Saul- our little ray of sunshine! Saul has been having to go to Raleigh once a week for the past several weeks to get the treatment he needs to heal. This time about a month ago, we thought we would be having to say goodbye to him, but guess what?! He is HEALING!!!!!!! He still has a road ahead, but we are so thankful for his progress.

Amos appreciation post. 🐔 This sweet, gentle, patient boy loves pets, scratches, and lying in laps. ❤️ Like many of our roosters, he was rescued from a religious ceremony called Kaporos in NYC. Before having his throat slit publicly to "atone for the sins" of humans, he was saved and brought to Blueberry Lane. We're so thankful.

Saul's feeling (and looking) like a million bucks in his new shoes. 😎 Because cornish cross chickens have been bred to grow too large to produce as much meat as quickly as possible, they are highly susceptible to foot infections, known as bumblefoot.
