Our Story
(These are not the poodles I raise, but a beautiful picture of my grandchildren with their puppies!!)
I started raising teacup poodles 15 years ago. I had owned poodles ever since my sons were very young. My mother gave them our first poodle and we named her Amber, because she was such a ray of light to our hearts and lives.... We adored that girl.... When my first husbands job transferred us to different locations, the last thing I would do before we went to our new location is have Amber groomed to give me time to find a good groomer at the new town we went to.. I always tried to find the best..... we were transferred from Carrollton, GA to Calhoun, GA and our little Amber had gotten old and could not jump upon the bed any more, so I picked her up with one hand under her chest and the other at her rear.... This particular day, my thumb happened to land on a spot on her hip where Puss oozed out of it... it was the size of a 50 cent piece!!!
I was beside myself and had not one clue what it could be from... I took her to the vet and of course he would never talk negative about anyone, but I did find out that my Amber had been given a BAD SHOT at the groomers....before we arrived at Calhoun, GA... She stopped eating and drinking water and was so weak when she tried to drink water that she would almost fall in her water bowl.....Our sweet neighbors whom we had just met that week came over and brought some food to try and help our Amber.
The vet did all he could but it was too late, the shot had done its damage and within a week my shining light was gone!!!I was crushed!!! I could not take her to the vet for disposal, I could not bury her in GA., our home was in Mississippi and it would be a couple of weeks before we went home.... so the only thing I could do is prepare her body, wrap her up and keep her stored until we went home. YES I put her in my FREEZER...
