2 of my solid appaloosa girls. Skye (red dun) is one of the last Skip of Stars daughters. Her dam was a grand daughter of Kid Clu and Ur Goin Grand.
Quin (bay) sired by a gr son of the great Model Te and JR Ewing. She is one of only 2 registered daughters of this stallion. Her dam, a black MYF x Skipa Star/Noble Tradition.

Both are 6 panel negative.

Incredible old bloodlines are lurking under all that lack of colour, just waiting to come out. I am not made colour blind when I look at them. I see their conformation.

Imagine, having the opportunity to pick up a 6 panel negative Daughter of US and CDN National champion The Spot Broker-one of the few who do not carry IMM. Her dam, a daughter of the red leopard Mr Conclusion, with a tail line of Two Eyed Jack. Sure, she's a solid black, BUT are you only breeding for colour or are you breeding for quality? For proven bloodlines? I will even toss in a breeding to Cash (collection and shipping not included). Who is she? That beautiful photo of the eye is hers, PM for more information

Grabbed these photos of Viola tonight. While chatting with her I noticed a few things, where her foal coat has come off.
On her hips, there's spots, many spots.
Her teats are mottled AND she has heavy mottling along the inside of her back legs.
Her tail hair samples go out on Tuesday-lets see if shes HZ for black and if she has the PATN gene along with her LP :D

HOME FOUND
2024 ApHC BUCKSKIN appaloosa filly. 5 panel negative and carrying 1LP (she will colour). Lots of white hairs and mottling. Expected to finish around 15.2hh, Viola is very athletic, with some great turns and speed.
Her dam was on her way to being a reiner before being kicked in the shoulder. Her sire is very fast with a strong inclination towards barrels.
Located in Eastern Ontario, with many haulers heading east in September. She will be weaned labour day weekend and ready to go mid-September.

Seven. He's very hard to get pics of because all he wants is to be with you. But, it's pretty clear he's a Kitkat c**t 🥰 he is shedding out so cool-I can't wait to see his genetic test results :D
He is 2 1/2 months in these photos and just started on creep feed last week. Awaiting his breeders certificate so I can send off his application for his ApHC papers :)

Breeder of registered APPALOOSA foals. Weanlings/mares available.
I am making Viola, an appaloosa, available. She will be weaned September 1 and ready to go 2 weeks later. She comes with ApHC registration papers. She is located 30 minutes outside Belleville ON

She is a buckskin with LP (her sire is LPLP PATN Ee). She is 5 panel negative through parentage. Get a deposit on her now before I get testing results next week for E, PATN, and GBED (only affects in HZ designation).

Her dam was in training for reining before she was injured and moved to broodmare. Viola is her 2nd foal. Major JD Parker, King Hankins, Obvious Conclusion

Rhamblin Rules arrived last weekend. This very sweet mare has a bf lined up for a last minute cover. If she catches, great, if not, she will be bred early 2025.

This morning Kitkat presented her foal, sired by Imagery. This is her 7th foal, and, being born on May 7, I've named him Seven. He is definitely black and, I suspect, carries the the cream gene, making him smokey black. He will be tested :)
This makes the 2nd foaling the yearling fillies have been there for. A great learning experience for them.

Viola went into the ring this morning so she can stretch those legs.

So...lastnight Kitkat was super uncomfortable and rolling so I brought her in. PH is exactly where it needs to be to foal. Checked her at 7, figured we were good but I had this feeling I should have grabbed Charlie. Let kitkat out at 530 this morning, Charlie was standing in the middle of the field.
Went to leave for work at 630 and notice Charlie in a Grove of trees, no kitkat. Drove down the road and found Charlie, on day 327, with a big, super dark, buckskin filly. This filly definitely has LP (sire is LPLP.PATN) she will be tested for PATN as well as her GBED (mom is a single carrier) and EE status.
Everyone, meet Viola (who is considerably bigger than Latte was last year).

I moved the yearling fillies and the 2 pregnant mares into another small grass pen. It's really been too cold for the grass to get in gear but that will change starting tomorrow
Charlie has leapt ahead of Kitkat and now has wax at 324 days.
Pheni and Latte are still looking for their homes. I am open to considering trades

The rain moved off yesterday afternoon so I took some time for a few photos.
Kitkat is 326 days today, Charlie 322. Charlie has said "hold my beer" and passed Kitkat in the race to foal first.
320 days IS considered safe, but 345 is average. Last year, Charlie had Latte at day 338.
Also pictured are Quin and Skye, coming in for dinner. Love my solids

This morning I put the yearling fillies in with the 2 pregnant mares. Pheni was pretty excited at having more room to run. She IS still available

It's very satisfying, watching retained fillies grow up and joining their dams in the herd 🥰

A few more updated photos of Latte.
It isnt easy to get decent photos this time of year. Horses are scruffy, the ground is muddy and slick, and everything is still brown. But, just like the green that is coming, this filly has white coming through her coat.
If you've been looking for a serious speed/reining/trail prospect, this is the one ;)

Looking forward to a few of his foals arriving in 2025

Spring is trying hard to arrive, and these 2 girls are ramping up for their deliveries.
Kitkat is due first, May 8 and is on track, perhaps a day or 2 before then.
Charlie is due second, May 15, but she foaled early with Latte and looks to be early again this year.

MRS I Approve A Latte "Latte" is creeping up on 11 months. The last foal of 2023, she is the image of her dam, Hot Salsa Dancer. Sure she's all scruffy now, but with her LP and clear signs of varnish seen on her butt in the fall, it will be fun watching her drop this yak-fur to reveal the new her.
3x Goer, King, Major JD Parker, Mr Conclusion, Jackie Bee-she is fast, catty, and has a "small dog mentality" ;)
Someone is going to get a spectacular filly to develop.
