Martha, affectionately nicknamed Tw***ie, was returned at 4yrs of age to the very same Amish puppy mill she was purchased from as a pup by her owners. She was forced to breed in unthinkable conditions at the mill for 4 VERY LONG YEARS. She won her freedom at the age of 8 years.

A survivor.

This girl was spotted for days wondering the streets for food and shelter. She wasn’t very good at it. She is extremely thin and understandably confused. She doesn’t know where she belongs.

We have named her Lola, (part of our give a dog a name program). She is estimated to be no more than 2 years of age, already a mom, and hearing impaired. She needed our help getting off the streets and out of harms way.

Now she needs your help.

Lola needs a foster or adoptive home with no other pets so she can finally relax and feel safe. She has shown to be respectful, gentle and loving towards well behaved children. Kind, sweet and engaging when meeting new people.

If you have ever thought of fostering, please reach out to help Lola. She didn’t deserve to be thrown out into the street like trash.

A quick blurb from a foster mom about one of the 3 most perfect brothers we have in rescue🥰

This sweet boy Eeyore, has really settled into our busy household. He walks on leash like a champ, loves playing with toys and getting toys out of the box, and is a sweet snuggler and greeter. He is smart, is learning to use the bell to go outside and has figured out how to open up my sliding French doors, and the swinging . He is a prolific shoe thief. Is now comfortable going for car rides and loves the doggy park. He likes all dogs and people that he’s met. He is a sweet, gentle boxer.

Hello from Beauty and Fred!
Two friends, both from Texas that met in rescue. Beauty was begging on the streets for help, emaciated and heart worm positive. Fred lost his leg due to an old fracture he sustained while living at a popular dump site for dogs.
They were both nursed back to health by the very same dedicated foster home. They now spend their days hanging out together while they wait for their forever homes. Fred loves to lavish Beauty with kisses, she is unfazed. Both kids share a foster setting with other dogs and a resident cat.
Not a bonded pair, just two friends making the most of their time in rescue💕

Duncan is looking for his perfect home. Fostered in Lancaster, PA area with a female boxer . He is crate trained and fully vetted. At 3 he needs a lot of exercise. Coming out of a mill requires a home with kids over 8 even though he lived with them. He had nothing his whole 3 yrs. He needs to learn life’s rules of living like a normal dog slowly . He needs a confident home that will continue showing him the way.

This good boy landed in NY from the states of Turkey. Estimated to be 2-3 years of age, Howie walks great on leash, loves the car, and is crate and house trained. He is even learning sit and down.
Howie is great with other dogs, but can also be the only dog in the home. He is so lucky to be saved. The pups from Turkey are always so grateful.

Benson spent the last several months of his life in a pet store. When he didn’t sell, the pet store reached out for help finding him the home of his dreams. Please welcome Malibu to rescue 🩷
Malibu is a pet store release. She and her brother, who already has a previous adopter waiting for him, got too big to sell. The pet store asked for our help finding these two kids fantastic homes.
Malibu will be 7 months of age in just a few weeks. She requires a home that has a male dog that can appreciate puppy antics and help guide Malibu to be the best Boxer she can be. She is not house trained or leash trained, she knows nothing. Homes that are unwilling to help teach or lack the patience to do so, kindly look at one of our other dogs that already posses these skills. We have so many!

Wallbee’s foster family is going away this Wednesday 5/8 to Sunday 5/12. We are looking for a fun family for an extended slumber party while his foster family is away (5 days).
Wallebee is currently sharing a foster setting with a female Boxer and a few cats. He loves to play! With anything! He is respectful of the cats, willing to share the couch with them while giving them a clear path when they raise a paw.
He would a fun houseguest! We are desperately trying to avoid putting him in boarding as our expenses are getting the best of us.

Tilly is waiting in boarding for a foster or adoptive home. This SWEET girl has 5 1/2 years good girl experience, and she is 51 pounds of solid treat lovin’ happiness. She loves to go for walks too! She knows her name and literally moves into action with pure joy when called.
Tilly is a puppy mill survivor, she spent her life producing puppies for selfish consumers that had no regard for her life. Buddy(yes, the Amish puppy mill owner named HER Buddy), is home from her spay. Routine surgery is rarely routine when these mill mammas have been so overbred. She had some complications but she’s home. The first picture is what it takes to get these girls healthy. They get no vet care at the mill because that cuts into profits of the greedy mill owner.

We will do what we always do, whatever it takes to get her healthy and ready to start her next chapter in her forever home.

Because they matter.

Meet Blanca. Sweet 10 month old joined AABR when the 3 resident female frenchies started to attack her. This is something that happens all too often. Families are heartbroken because they didn’t know. Blanca is sweet. SHE is dog friendly and now if foster with a male boxer and an old gal! She is child friendly and everything you ever wanted in a young boxer girl. Not that is matters to us but we will note she can hear. Blanca will thrive in just about any family.

A shelter in WV has seized over thirty boxers from a breeder who became overwhelmed and was not properly caring for them. AABR has already transported a mom and five young puppies into foster homes last weekend. We have been asked to take several other boxers from this very overcrowded shelter. We need help from our homes to be able to do this. We are urgently looking for foster homes for 4 three month old puppies and three adult boxers. They will be transported into Maryland, so homes that can pick up from the transport would be preferred. We also will need donations for their vet care. The six week old puppies who were transported last weekend are very undernourished and are being treated for mange, Coccidia, giardia, and hookworms. None of the boxers have received any vet care. This is a tough time of year to find foster help, but if you can provide a safe place to get one of these needy boxers into a home - apply today or contact your coordinator if already approved.

Hershey’s journey home 🏡
Hershey came to rescue after she was found abandoned on a vacant property sitting next to a deceased dogs for several days. She was infested with hundreds of ticks and in poor body condition.

Thanks to the support of our generous donors and friends sharing her story, we were able to get her the care she needed. A foster home came in the form of friend and co-owner of . Hershey was wlelcomed by Anzol, a Pomsky superstar, his fur siblings, and a very loving foster mom and dad.

Hershey thrived with her foster family, going to day care where she rocked it in every play group, playing with her foster brother at home, and snuggling on the couch with her foster parents.

Today, Hershey found her forever home. She brings with her all the love from her friends, followers and supporters.

Happy adoption day, Hershey. You’re finally home.

Meena (brindle) and Teena 2 year old sisters, were the best of friends, until they weren’t . Just like that, they can no longer stand to be in the same room. This is why we place male-female. Same s*x bully breed aggression is real. We are now looking to place both girls. Both dogs are fully vetted and lived with two young kids. They are good with kids of all ages. The owner feels they would be fine with a male dog. They have always been dog friendly . They are housebroken and sweet boxers. Located in the Brooklyn/Queens area of NY . A little bit of Cubbie to brighten your day☀️

The sole survivor of a house fire, Cubbie suffered third degree burns. His owner perished in the fire and Cubbie was transferred to our rescue for care. After surgical intervention, his wounds are well on their way to healing.

Cubbie is now in need of a foster or forever home where he can feel safe, happy and loved. The ideal home for Cubbie would have no other pets and no young children to help make his recovery as stress free as possible.

We thank each and every one of you that have helped support our efforts to help him. His story is sad and tragic, but he has all of you by his side, and for that he is lucky.

We have struggled with what to say about our newest intake for days. So we will attempt to tell his story like we always do. Cubbie(give a dog a name), was severely burned in a housefire.Firefighters were able to remove him from the house that was engulfed in flames. The single occupant in the home, cubby owner, perished in the fire. After the initial shock of hearing this tragic story, we began to imagine the fear and terror Cubbie had to go through. He must have sensed the impending doom as the smoke filters home. The smells the sounds, and the chaos of the emergency response team must have been, and this is putting it lightly, traumatic for him. We were toldthat Cubbie’s owner came here and search of a better life, and that a space heater was the root cause of the fire. With no family members to reach, Cubbie was immediately transferred to our rescue for immediate treatment. Cubbie has sustained 3rd degree burns. One of his ears has been completely burned off, while the other hangs on by a small amount of charred skin, the smell of the house, fire, and bedded in his fur. As we process this heartbreaking tragedy, cubby is receiving care and wound treatment at our life-saving partner.. He has been triage and is currently under the care of the soft tissue surgery team. His pain is being managed, and under sedation, his burns will be meticulously tended to by the skilled hands of his surgeon. We are unsure of the extent of his medical needs, and the expense they will carry. We can only imagine they will be extensive lengthy aftercare.. More than than one of us have shed a few tears over Cubbie tragedy. He is amazingly, trusting, loving, and resilient, while he does his best to hide his pain.. We tell this whole story in cubbies honor. His long, lonely, painful journey, should not be in vain. We are doing everything we can, for Cubby, may our efforts, reach his owner and bring him peace. Cubbie’s struggle is not for the faint of heart, but if we all work together, we can get him through this.

Blaze has lost everything he has ever known and loved.
He is currently in temporary foster care until he makes his way to us in just a few short weeks. We would love to have a foster or forever home waiting for him, this sweet boy wouldn’t do well in boarding with a broken heart.

Blaze is 7 years of age, and a gentle sweetie. He is great with all dogs of all sizes and clings to anyone that shows him kindness.

An update from Motley’s foster dad🐾🐾🐾

If anyone is looking to adopt the perfect boxer they better make haste to put a claim in for him. Motley has been exceptional the past 3 weeks he’s been with us. Between the weight he’s put on and the softness and vibrancy of his coat, he looks like a completely different dog. He takes his time to eat his breakfast, dinner, and extra dinner then makes his way out of it kitchen back to the living room or bedroom. He no longer lingers to collect the discarded kibble that fell out of the bowls of our other dogs. Motley is very excited to see us when we return home and waits patiently for his scratchies and kisses. He’s also being more rambunctious everyday by taking toys out on his own and insighting games of tug of war with our dog Jack, albeit he always loses (for now).

His favorite time of day (besides eating) is lounging on the couch with me or my wife. He enjoys any physical contact that he can get. He also enjoys going for walks and excels at walking on the leash. He stays right by my side and doesn’t pull a bit. And at the end of the day when he’s exhausted from eating, walking, and snuggling he likes to plant himself in the middle of the pillows at the top of our bed and snooze away until he can do it all again the next day. Someone is going to be extremely lucky to adopt what we consider to be a 12/10 good boy.

We are happy to share this update with all of our friends, followers and supporters. You guys remember Lupita? Shortly after arriving to rescue she went blind and quickly began to suffer immensely.

Diagnosed with Blastomycosis, we knew the odds were against her. There is no documentation of any dog surviving this type of fungal infection.
Multiple specialty departments within the are working together with all of their might, skill, knowledge and love to help Lupita beat the odds.

After many CT scans and MRIs, she appears to be responding to treatment very well, and will likely have a study published about her! She went from being blind to being able to see and lead a pain free life. She’s also extremely smart and enjoys doing puzzles at home with her amazing foster family.

But she still has challenges ahead. Including she still needs to have heartworm treatment & likely in the future will have surgery to correct an extra vessel that wraps around her esophagus.

She is exactly where she needs to be, with all of the best humans to helping her.
A little girl from Arkansas soon to have a study published based on her treatment protocol and results that very well may set the standard of care for this rare deadly infection.

We never give up on our dogs, and neither does the .
