Cedar Valley Pit Bull Rescue 501c 3 non profit in Waterloo, IA. Our mission is to provide education and awareness in our community and a new leash on life for displaced pit bulls.

We work hard to match up the right dog with the right forever home and to give them a happy ending. Our dogs are in volunteer foster homes so they continue to be socialized, learn basic commands and live in a family setting while they wa

*Choppo* We have not mentioned this guy in awhile as he was going to be adopted but that is no longer is fate. We are looking for the best forever home for this puppy!! He is only 9 months old. Look at that sweet face! 😍 Here is what his foster dad has to share about him!

This little guy is full of curiosity, attitude and energy that would make a great addition to someone’s family. He is super sweet and full of affection to share. Choppo loves spending time outside, chewing on his rubber chicken and playing with other dogs. He’s also great around kids and no issues with food aggression. He’s learned how to use a dog door, do simple commands like sit, sleeps and hangout in his kennel when he wants, recall is getting better everyday and is for the most part potty trained. He would best fit in a house with younger dogs as he is full of energy all of the time! Overall this little guy is deserving of the best forever home and will bring joy to someone’s life for a long time to come.

He’s on Iams dog food with my other two dogs. He came to the rescue as a puppy from Oklahoma back in December and I’ve had him since then. He does like to chew on things but can be easily redirected and is very food motivated. I would still puppy proof the house as much as possible with him cause he still can be a little bit of a rascal.

Duke is a new intake
He is a very independent dog.
We think he has lived his life as a outside dog.
He is about 2-3 yrs old, not a fan of male dogs, no cats.
He is heartworm positive and will get started on his treatment.
He is being worked with by Training with Lynsey .
He likes his walks and exploring.

Update on Bugsy
He is doing great and just had a bath.
His drainage to his nose is better and his cough is better.
We hope he can come up within the next 7 days.
He had a long recovery, with heartworms.
We paid on his bill today , so you can see where yiur donations are going.

New intake alert!
This sweet Boston terrier was going to be euthanized for behavior and a vet contacted us about him.
He was in a home where he was in a kennel alot. He was then rehomed and it was stressful for him and too many small kids stressed him our and he was biting.
Training with Lynsey and I went to meet this guy.
He was a good boy, he was scared,but settled with us. He loves treats and had no issues with him.
He loves car rides and snuggles. Unknown about cats 🐈 or dogs 🐕, but will eval him, once he settles in.

Introducing *Sassy* Here is what her loving foster has to share so far!!

Sassy is a Pomsky. 9 years old and fully vetted. Loves all people including kids. Good with all dogs. Crate trained but not housetrained. 33 1bs and could probably lose close to 10 lol. She doesn’t seem as old as she is. Still very active and no health issues other than obese. We’re working on that lol.

This sweet girl was picked up in Clarksville.
The police contacted us today and I and Training with Lynsey ,went to go meet her.
This girl is such a good girl, she know sit, shake, down, can catch treats.
She loves people, she is about 3 yrs old.
This sweetheart is in heat and we will get her spayed when done.
We are taking her in our rescue we are still thinking of a name for her.
I have to give a huge thank you to Clarksville PD and the Mayor.
They are taking great care of her, the mayor takes her for a truck ride and walks.
The officer reached out about her and they care so much.
We love it when cities care about their animals and want what's best for them.

Update on Bugsy.
He is heartworm positive, has a URI with pus coming out his nose.
He has to stay at the vet and start on Doxy for heartworm and URI.
He get medicated baths.
This poor guy wasn't able to pass a health cert, so he has to stay and get better before he can transport.
We are needing donations to help with his vetting.
This is a estimate, just at the vet he is at.
After he gets here, he will start his heartworm treatment.
They say he is so sweet and just wants love.

Bugsey is coming up on Saturday, he is at a vet and will not surprise us if he is heartworm positive.
He was a chained dog and looks ruff and not sure on age, but thinking about 6 yrs old.
They say he is a sweet boy and likes other dogs.
We will get this boy in better health.

*Siri* This beautiful mama has COMPLETED her heartworm treatment and is cleared for adoption!! It's been a long road of staying calm but she's excited for longer walks! Siri came to us with 2 pups and she raised then well! Now she deserves a loving home of her own! I am not super picky on who I live with - kids, cats, dogs. I do need proper intros. School is starting! You know what that means?! Summer vacations are wrapping up and adoption applications can resume! Who are you looking for? We have some of the greatest young pups - Hank and Frank! We have amazing family dogs that would love to be an only pet - Fletcher and SJ! We have dogs that are looking for doggy siblings - Siri and Iris! We have other dogs that have been with us for FAR too long and need a home of their own - Whiskey and Hazel. Hungry babies, these 6 pups have not eaten since last night. They fad fast without food. They have all been fed by a temp foster and all have pottied. These babies needed help, and the rescues in that area are full and have no available bottle feeders. People seem to think we don't communicate with each other about this. We have groups of rescuers that network. If you look at that Hungry baby and feel this pup didn't need saved, then get off this page. We don't need or want your drama. We want positive support and not criticism. We take in many dogs around here, that people don't claim. We are grateful for those who step up to help foster, even if it's one time. Anyone who knows us, know we have a soft spot for moms and pups. We will keep on doing what we do.

This is Mike from San Souci and he is having a ball in his foster home. Love when dogs are happy! I leave these 2 home alone frequently…..today I left for 10….10 mins and this anarchy ensued! It appears the stuffed giraffe in ball pit was the catalyst and then the ball pit “exploded” 😑 They are rather proud of their work, based upon the wags and panting….and are currently napping after having been so busy. 🫠 Mom will be spending her lunch hour picking up over 500 balls spread over about 2k sq ft. Grandpa John needs to come back and supervise these fools 🤣 Foster mom

Shug and Cassie are doing fine and Cassie is growing. Shug is teaching her baby and this is so important in pups growth and development. Too many get taken away too soon from mom and they can be more insecure, aggressive and have anxiety.

Urgent help needed for this boy. He is in a Iowa Shelter and needs out. He needs work on his manners and want a foster home with no small kids, no cats. He was tested with a female dog and he was a in your face dog and she wasn't having it. He will need a experienced foster to handle him and also decompress. He originally came to shelter, the beginning of Jan. He may just need time to decompress and to burn off energy. His name is Beast boy and is about 4 yrs old. Raven needs a foster who has no kids and, can work with her with the help of our trainer. This girl was originally found as a puppy in Tama, by a shopping cart. The finders found her a home, and they did not care for her and hurt her. She has a leg that was previously fractured and healed on its own. She is scared and needs to decompress. She has food and toy aggression, It's unfortunate that people do this to animals. We do require that you have a fenced in yard and Raven has been around other dogs and cats. No small, senior dogs please. Your dog needs to be fixed and up on vaccines, to be able to foster. She is afraid of men. Please PM the page for more information and apply at cvpbr.org to foster

Update: Foster found Raven needs a home to lay her head, she is currently in a machine shed. She is about a 1yr old and is fully vetted. Great with dogs, cats and kids. She does have a leg that was broken from who ever had her before saved. The leg healed on its own and cannot do anything about it. So the leg looks wonky. Bur she is a good girl. Best with a home where she can play with another dog. Please help get this girl into a warm home.
