Gypsy update

They couldn’t find any pain or source of what’s causing her issues with her back legs on exam. We’ll monitor at home and see if this continues.

Poor Gypsy can’t catch a break. She’s at the vet today. Last night she kept catching her back legs on the baby gate she can normally clear with no issue (we can’t get her to stop jumping the gate no matter what). Then when she was getting out of her dog bed, her back legs gave out from under her and she fell.

Please keep our girl in your thoughts! 🐾🐶

Gypsy had to go into boarding last week and has been sick since starting a new bag of food. She finally seems to be feeling better. We’ve contacted the food company about this issue and they’re working with quality control to see if there’s any other reports of sick dogs.

We’re asking for donations to cover the cost of boarding and medications she’s needed…about $150. Every donation matters and helps…no matter the size! Thank you!!!

Daisy’s cytology results are in…

Round cell neoplasia. Neoplasia doesn’t necessarily mean cancer thankfully…it just means an abnormal growth of tissue. There are two types of tumors the lab thinks Daisy may have (histiocytoma or cutaneous extramedullary plasmacytoma in case you want to look it up). A histiocytoma would be best case scenario, while plasmacytoma has a chance of being malignant but is typically locally invasive. Ultimately, this mass needs to come off and be sent off for histopath so we can know exactly what it is.

Surgery for our little girl is tomorrow…we’re not messing around with this mass!

7 years in rescue!

Today marks 7 years since Gypsy came into Ruff Life. Gypsy was found abandoned in a yard in our Founder’s neighborhood in Fort Mill, SC.

Gypsy is a loving, fun, happy girl who thrives in her foster home. She loves to play with her foster siblings, lay outside sunbathing and get attention from those she knows. She does well going on walks with her foster brother. Outside of her foster home, Gypsy is a shy girl who needs kindness and patience.

Gypsy had her dental cleaning today and is home recovering from anesthesia! She did great today!
