From last year’s Xmas card! I didn’t have time to do one this year (first time we’ve missed it in years but I got really sick before Thanksgiving and was out of commission for several weeks, boo). I’d really like to make more time for photography in 2024 and perhaps even sell prints of my favorites!

We checked out Kelso Dunes on our CA road-trip, highly recommend this dog-friendly stop in Mohave National Preserve!

We arrived late so weren’t able to hike up to the top of the dunes, but walked part of the trail instead.

Make sure to go on a mild day so your pup doesn’t burn her paws or get overheated, and don’t forget to bring water for both of you.

P.S. Fill up with gas before you arrive, the are no gas stations nearby. Preferably at a bigger town because gas prices were astronomically high right outside the park.

The lighting was horrible and we had a couple minutes to take this photo; there were horses nearby so the beagles were barking and when passing hikers told us a bear was seen along the trail we were outta there!

So it was a bit chaotic, but this photo always makes me smile!

I’m a CA native & recently moved from the SF Bay Area to the Midwest.

I’ve worked with dogs for many years, including running a dog hiking company, offering dog photography, teaching puppy classes and now have a Canva template membership for dog brands ().
