Did you know that you can always contact us to refresh your training goals or even address new behaviors that pop up and cause you concern? Yodi's family this week contacted Amy for just that! They were able to talk about some new things happening and work through some current challenges.
Yodi didn't complain one bit, and was more than happy to receive cookies from the Cookie Lady once more. 🤣

Check out Okkoto here rocking his mat game skills!! This is his first time at a cafe, and we chose a quiet day to make sure he was successful. Historically, he has been pretty nervous around new people - so we made sure he got plenty of snacks every time someone appeared 😊

His ears are a huge source of information about how he's feeling! You can see how they're constantly moving and focusing on various noises around us, and how high and tight they're held corresponds to the amount of focus he has on something.

Okkoto the German Shepherd at 3 months, 6 months, and 3 years old. He was an adorable puppy and is gorgeous as an adult. The especially gangly teenage phase is there to balance it all out! 😂❤ Did you know that dogs (and all mammals) have a true "teenagerhood" where their brains are capable of really Big Feelings but are still working on developing self-control and sustaining attention? What's your favorite phase of doggie growing up?

Trick training can be a fantastic way to keep creative, high energy pups like Leaf happy! Leaf is a Belgian Malinois, and she has an endless supply of energy and creativity. We started teaching this trick by practicing a chin rest and working on shaping stillness. Once she had a good grasp of that, we placed a treat on her nose while she did her chin rest and slowly faded out the use of our hand to support her head. Now, she's got a solid balancing trick!

Did you know that tail wagging and play bows can happen because dogs are stressed? (Don't feel badly if you didn't, many many people don't, including pet professionals!) This is a big reason why we coach most of our clients on the most common subtle signs of dog stress, so they can better understand and help their dogs!
