Hey y'all! I have several babies available for *pet* or *fun* pens!

Buff/Partridge mix pullet - cross beak
Partridge cockerel - poor wings, nice otherwise.

Orange bands #1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 9 are all half buff/half partridge, these will be beautiful (I just can't use them in a pure pen), definitely at least 2 pullets here.

YB #23- some s**t in wings
YB #19- s**tty
YB #20- single comb
BB #69- likely pullet, 4 toes
BB #64- fused toes
BB #79- 4 toes
BB #82- likely pullet, curled toes one foot
BB #62- mostly blue with a touch of brown
BB #61- all blue

These babies are priced to sell ;)
Available for local pick up, can meet up to 1 hour away.

This handsome fella is looking for a new flock! He is an F2 from my project pen and just over a year old. Good personality.
I also have an F2 silkied hen from the same pen that I can let go with him. She's not a whole lot to look at but she has very dark skin & eyes and she's a good layer.

Just sharing a little update on that pair of Partridge that I posted about in April. They are almost 4 months old now. I really wish the pullet was black based instead of blue!

What a difference 10 weeks make in a young bird! Here is the same cockerel at 16 weeks and 26 weeks.
His hackle and cushion grew in, along with his tail (and, unfortunately, hard feathers 😅), wings tightened up, comb and beard grew in also.
This is a great example of how we, as breeders, must learn to be able to envision what a bird may grow into. I thought of selling him at 16 weeks because his back was so long, and yes it could still be shorter, but overall I'm very glad that I decided to hold onto him longer. He also has a fairly even Buff color for a cockerel, he is more golden in person.

Also check out the unique barnyard mix I hatched, it has two different colored legs!

I have a beautiful little Buff cockerel ready for a new home. The only reason I am letting him go is that he is growing in some white feathers on his back and also in his first 2 primary wing feathers. He is 12 weeks old.

Located in Washington, GA. Can meet depending on distance. Would prefer not to ship.

Today I spent some time evaluating the oldest 2 groups of chicks, almost 9 and 10 weeks old already!

Hopefully, a couple of these little cuties will be accompanying me to the ASBC Eastern National in November.

One of my favorite things about Partridge Silkies is that you can s*x them young, you don't have to wait months and months and play guessing games! 😂

These cuties are a perfect example of how easy it can be to s*x Partridge Silkies. They are only 5 weeks old and you can see that the chick on the left has a very red crest and is also developing that mahogany on his shoulders and down towards the tail; whereas the pullet chick on the right is much lighter in color with only light tan/brown and no red yet.
These two are blue based Partridge, so that does make it a bit easier to see the difference in their feather color. Not all Partridge are this easy to s*x, but generally they are a lot easier than many other varieties of Silkies.

**2023 UPDATE**
Yes! I am still showing and breeding my Buff and Partridge Silkies!

2022 was a crazy year for us, even more so than the 2 years before that. Without going into all the details: in the spring fertility was low in the birds, then late March my sweet 14 1/2 year old dog got osteosarcoma and she passed away on July 14th. 8 days later my uncle also passed away unexpectedly. The summer was very rough and very busy for me. I managed to hatch about 2 dozen chicks but most were from my project pen.

In the fall/winter I did attend 4 shows (showed at 3) and the birds did well in variety placing. I was able to refocus on the birds over the winter and am excited for the spring and grow-out season. I'm currently setting every egg that the hens lay, and I have about 23 chicks hatched already this year. (not including some older ones I hatched between December-January)

I added a new Partridge cockerel and I am SUPER excited for his first four chicks hatching this Sunday! Pictures to follow! It's been far too long since I had Partridge babies. (None hatched in 2022)

I'm looking forward to attending the Eastern Silkie National this year at the Alabama Bantam Club show in November. This year marks the American Silkie Bantam Club's 100th birthday so you know the Nationals are going to be huge!!

I am going to really try hard to keep this page updated from now on. (please be gentle with me if I slack off again! lol)

Thank you for reading this far!
with much love,
Hannah
