Maurice & Sally:
These two bonded sweethearts need a home together! They are just turning one year old, are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested, negative, and micro chipped. Maurice, on the left, is full of mischief and activity. Sally is a little more laid-back. Applications to adopt are on our website under the adoption process tab. Current pet owners must have an established veterinarian and their pets up-to-date and altered. ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED

Upcoming holiday fundraiser! We are looking for donations of gift cards or new items which will be wrapped and displayed at our partner veterinarian’s office, Parkside Animal Care Center. For a $25 donation you can pick a gift for yourself or to give to a family member or friend. Last year, the gifts ranged in price from approximately $20 to over $75! Our plans are to start the fundraiser the Monday after Thanksgiving. Donations can be dropped at Parkside during their regular business hours. Thank you so much for your continued support of GBAR. ❤️

Losing Shadow on Tuesday put a cloud over all of our hearts. However, after every storm we are blessed with the beauty of a rainbow. Our rainbow shown brightly yesterday when our bonded pair, ZB & Flash were adopted by a wonderful family. Best of all, ZB and Flash once again have their own kids. We are so thankful this family opened their hearts to two adult cats. We know they will love having these two in their home. They are a very special pair. Congrats to ZB, Flash and their family. We've been waiting to say that!!

This afternoon the Rainbow Bridge gained a very special resident. Almost a decade ago a cat named Shadow was brought to our partner vet Parkside Animal Care Center to be euthanized for litterbox issues. After examining him and determining medical issues had not been ruled out, they asked that Shadow be surrendered to them so he had a chance to live out his life. GBAR tried to find Shadow a home but Shadow decided he loved those who saved him and misbehaved the 2 times he was adopted so he could return to life at the clinic.
Shadow lived in Green Bay Animal Rescue's space and was cared for and loved by our volunteers as well as Parkside staff. Parkside covered Shadow's medication and food and he was spoiled by everyone in the building.
In return, Shadow mentored many of the kittens and adult cats that came through the rescue. He was the best grandpa/uncle/brother that our scared and confused rescues could have asked for.
As Shadow approached his late teens, his medical needs increased but he continued to love everyone and provided comfort to the vet staff and volunteers on some of their hardest days.
This weekend it was noticed that Shadow was not acting like Shadow. This morning his vet staff realized it was time for Shadow to cross the bridge to continue his work comforting all those that crossed before him.
GBAR volunteers and Parkside staff spent the day saying goodbye and making sure Shadow knew just what he meant to everyone.
Shadow left this world surrounded by love. Because Parkside gave him a second chance, he spent a bonus 10 years repaying them and us with his unconditional love. He was truly a special soul and we are eternally grateful we got to share in his final chapter.
Shadow, you will be missed by so many people. We know at the bridge your health has been restored and you will be watching over all the little kittens who need a grandpa. They couldn't be in better paws. 🐾🐈‍⬛🖤

Our "kittens' Maurice and Sally are growing up in rescue. These two sweethearts were born last fall and have never had a home. They are spayed/neutered, blood tested negative and current on vaccines. They are playful, affectionate and would fit into most any home. Ideally, we would like them to stay together as they have only ever had each other.
Flash and ZB had a loving home with kids of their own. Sadly, due to worsening allergies of one of the children, Flash and ZB were returned to rescue. Their family was heartbroken and these two wonderful cats are longing for a loving home once again. The other day I watched a little boy approach the window to view Flash & ZB. Both cats rushed to the window and began pawing at it. It was a bittersweet moment as it shows how much these cats miss their kids. Flash and ZB are just 2 years old, fully vetted and ready to start their next chapter. They will not be separated as they have lost enough already.
We have a small calico kitten in foster care.' She was found with FOUR bot flies, fleas, lice and internal parasites. She almost did not survive. She is a miracle but is not yet ready for adoption.
Today we took in another tiny kitten found alone in a remote wooded area.
The thing we need the most right now is adoptions. We know every shelter and rescue feels the same, so if you aren't near enough to adopt from us, please visit a shelter in your area. One of our favorite quotes is "any adoption is a good adoption". We truly mean that as we want all the homeless pets to find their forevers. If you can help ours, please visit our website at www.greenbayanimalrescue.weebly.com and fill out an application. Thank you.

GBAR Family, two of our own need our help. ZB (gray female) and Flash (orange & white male) need a loving home - again. You see, ZB and Flash were adopted from GBAR in 2023 as kittens. They had wonderful pet parents and kids who adored them. Sadly, one of the children had allergies to the cats and despite medications, the allergies worsened to the point of asthma attacks. The extremely difficult decision was made to return ZB and Flash to GBAR. There was not a dry eye in the house the day these two came back. Our hearts broke for the cats and their family.
ZB & Flash know what they are missing. We want so badly to find them a home that will provide them the love and care they knew before. Both cats were born in July 2023 and although they are not siblings, they quickly bonded. We will not separate them as they have lost enough. They are up to date on vaccines, altered and blood tested negative.
They will make wonderful companions for a family with respectful kids, for a single person or a couple. Several of our volunteers have stated if they had room at home they would adopt them. They truly are special.
If you have room in your heart and home, please submit an application. Apps are found at www.greenbayanimalrescue.weebly.com on the adoption process tab.
If you can't adopt, please share. Let's do this!

Sally is using her best interpretative dance moves to try and get the attention of someone to adopt her and her BFF, Maurice. Sally and Maurice are approximately 10 months old and are both sweet, fun-loving and entertaining. Their spay/neuter surgeries are done, they are vaccinated and microchipped. They are just waiting for a forever home. Maurice is active and mischievous and Sally keeps an eye on his antics. We truly want them to be adopted together. We could consider splitting them up for a perfect situation, but it is a last resort type of decision. Applications are found on our website- www.greenbayanimalrescue.weebly.com
*Please note- if you currently have pets, they must have routine vet care and be up to date on vaccines to have your application considered.*

Ok, hold up a minute. This morning's post introducing Maurice and Sally leads you to believe Maurice is just your average kitten needing a home. Trust me, that was very misleading. Maurice is about as far from “average” as he can be.

A little background- Maurice was a stray that wandered up to a home. He was loaded with ticks and so small and skinny it was thought he was a young kitten. In reality he was at least 6 months old but due to internal parasites and 2 bacterial infections he was wasting away.

After being treated for all his ailments and having his health restored, Maurice’s true character came bursting out.

Maurice is a whole lotta personality wrapped in fur and deceptive adorableness. Maurice LOVES attention. In fact, he demands it. As our volunteers joke, if Maurice doesn’t get a home to dote on him and keep him supplied with his favorite thing – FOOD, he may just go into business to support himself. He has a knack for being a hair stylist and dabbles in acupuncture.

Back to the food – if it’s out, it’s Maurice’s. Nothing is off limits. Our volunteers have had to become extremely creative to make sure Sally gets to eat her own food without Maurice pushing her into the next county.

Maurice will break into cupboards and drawers to get a midnight snack. Now you will ask, who would want this little Dreamsicle with murder mittens? A special person who likes to laugh, feels their life is in a rut and wants to commit to a little hellion who will love them for the rest of his rambunctious, fun-loving life, that's who.

Perhaps Maurice will settle down once he is in a home, but then again, he may not.

He needs a home that will accept and love him for who he is. Believe us, that is VERY easy to do. We would love to see Maurice adopted with Sally. She knows him and puts up with his sh.... ummm, shenanigans.

We’ve laid it all out there with full transparency. Now we need to find the Yin to Maurice’s Yang. Is it you??

Z.B. (Zing-Boom) and Flash were adopted out as kittens two years ago. Unfortunately, a child in the home was allergic and then developed asthma. Many tears were shed as they returned these two wonderful cats back to rescue. They are ready for a new home. The cats are two years old and are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested negative, and microchipped. They are both very sweet and our bonded to each other. The adoption fee has been sponsored, so there is no cost to adopt, however an approved application is necessary. Applications can be found on our website under the adoption process tab.

These two older kittens are Sally and Maurice. They are ready for a forever home of their own! They can go together or separately, but another young cat or kitten in the home would be best for them. Both kittens are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, blood tested negative, and microchipped. Their adoption fee has been sponsored! However, we do need an approved application to adopt. Applications can be found on our website under the adoption process tab.
