And do you know what that means?! It's time to get your saddle fit checked 🐎 September is one of the best months to book in. Our horses are coming out of winter and with the warmer weather and longer days lots of riding is on the cards 😍🥳

Never had a saddle fit? Here's what to expect and how to prepare 🥰

🐴 Firstly I'll assess your horse. This includes weigh taping, wither tracing, taking photos, assessing balance and evenness, followed by running my hands over them and checking for sore spots. It's ideal if you can have your horse caught, brushed and dry, and preferably somewhere flat to stand 😊
🐴 Next, I'll do a saddle assessment and undertake any adjustments required to attain the best fit possible for both horse and rider, this could consist of flocking adjustments to panels or gullet changes etc. I'll start with no saddle pads then introduce these as I progress through the fit.
🐴 Lastly, unless it's not possible, I'll get the rider up in the saddle to check for rider balance, wither and spine clearance, and saddle stability.

And that's it! Easy as that and not at all scary 😊 In my line of work I work with all sorts of riders from the very beginner beginners to the professional trainers. I also work with lovely old school masters to freshly started youngsters. So please, never feel like you and your horse aren't a suitable saddle fitting combination.
