Whisker Washers is a mobile grooming service for dogs and cats that serves select areas of the CSRA. Our vans are fully converted to be able to pamper your pet at your front door! We are cage free, and your pet is groomed from start to finish without the distraction of other pets or having to stay at a facility for hours on end.

So sorry I haven’t updated in a while. Alicia is doing great. She is getting plenty of rest and also getting around the house good. She has even been able to take a few walks outside with her husband. Her dogs are being great nurses and not leaving her side. She still has a long way to complete recovery and healing, but she is looking pretty good for someone who was in such a terrible accident just 3 weeks ago. A lot of you are wondering if we are recommending any other groomers. We recommend Furbabies, Van Go, Pawsitive Pet Stylist and Paws in Paradise. We know you all love and miss Alicia, but it will take a while for her to recover and to get things back up and running. She misses y’all so much and she is working hard. 😍🥰🥰

Alicia is staying at least one more night so they can make sure her white blood count is still decreasing.

Update:
Alicia spent a day in a regular room. She is hitting all the marks she needs to hit. She should be going home in a day or two. She is doing great.

Alicia is doing well today. She is sitting back in the chair and she gets the NG tube out today. She has finally been allowed a soft food diet and has kept it down. Her white blood cell count is still elevated, but is going down. All good things.

Update. Alicia says that she feels better today than yesterday. They changed the dressing on her hand. A lot of the swelling has gone down and she can move her fingers. Her white blood cells are still elevated and they aren’t sure why so they are gonna run some more tests. She is up in the chair again and being a very good patient. All the nurses love her. Even the ones that had her before are coming by to say hi and check in her.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY! To all of our Whisker Washers family, we hope you all have a wonderful day being celebrated. Our mom is with Alicia this morning. I’m headed to church, but will be with her after. I will post an update then. MUCH LOVE 🥰

Update: Alicia had to go to emergency surgery. I want to respect her privacy as much as I can. What I understand from the nurse is yhere was infection in her colon and they had to remove part of it. She did well in surgery and is in recovery now.

Good morning! Sorry for the delayed update. She is still doing great. They have been taking care of the side effects mentioned in the last update. Hopefully they will move her out of ICU today.

Much awaited update:
Alicia is still doing good. They are going to keep her in ICU a little longer because she has some minor side effects from the pain and sedation medications that she received. They are handling it and will get her into a regular room once these issues are taken care of. The doctors, nurses and staff love Alicia and she is loving them too. She is in good hands.

Update: Alicia had a rough night. It was the first night off the ventilator, but also off sedation so she wasn’t able to get much sleep. Physical therapy is going to get her up and moving today.

Update: sorry it has taken so long for an update, but I was catching up on rest. Alicia rested well through the night and my mom just contacted me and said they just took her off of the ventilator.

SHE IS OUT OF SURGERY! She is back in ICU and they are getting her settled. She is still on the ventilator because they want to wean her off so it will be tonight or tomorrow.

She is headed to surgery now. Please pray for her and the surgeon and staff. She’s got this.

Alicia rested very well last night. Her doctor was pleased that she is down to 40% oxygen on the ventilator. He is prepared to do her surgery later this afternoon and remove the breathing tube. Things are headed in the right direction.

Update: Alicia has been resting most of the day. They changed her medication and the new meds are helping her relax more and she had a phenomenal nurse today who was so attentive. She got her in a comfortable position and she is getting good rest. She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow afternoon, but she is in great hands. I will keep updating as much as I can. Again, we appreciate all the prayers, concern and out pouring of love. 🥰

Good morning. Quick update. They changed Alicia’s medication yesterday so that she would be more awake. This was necessary for reason we are keeping private. She was communicating some. She unfortunately did not get much sleep so they are going to up her meds and let her rest for a while today. All in all, she is doing amazing. Thank you for the continued prayers and concern.

Not much to update this morning. The plan for the weekend is to let her body rest and heal. She is heavily sedated and sleeping well.

The out pouring of love, prayer, positive vibes and support that we have received is a true testament of the person my sister is. She is so loved. We are so grateful to all who have reached out. I know those who love her are anxious for updates. I will update as much as I can, but I also want to keep her privacy. She is still stable and they have just been letting her body rest today. The staff and doctors are impressed with how well she is doing. She is tough and determined. She is still in ICU and doesn’t want any visitors. She is just hurting and vulnerable right now and needs space, but as soon as she is able I know she will reach out. Thanks again for your prayers and concern.

I’m not sure why my post from yesterday is not on here so I will make another one. This is an effort to reach as many of our customers as possible. Alicia was in a head on collision with a dump truck yesterday in the Whisker Washers van. Some of you may have seen the pictures on the news. She is very blessed to be alive, but she has sustained a great deal of injuries. None of her injuries are life threatening, but she has a long road of recovery ahead of her. We appreciate all the texts and calls of concern and love. She has asked that we not let anyone visit right now except immediate family. She is in ICU and they do not allow flowers in ICU. She is stable at the moment and resting. I will update here as soon as there is something to update. I don’t want to give too much information for her privacy sake. Again, thank you all for the prayers, good thoughts, well wishes, love and support. She is tough and one day this will just be a distant nightmare.

Meet tucker! Tucker is a 11/2 year old fixed male. Tucker is a chinese crested "powderpuff", which basically means he has hair🤣. He is looking for a forever home, unfortunantly his mom passed away recently due to pacteatic cancer. His world has been upside down, so he will need someone thay can give him some time to come around. If you are interested in meeting tucker you can text 706-691-8080.
