also provide her clients and patients the individualized attention that they deserve. Dr. Amanda founded Elite Veterinary Home Care (EVHC) in the fall of 2017, becoming the only house-call veterinarian based in northern Lake County at the time. She looks forward to serving you and your pets within the comfort of your home!

It's finally Friday! As we head into a holiday week next week, I wanted to make a few important announcements:

📌 We will be closed for the 4th of July holiday so we encourage you to please place any prescription refill requests PRIOR to Wednesday, July 3 so that we can ensure you have the medications that your pet needs prior to going into the holiday weekend. Please double check now to make sure that your pet has plenty of their anxiety medications 🎆

📌 All medications left for pick up at Humane Society of Lake County Florida (HSLC) must be prepaid prior to pickup. Your invoice has two options for electronic payment through Zelle or Venmo. Alternatively, a check can be left at the time of pickup.

📌Any medication not picked up within seven days will be returned to stock unless you have made prior arrangements with us. The ladies at HSLC are kind enough to allow us to use their building for pickup and drop off purposes and medications that sit for weeks take up their precious space.

📌Our next vaccine clinic will be held on Saturday, July 6 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Humane Society of Lake County Florida. We are now utilizing a pre-registration system to expedite your visit. You can pre-register here: https://www.humanelake.com/vaccine-and-wellness-clinic

We wish you a safe and happy 4th of July!

It’s that time of year again! It’s National Veterinary Technician Week this week 🐾

Aramis is the real MVP of the practice ❤️ From scheduling appointments to putting records in for new patients to client communication to calling in your prescriptions to local pharmacies and wrangling the sometimes opinionated pets we are invited to see, she does it all! Her technical skills far surpass what can be written in a Facebook post but it suffices to say this girl is GOOD at her job and she has been a blessing not only to me, but to all of our families and their pets that we see each year 🐶 🐱

Please join me in recognizing Aramis this week and drop a comment of appreciation or a picture of your pet below 🎉

Good morning!

🗓 We tentatively plan on seeing our scheduled appointments all week but depending on after-storm damage, fuel availability, cell phone service, and safety of traveling to our destinations, this may change. We will do our best to communicate our final plans with our scheduled families as the weather unfolds. Please stay tuned here for any additional updates😄

🙏THANK YOU to everyone who came to our vaccine clinic today hosted by Humane Society of Lake County Florida! This was our largest (and longest!) clinic to date and we appreciate each and every one of you who came and waited patiently to be seen. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness to the volunteers and staff working today 💙

🥳Thanks to YOU, the Humane Society of Lake County Florida earned hundreds of dollars in proceeds today that will go directly back to caring for the dogs and cats sheltered there!

📌Stay tuned for information on our next quarterly vaccine clinic - as always, proceeds of each clinic benefit the dogs and cats of HSLC and they say “thank you!” 🐾

🎉 It’s National Veterinary Technician Week

⚡️Most of you have already had the pleasure of meeting or speaking to my technician, Aramis, but let me tell you why she’s so much more than ”just” a technician

🎩 This girl wears EVERY hat! If you’ve ever wondered who schedules your appointments, calls your pet’s prescription in to the pharmacy, texts you to check up on your pet if they’ve been sick, and reminds me of all the things that have to get accomplished every day, it’s this girl.

🐾 She handles your pets with care during their appointments, can draw blood from a turnip, and is passionate about client education so that our clients understand why we make certain recommendations.

💗 She genuinely loves you and your pets. Yes, YOU and YOUR pet. She shocks and amazes me daily with the details she remembers about patients a year after we have last seen them. She takes note of the small details because she cares.

🍼 Oh, and did I mention she’s a first time mom to the most adorable little girl, too? She rocks that role as well

❤️ I could not do this job without you, Aramis! You are a nail trimming, dog hugging, cat swaddling, a**l gland expressing, veterinary technician wizard. Thank you for all that you do!

Update: ADOPTED! ❤️

Mira needs a home 🏡 She is a very sweet girl who has been overlooked since January 😢 She is currently located at Pet Supermarket in Mt Dora and is available for adoption through Humane Society of Lake County Florida

Update: ADOPTED!

Meet Mira 🥰 She is a 1.5 years old and looking for a home to call her own. Mira arrived to us back in January with two adorable kittens. She did a great job raising her babies (who have since been adopted) and now it's her turn. Mira is a sweet girl who loves affection. She can be shy at first with new situations and people however once she is comfortable she is a lover. Mira does well with other cats and kids (probably older kids as a lot of activity can be overwhelming). She is available for adoption at Pet Supermarket in Mt. Dora 352-735-1516.

As some of you may know, Amber's last day with Elite Veterinary Home Care was this past Friday and what a sad, sad day it was to have to say goodbye 😿

To say that Amber will be dearly missed is an enormous understatement! Her ability to put a positive or humorous spin on almost any situation, her innate know-how in juggling all of the phone calls/emails/text messages, and her compassion for our patients has been second to none for the past four years.

Amber is moving out of state with her husband to pursue new life adventures and while I am so very happy for them, it is so hard to say goodbye to not only an excellent employee but also a wonderful friend.

Amber already misses our clients and their pets; if you would like to stay in touch, she is happy to have you follow her on her page!

Please join me in wishing Amber good luck and happy trails ❤️ You are already missed by many but we all wish you nothing but the best that life has to offer!

P.S. For those of you who have not already met her, I will be introducing our new technician in the coming weeks on our page but we will save that for a separate post ☺️
