$200 sponsorship towards his fee applies
Rusty is a 1.5 yo mastiff mix (?) who has been at the shelter for too long. People ask what’s wrong with him that’s he’s been there so long. TBH if there was something that wrong with him he would not have survived this long in a shelter.
Rusty is a sweet, active boy who would love an active family. A yard to run in would be a dream! Throw in a squeaky ball and he’d be in seventh heaven! Or maybe some walks/hikes or runs would be great!
Please share Rusty so we can get him a home where he can get the lifetime of love he deserves!
If interested please email [email protected] or contact the shelter at 301-932-1713.

Myla
Myla’s adoption fee has been waived but our normal adoption process will be followed. She is located in southern Maryland.
Myla is a smaller Norwegian elkhound with a big personality! She is friendly, affectionate, and smart! She would do best in a calm environment with older children. She loves running zoomies in the yard so a fenced in yard would be a dream! She will bark at strangers, so an apartment or townhouse probably isn’t the best place for her.

Ringo would to say thank you to everyone who so generously donated money to help save his life! He would also like to thank everyone at Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital for taking such good care of him and doing so much to save him. He had his follow up with our local vet today. He still has some stuff in his lungs and will need to continue some meds but is definitely a lot better as you can see in the video.

Bella is a two year old Cane Corso that found herself searching for a new home after her original owner abandoned her with a family member. This gorgeous girl has the brain to match her beauty. Unfortunately we don’t have any background on Bella, but we have come to learn that she is very obedient when it comes to her commands. Especially when a treat is involved! She knows commands like up, sit, lay, and paw! To add to her resumé, she is working on stay and roll over. Bella clearly has the smarts and would love to follow up with some more training to learn just a few manners such as pulling on the leash or jumping on people. Bella does love to give hugs and give kisses too!

Duke is a handsome, three year old German Shepherd. He is a big boy that weighs just under 100lbs. Duke was surrendered after he had lived with a few different family members (different households). Ultimately it sounds like he gets attached to one particular person, and becomes protective when that person is around. For this family, he attached himself to the lady of the home and wasn’t warming up to the other members of the family. Duke is housebroken and he also walks well on the leash. Duke has previously lived with other dogs, but they said he can be a little reactive when on leash. Duke was previously kept in the crate often, so he can be vocal when he feels that he shouldn’t be in there. Otherwise, the crate can also be his safe place and is where he is used to sleeping at night. So far, he has done well at the shelter. He will sit and wait to come until he is called. I think he would thrive in a low-traffic home where he can be showered with love by his very own person. He does have a bit of a sensitive stomach, so some tasty, high-quality food is a must!
