The Davissa Horse Refuge Ranch The Davissa Refuge Ranch is a permanent home for senior retired, displaced or abandoned horses.

The Davissa Refuge is a non-profit horse refuge ranch that provides a permanent home for senior retired, displaced or abandoned horses. The ranch is a 501c non-profit and as such does rely on donations, volunteers and the community to continue this important work. All horses on the ranch are given a lifelong home and are not re-homed, sold or adopted. When they arrive here they are home and all that is ever asked of them is to simply be a horse.

Hello friends. After a LOT of prayer, meditation and leaning on faith we have decided to take the next step in His leading spirit. Starting this next Sunday August 24th, we will be having Bibles in The Barn EVERY Sunday. We have also decided to make the time 10:30 a.m. We truly hope that if you are seeking a place to just join with fellow Christians in open discussion, study and fellowship of the BIBLE, you'll join us. We keep it simple (its a barn after all) and very informal. We are seeking God's love, guidance and strength and we know that the Bible IS the definitive answer. So, make plans if you can and come join us. All are welcome!

Mark your calendars! We are offering a fall workshop for humans who want to have a better relationship with their horse. The workshop will focus on the mind and spirit of the horse and how that effects everything they do in herd and alone. This is a great opportunity for new horse owners and seasoned horse owners alike. Come out and discover more about your horses "why" and how it can deepen your relationship with them. Seating is limited so call and book your spot today! The workshop will include discussion, questions and some hands on with a horse or two, or three. This workshop will NOT cover horsemanship, riding or any part of those disciplines.

We'd like to say hello and welcome to our newest fellow. His name is Duster. He is 26 years old is as sweet and gentle as any you'll meet. Welcome to your forever home, old friend. Now just relax, enjoy some green grass, brushing, all the love you want, and just be a horse. Thanks to everyone for supporting us in this work. These old souls are SO special, wise, loving and kind. It is our absolute life's purpose to give them a place to live out life in the best way possible.

Good morning! For all of you who donated and worked to help with this....we finally have our new run in shed. We are SO thankful for this. It provides a good safe shelter for horses in bad weather as well as a place to find shade and rest in heat. These sheds are such a help, particularly for our older kids. The donations, help, kindness, love and hard work of all make these things happen. From all of our herd to you we say, THANK YOU!!

Last night's sunset was remarkable. In its way, very empowering. The past two weeks here on the ranch have presented some pretty hard challanges and even a few hard obstacles. For those of us who try and stand firm in our faith, this is still unpleasant. He told us that we were of few days and full of trouble. That's life. Yet we have hope. We know that difficulties are merely part of the journey. They are not the final outcome. Seeing these rays of sun coming from behind the clouds reminded me that He is still there. Even in our overcast moments. Even when things go wrong and we struggle. He is there and His light can still pierce the darkest of moments. Trust that. Know that He is the Lord, our God and He knows. He knows every struggle, every heartache, every moment of doubt, pain or fear. In His grace we can find peace and know that those rays are coming. Just weather the storms, he has us.

The sunset tonight was just visible under the storm that was approaching. Isnt that much like life? Sometimes the brightest and most beautiful moments are hidden just under a storm. Always keep faith that this life and the storms within it are temporary. God deals in eternal, time isnt linear to him. See this life as a gift from him to prepare us for something we cant even imagine. Be strong, be blessed and look for the beauty beneath the storms.

Hello, friends. We just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came out last Saturday and supported Cowboy Market. We also want you to see what your purchases and donations do. This is two weeks worth of hay that Saturday's event allowed us to purchase. Please believe me when I tell you that EVERY single dollar counts. We couldnt do this without you. The horses are safe, happy, healthy and peaceful because of all of you and what you do to help us. From the bottom of our hearts...THANK YOU!

28 years ago today, this precious woman started an adventure she was likely not expecting. We have lived SO much life and had so many amazing experiences over that time. We are truly a "been there, done that" couple and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way with any other person. Melissa is truly a gift from God to me and all our 4 legged chidren. She works so hard, has such a good heart and somehow, still finds time to laugh at my silly jokes, have coffee with me and be my best friend. She is truly the best part of me. I love ya, Mel, always and forever!

Hey everyone! We're so grateful for your love and support of our mission. You might have noticed we've been asking for donations recently as we welcome new horses who deserve a peaceful and loving place to retire. But did you know there are other ways to help our refuge?

One fantastic way is by purchasing cookies from Mellie Belle's Baked Goods at The Davissa Ranch, made by our amazing co-founder. We've just launched her page, and we'd love for you to give it a follow or like.

We accept special orders for any event (or craving) you have, and we also do pop-ups in Cheyenne throughout the year. We will keep you informed about these events and some exciting new things she's been working on through her page. Every penny from Mellie Belle's baked goods sales goes directly to the care and upkeep of our amazing horses and their refuge.

Thank you for your continued support!

Wyoming skies never disappoint. They are so big and vast yet they look like you could touch them. That is so humbling but also very majestic. The peace you find in simply looking up into them is nothing short of divine.

As the sun is starting to go down on this Father's Day, I am once again so thankful for my Heavenly Father. His love, grace and mercy have no bounds. He values His creation so much and sunsets like tonight's remind us of the beauty and perfection of His nature. Be blessed, share love, bring peace and do for others. In that, you'll find the greatest beauty of His gift.

New paths and new adventures.

My journey has been an amazing one, filled with adventures and moments of unforgettable awe. Since moving to Cheyenne, I have completed a transition that has been years in the making. As you will notice, my page, my website and my entire brand no longer contain the word “photographer”. For several years I have been working to build my presence in the world of art. After much hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance, that has finally come to fruition for me. Leaving behind the word “photographer” doesn’t change the medium in which I work. Changing to the moniker of Artist, however, reflects the work I strive to create in a more accurate way. My journey is ongoing and many new and exciting days are ahead. Let us continue this journey together my friends and may my art inspire you, excite you, bring you contemplation and joy. Please take a moment to visit my site at www.artistdavidwilson.com
