Last week I accompanied Luna and her Mum on a walk in Wigan with a potential new sister for Luna. Freya has been in foster care for a while but the walk went brilliantly, all the right boxes were ticked and lo and behold she arrived at her new home yesterday!
Today was my first walk with just the three of us and it was a dream! Freya (darker coat and amber eyes) is a couple of years older than Luna, a bit bigger and is so chilled out and relaxed. She's taken everything in her stride so far and going off today's initial walk, I'm so excited to develop a new bond and witness their friendship grow! Let's face it, they look perfect together 😀

Dogs are the main attraction here at Walk This Way, but a close second are the Overlords we call cats! 😼
I can visit your home daily while you are away, and cater to your cat's needs and more!
• Feed + water your Feline Commander!
• Empty litter trays and clean any mess
• Provide cuddles and attention
• Administer medication
• Water plants
• Secure any mail and retrieve parcels left with neighbours
• Make sure you don't miss bin day!
• Ensure your home is secure in your absence, giving you peace of mind 😌

You can't truly be a 'proud clean car' owner in this line of work (she says, trying to convince herself). I use the excuse that it's pointless because it gets covered in hairs and mud and grass and gravel in no time so I forgive myself for being lax in that department haha, but then when it comes to hiring a valeter, I need a 2 man team for 2 hours and ooh the shame is real! 🫣 Looks better than ever now (for the next 5 days at least) 🤷🏼‍♀️
The dogs don't judge me so don't you either 😬😂

That's some mileage (and poo bags!) racked up there! 😅

Last week I did an 'out of the blue' visit to an old client's new Boxers - Duke and Dotty. They are absolutely gorgeous and Dotty lives up to her name haha! What a perfect silly face 🤣 I used to walk Ruby, Benson and Tia (sadly over Rainbow Bridge now) so it was lovely to meet the latest rescues. They're very lucky to be with Sue ☺️ xx

A little market research for a friend of mine.. do any of you use or know of a house-sitting service for dog owners? i.e. Someone who will stay in your home with your dog while you are away?

Nellie asked for an extra walk this morning so we had a good roll around the park on our own for the first half, then I got to introduce her to Ace for the second half! Nellie was a good calming influence as Ace is still young and was very giddy but he calmed down nicely after a while. I can't stop laughing at that first photo 😂🥰

Say hello to Spark! He is the new addition to the late Millie's family. I walked Millie for years until she sadly passed in July 2021, then a few weeks back I got a call asking if I had space for their new boy! As luck would have it, they wanted the exact days and times that I walk Coco, and they live round the corner from her so we had a trial run to see if they would get on. With an age gap of about 9 years, it was all about whether their energy would match and honestly it couldn't have gone better! Luckily Coco is full of life and Spark is as friendly as they come, and now they can't get enough of each other! As soon as they're in the car together, all I can hear is tails thumping and lots of licky kisses 😂 I think Coco is a little bit in love, as am I! Welcome to the gang Spark! ❤️🐾

Well that's all for 2023! I can't believe this has been my 10th year of Walk This Way! I really should have arranged a little celebration.. maybe it's something we can do in better weather next year. A little meet-up at a dog friendly local pub so clients old and new, friends and general dog lovers can come and share a drink and meet each other! Do comment if that's something you'd be interested in!
Anyway, I can't thank all of you enough for making my job the most blessed I could ask for! Every day spent with the most amazing dogs.. every one of them unique and beautiful 😍
I wish all of you the most heartwarming festive season and hope you all have quality time with your loved ones, be that family, friends or just you and your dog! I send you all my love and can't wait to start another year of awesome walks in all weathers, and all the new memories waiting to be made ☺️🐾❤️
Oh and seeing as I'm dreadful at social media updates (🫣), here are the last 3 months of this year's calendar which always holds a special place in my heart and on my kitchen wall 💕

I am deeply sorry to announce the passing of Honey who laid down for her final sleep last Wednesday.
I started walking her and her little sis Millie way back in 2014 and she has always been the most beautiful soul. Mischievous and playful, loving and gentle, and was a wonderful influence on the whirlwind that is Rocket when he joined the family.
What an absolute honour to have called myself her friend for 9 glorious years, a part of my heart has gone with her.
My deepest condolences to her family, who gave her a life to be so proud of, and I hope all the memories somehow ease the pain in good time.
Thank you for blessing us, Honey. See you again one day and until then run happy and free🌈🐾 xXx
