Busy morning with the babies!
So first I gave Olive and Cal a bath... They're both white, so they tend to look dirtier than the others.
Next was Harness training Xander and Giles... It didn't go out as planned. Not because the babies were bad, but because Xander is a BEEF-CAKE. When I tell you this boy is bigger than the babies A WEEK older than him... This boy couldn't fit into the baby harness... he was so big, he couldn't fit into the harness I use for all the babies! No worries, I'll just use the other one, but I was NOT expecting that 😂

I've also started the weaning process with Doc. She was a little behind Toast, so I let her catch up before starting. I had no choice today because her parents decided they want more babies 😂 they're already getting ready to lay more eggs, and normally that'd be.. normal, especially with other babies, but their parents don't have a 2nd nest spot. Weaning is simple. She'll be inside most of the time, and I'll take her outside 2-3 times a day for her parents to feed her and cut it down each day for a week.

Let's talk walks!
Toast here is getting ready to go ALL the way to Georgia! His owner has requested to get him used to frequent walks.
Some steps I take to ensure an enjoyable and safe walk are:
- Getting them used to wearing a harness.
- Start with just getting outside with the harness and leash on. Let them see their surroundings
- Positive reinforcement! Toast here has a habit of trying to jump on the ground. To fix this, I rewarded him with treats when he would stay still longer, I kept him occupied and let him look around him every now and then (stopping to let him look around, stepping off the road and letting him walk around on the ground)
- Keeping walks short, and going longer each time.
-Reward after each walk! I take the harness off immediately, and then take him straight to his food and water. After, he's rewarded with some pets. You want to make walks a positive thing for them!

Merideth with her adopted son, Bailey. Not sure who the true parent is, as the egg was on the ground. My best guess is one of my new black spread ladies, so if I *had* to guess what the baby will look like, black spread would be my best guess (All black). Either way, these 2 are adorable 🩷 Bailey will be available April 30th-May 1st.
