Horse friends of the Front Range this is for you!
I am opening my calendar for local half and full day clinics and would LOVE to come work with you, your barn, your students, friends, club, etc.

I offer dressage and horsemanship lessons, as well as PEMF therapy. I am happy to travel anywhere on the Front Range if your barn has a small group (3+) of people wanting lessons and/or therapy sessions!

I am a USDF Bronze, Silver, Silver Freestyle and Gold medalist; I have successfully trained all types of horses from green thru Grand Prix. Dressage, eventer, jumpers, ranch horses, and untraditional breeds have all been helped in their respected disciplines by my program! I love working with riders from all walks of life. I am also a certified Magnawave practitioner who operates my own PEMF machine. I have been riding and teaching professionally for over 10 years and many testimonials from students of all levels and disciplines.

Offering reasonable rates for my experience as I am new to the area. Unique opportunity to combine lessons and PEMF therapy!
Reach out to schedule!

Circles are hard

Circles are hard

Why do we work on circles? They help you develop the horse evenly from back to front and they help build the bridge that carries the weight of the saddle and the rider. When riding accurately, they enable the horse to lift the sling which is the apparatus that suspends the trunk to the shoulders and is responsible for lifting the withers to bring the horse off of the forehand. This is crucial for topline development, balance and communication with the horse. (This can not be achieved using a leverage bit).

It can be boring to some but necessary for the long-term health of your horse.

If you would like help working on this, please contact me for a clinic near you or to set up a virtual lesson.

To being on your path!

"I found myself at a show recently, warming Beaker up for first level, test 3, in the warm-up arena next to the CDI arena, thinking wistfully of how I could be on that side of the perimeter fence," writes blogger Lauren Sprieser of choosing to give her young horse time, despite the FOMO.

Cartier (called “ Steve” in the barn) is ready for his forever person! This is such a fun horse, the type that can brighten anyone’s day with his personality and joy for life and he also happens to be a dream to ride. He is schooling first level, with elements of second started, and has successfully been to a few USDF shows at training. He has super correct and soft basics. Is lovely in the hand and good off the leg he has been started and exclusively trained by a Grand Prix dressage trainer. Steve has a good walk, comfortable trot (you can sit on it all day long!), and powerful uphill canter.

Most importantly Steve is a horse who is straight up a good time no matter the focus of the day. He is down for any adventure (or social media video shoot), trail ride, cow chasing, or flag carrying you can think of! He has been my go to “fun horse” for the past year, he’s the one I pull out when I have a bad day, or really just need a good ride. He is level headed and clever while not being dull or boring.

Trainer is moving end of March, contact to schedule to meet him ASAP!

Big News!

I will be moving to the Denver, Colorado this spring. My passion for good horsemanship, dreams of talented horses and goals of becoming the best trainer I can be are coming with me! If you are in the Denver area and interested in lessons, clinics, or training please reach out.

It was difficult decision to leave my barn family in Ohio. I am so grateful for the people, horses, and opportunities that have come my way in the past five years. Each one of you has touched my life and changed it, and I will miss you all deeply. I am particularly grateful to Carolyn Williams for allowing me to be at her farm and giving me the chance at so many great opportunities.

I’m excited to get to know a new community and continue to seek excellence in developing horses!

Steve loads, bathes, clips ,ties (to the trailer at fun events and cross ties) is good for the vet but does get sedated for shoes (he can go barefoot and is good for trims) he is good in the herd, and is currently a babysitter type for the dumb warmbloods!

Most importantly Steve is a horse who is straight up good fun! He is down for any adventure (or social media video shoot), trail ride, cow chasing, or flag carrying you can think of! He is best suited for an intermediate rider as he is athletic (but never naughty).

I loved seeing everyone’s Thanksgiving posts yesterday! As I sit recovering from a day full of food and fun with family, I reflect on what I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful for the horses that push me, the ones that make me feel like I need to go learn to be and do better. Because they make me a horsemen.

I’m thankful for the clients that trust me with their place of peace, with the horses that provide them sanctuary and with the goals that give them hope.

I’m thankful for the friends that this industry has brought me, the people who have helped me at the bottom and celebrated with me at the top.

I hope everyone is enjoying a weekend with family and food!

Finesse (2018 Fantastic x Rousseau bred by Jeff Beane) went to her first Regional Championship at Lamplight! Super proud of her bringing home a 7th place with a 69% in First level open Championship, which was a huge competitive class. I keep being happily surprised at how mature she is becoming even in the big atmosphere she stepped up today!

Huge thank you to everyone who helped me this week, and especially to my amazing husband Ethan Gaston for being all the things and keeping me running!

10/09/2023

I’m so grateful to the difficult horses of my past and present that have made me a horseman. I hope to always have a horse that pushes me to be better.

I hope one day you meet a difficult horse.

A horse that frustrates you and sometimes says no.

A horse that shatters your dreams and makes you feel hopeless because you cannot solve their problem with what you know.

Why would I wish this upon you?

Because this horse will show you the limitations of your understanding and challenge you to step up and learn.

Sometimes the lessons you will need to learn is to improve your knowledge, skills and self awareness and how you directly impact the horse and make the feel.

You will work hard spending hours in the dust, sun, wind and rain making yourself better to help this horse - and you will do it.

Sometimes the lesson will be one of acceptance that the horse you love and have poured so much time and money into is not sound.

Your heart will break as you now see your difficult horse was just telling you it was struggling.

This horse will teach you to see and know things about horses that you will never be able to un-see or un-know. You will see horses struggling and people (no different than you past self) blind to that struggle.

But this horse will make you a better horsewoman or man, and you will be grateful they came into your life and what they taught you.

The story of you and this horse will always be a hard story to tell. Sometimes when you tell it, you will get tears in your eyes. But it will be one of the most meaningful stories of your life.

You will share this story with others with the hope that it will help them with their horse. So that your horse, can help their horse too.

This is my difficult horse. His name was Skuda and I am grateful what this horse taught me...and if I have helped you with your horse.....well you can be grateful for him too ❤

Finesse and I took a Tuesday trip to go participate in the Westfalen NA inspection tour hosted at Mill Creek Equestrian

Finesse was awarded premium mare status, with an average score of 8 ( a 9 for type and an 8.5 for her walk!) She also won site champion! It was such a pleasure to present her, and to have the opportunity to learn from the knowledgeable judges!

Huge thank you to Nicole Taylor Crider for hosting, Vickie Swartz for pictures and everyone else who pitched in and helped present the horses!
