Meet Chester! He’s my own handsome man 😍 he’s 8 this year! He was a foster fail when I was studying vet nursing. No one wanted to foster him as he was about 9 months old and everyone wanted kittens, so I said I would…and he never left!

What a fun 2 weeks looking after Pippins and Peggy (try spot the difference between them in the pics!) We had plenty of foot and body warmers 🧦, Peggy trying to steal our food🍔, Pippins bringing us gifts from the grassy paddock next door 🐭 and just lots of love and snuggles!

Happy Friday!!! Finally the weekend... although not much of a relaxing one for me.
A few facts about pet sitting below and some reasons a pet sitter is better than a cattery or dog kennels:
1. One on one attention for your pets in the comfort of their own.
2. Reduces stress and anxiety for both pets and owner as they are in a familiar environment.
3. They have the comfort of their own bed, toys and smells around them.
4. Keep to their schedule so walks, playtime and exercise it tailored to their needs.
5. Dogs may like to socialize but can also be overwhelming for extended periods of time whereas we can personalize attention to them and their needs.
6. If you have multiple animals, a pet sitter is likely to work out cheaper.
7. Older animals don’t like change, therefore prefer to be in their own homes.
8. Routine is key in an animal’s life. We often get out of kilter when there are changes to our routine, that is the same with animals. Having a pet sitter, can tailor the animals needs as best as they can. A pet sitter is more one on one focused; therefore, it is easier to have a schedule.

This beautiful boy below is Atlas. He is a purebred bengal and is an absolute delight even though he's a big talker. Unfortunately, he was born with a heart condition and needs medications every day. Being a vet nurse, this is an easy task for someone like myself as I have been giving patients medications for over 5 years and gives the owner relief knowing someone is capable giving there pet the needed meds.

I'm going to be more active on here. I am almost booked out for the next 4 months. I will be posting about available dates, cancellations (Yes I have a lot fo these at short notice which does not help me!) and animals I have been house sitting. As well as commonly asked questions.

What services do I offer:
• Overnight stays
• Daily feeding (once or twice a day)
• Nail trimming
• Medicating animals (depends on availability)
• Dog walking (depends on availability)
(Your animals must be able to stay home alone during the day as I work full time.)
I always do a meet and greet before you go away.

First of all, thank you to all my followers!
I’m getting a lot of queries about my services at the moment so I thought I would answer a few of the most common ones in a post.

1. Yes, I do charge! I’m a qualified Veterinary Nurse with a Bachelors degree. I did extra papers in advanced anaesthetic and analgesia as well as exotic nursing. What I charge depends on what animals you have, how many you have, any medical needs and where you are located. Please message me for a quote!

2. I work full time, so your animals must be able to stay 8-10 hours at home on their own alone.

3. I have a new job in Avondale, West Auckland, so I will be slightly changing the areas I now cover.

4. My partner and I are now doing this combined so if I can’t do all the days as I’m already booked for some of the dates, then between us, we will try make this work as well as we can! Of course, I will let you know before if this is the case.

5. Please don’t hesitate to message me, call or email me about any queries!

6. Please book in early for public holidays and school holidays as we get booked up quite far in advance. We’re almost fully booked for Christmas and New Years so please message me asap if you’d like our services over this time or the next school holidays!

I had the fun of looking after these 3 cuties for a couple of weeks. Floyd the Burmese is a diabetic and needed an insulin injection twice a day. His younger sisters Ally and Skyla enjoyed there night time snuggles especially as it was the days when it was getting colder and winter was definitely on its way! 🥶 (I did enjoy the extra heaters!)

It’s been a busy couple of weeks for me! From horses, to chickens, to ducks, to rabbits, cats and dogs I’ve had a huge variety of animals to loom after and feed this year!
