My name is Megan but many call me Meg and I’m the owner of BOLD Dog Training. I started this business as a side passion project almost 7 years ago and over time it has turned into so much more. To say I love dogs is an understatement. Since I was a kid they have been my obsession.

I got into dog training after rescuing a very aggressive husky puppy. I wanted to help him so badly and didn’t have the best experience hiring a dog trainer so I became one myself! My background is in mental health counseling. I have my Master’s in the field, so studying behavior has always come naturally to me and been an interest of mine.

I used to have 3 big dogs of my own (but now I’m down to one 😞). My pack is my dog training why. Dogs are family members to me and always will be.

I have two employees named Courtney and Janine and they are the most amazing women. I’ve known who Court was for many years as I played sports with her sister growing up. She was the first one to do my shadow program and she’s been a huge part of the business ever since. Court and I are alike in many ways. We love sports, we love dogs, and we love being introverts.

Janine just joined the crew in the past few months and we are so thankful we found her. Janine is so kind and so smart. She’s from Germany so she has a great accent.

We all happen to be Aquarius ladies ❤️.

Happy Thanksgiving from the BDT crew and thank you for being here! It’s been quite a year for us with many changes and challenges. We are so thankful for each one of our clients both human and furry. We are excited about our future and can’t wait to meet more pups. We couldn’t do it without your support!

Let’s talk about recall ⬇️

Dogs are so much smarter than we give them credit for. They are routine driven and they know when things are fun and when they aren’t fun.

❌ Pet parents often only use recall when they are angry and when they want their dogs inside (or the dog is in trouble).

✅ We make recall fun
✅ We use food
✅ We use happy and excited voices
✅ We run backwards
✅ We release them back outside after they come inside (the fun of outside gets to continue).

Come train with us!!

At BDT

✅ We do in home training. This is where your pup is the most comfortable and shows a majority of their issues! But if they struggle in public, we do public work too :)
✅ We focus on relationship building! We want your pups to trust us so we meet them where they are at.
✅ Your receive support fr us throughout the training process, but way after too! We are here for long term support.
✅ We care about how your dog feels throughout the training process!
✅ We have many different training options and use many different training tools too.

Do you have a new puppy?

Puppy owners typically struggle with a handful of things: biting, jumping, potty training, and destroying things are the top issues we see!

❌ Most owners are giving puppies free range in the home.
❌ Puppies disappear to potty and destroy things.
❌ Puppies have access to anything and everything.

✅ We love to use baby gates and crates for puppies.
✅ They must EARN their freedom.
✅ Giving them less space to cause chaos helps with all of these issues.
