Pet Circle is beyond critical capacity on large dogs. The center is committed to maintaining above a 90% live exit rate; however, we rely on the community’s support to maintain that status.

We have numerous fantastic animals on site ready for their forever homes. Staff can help you find the best fit for your family. Please help us clear 30 kennels TODAY!

DOODLE UPDATE! 💙

Do y'all remember our intro to Doodle when we broke the news he was diagnosed with parvo?

Well... he says, "Parvo can kick rocks! I feel great!"

We were going to be sending him to a specialized parvo unit... but this kiddo had other plans. 😉 One of our staff members took him home to do some supportive treatment (lots of fluids, nausea meds, antibiotics, etc) and even overnight he made remarkable progress. Within a couple of days, he was 100% back to normal.

Parvo didn't stand a CHANCE against Doodle! We are thinking that the combo of his initial puppy vaccinations & catching it VERY early saved his little life and made recovery a breeze.

While he is still not cleared to be adopted, we just wanted to let you all know that he is feeling much better. We expect him to make a full recovery soon. He will be getting retested in a few days to see if he comes back negative.

Stinkbug update 🥰

Bug has been hospitalized and will be at the vet for 3 days. They’re working to help him clear out the f***l matter from his colon and then once that is clear, they’ll be doing some more x-rays. This is when we’ll find out if he has megacolon or not.

So far, it is hard for the vet to definitively diagnose the megacolon without clearing out his colon, so we won’t know next steps or future care until then!

He is doing GREAT! He has been eating and drinking & has been on IV fluids.

Tomorrow morning we will get another call from his vet for more updates. ❤️ We will keep you updated!

In the meantime, we are still needing help covering the costs of his care.

We have raised just about 1/3rd of the estimated costs. 🐾

Meet Stinkbug (Bug for short!) 🥹

Last night we were tagged in a post from another local rescue (Wonky Whiskers Rescue) about a kitten in need at our local shelter. We knew we had to step in to help to save this baby’s life so we sent in our tag and picked him up this morning!

Stinkbug came into the shelter very constipated with a distended belly. The vets over at the shelter believe him to have megacolon, which is a chronic condition that weakens the nerves in the colon & causes it to stretch. Because of this, f***l matter gets stored in the colon and causes constipation. This is typically a common condition in cats, but needs lifelong proper management.

He is currently at Cottonwood Vet Clinic getting some help with his painful belly & some diagnoses. He is also getting help to get the f***l matter out of his colon.

If it is megacolon, this likely will be a lifelong chronic condition with potential “flare ups”. It is definitely manageable, but in some cases needs surgery to help. He will likely be on laxatives, a special diet, & a colon med for the rest of his life according to his vet.

We are hoping that Stinkbug can get through this with just proper management. 🤞🏻 However, if this has been a condition since birth, the damage may be irreversible & he will need a specialist for the surgery to remove his colon. We will keep you updated as we get more information.

➡️ Our current initial estimate sits at $1,216.50 for all of his x-rays, deobstipation, meds, and 3 days of hospitalization.

MELA!

Mela is a 2 year old husky in need of a new home. While she does great with all others she meets (kids and dogs), the other pup in the home has decided he is not a fan of Mela anymore. This has caused some unsafe situations in the home for Mela and the kiddos, which is why Mela needs to find a new forever.

🥳 It's official, we have another homeschool graduate!

Our very own Lyla has found her fur-ever home and fits right in with her new pack. They took her on a "Paws & Reflect" trial week and it only took a day for them to know she was staying FOREVER! ❤ We are so excited for her and her new family!

🚨 Molly and Nova are in need of a new foster (or adopter) ASAP!🚨

They are currently in a foster home, but are just a bit too much for her foster. These senior girls are bonded and must go together.

While they are seniors, they do have a bit of s***k left in them which is why they are a bit too much. They would like do best in a home without small children, only because they may run over them. They are dog friendly but they are NOT fans of kitties.

Can YOU foster (or adopt) Molly and Nova? Help us find new placement for these girls so we can get them settled in and find their forever home so they can live out their glory days!

UPDATE: Doodle will be going to Operation Kindness in Carrollton, Texas TOMORROW MORNING for parvo treatment. He will have to be there before noon.

❤️‍🩹 Introducing... Doodle.

We took this sweet baby in to our program about a week ago after he had been left behind when his owners moved. We hadn't introduced him to you all yet because he is still too young to be ready for adoption.

This isn't the introduction we wanted for him, but we need your support to help us help Doodle. 🫂

This morning, Doodle was diagnosed with parvovirus. He is doing good and we caught it very early, but we are still just at the beginning of this battle. We are currently fishing for rescues that could take him into their parvo ICUs, but if we cannot find one that means we will be hospitalizing this sweet angel. 😭

Just this morning his emergency exam and supportive treatment was just around $270. If we have to hospitalize, this will cost us thousands.

Now, we're asking for help covering his veterinary care this morning. We will keep you updated as we know more information on the next steps. 🙏

FOSTER HOMES NEEDED -

We get calls every day asking for help placing an animal, however, as a foster-based rescue we need FOSTERS to help us do that!

👉 Here are just some of the animals in our queue that need placement so that we can avoid shelter intake.

Some of these animals are in our New Leash on Life program, so they are also available for rehoming if you are interested in adopting one of them! If we cannot find an adoptive home, we will need a foster for them until we can find one.

There are a few cases that are URGENT and need placement ASAP ‼️

Do yall remember the sweet little chihuahua baby named Peanut that you all rallied behind to help us get his vet care taken care of?

Well, here's the great news - He is all healed up and doing WONDERFUL! 🥰

He underwent tooth extraction surgery and had to have nearly all of his teeth removed, but he is feeling SO much better. His mama even says that he has a newfound energy. She said, "He is doing so well that he beats me to the door now!"

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Peanut got the care he needed - now Peanut is truly living his best life. Both he and his mama feel eternally grateful for the support they received.

Again, thank you all so much! Your support helps us change lives, one pup at a time. ❤

💙 Meet Baby and Juju...

These two came into the shelter quite a while back after their owner passed away. 💔

They have been searching for forever ever since then, so we are hoping to find them the best home in our newest chapter and allow them to turn the page into THEIR next chapter.

Baby and Juju are both senior pups with ages estimated to be around 8-9 years old (give or take). They are bonded and have been with each other their whole lives. 🫂

They are both very laid back, with Baby being the more shy of the two. They would be great for a family who wants a pair of easy-going, lovable pups.

We know a perfect family is out there for Baby and Juju, help us find one for them! They deserve to live the rest of their lives in a loving, comfortable home. 🫶

🩵 Meet Rosie

Rosie is searching for a new home more suitable for her personality & needs. She has been with her family for all her life, but recently her owners have had to take in their very young grandchildren into their home.

Turns out, Rosie is NOT a fan of the kiddos. She has never been a fan of her paws or back being touched much, so that is hard to manage with toddlers. For the safety of her and the children, her owners have decided it is in everyone's best interest if Rosie finds a new home. 🫂

This is what we know about Rosie -

🌹 About 10lbs
🌹 Does not do well with young kids. May do well with older kids who know to respect her space.

😇 Introducing... Bonnie!

We have known Bonnie since she was a tiny baby puppy when she came into the shelter over a year ago. Unfortunately, her family was no longer able to keep her due to changing life circumstances. 😞

Bonnie is an extra special girl. She was born deaf, but that does not slow her down one bit. She is super dog-friendly and LOVES to play with other dogs & people. Bonnie is a little short-stack, weighing under 40lbs.

With her being deaf, she does have a very unique bark. Of course, she has never heard another dog bark, so she's just making her best guess at what a bark should sound like. 🤣

If you have experience with special needs pups and would like to meet Bonnie, please let us know! We are looking for a special family or rescue to take her in and work with her on her sign-language skills. ❤

🥳 We've got our second HOMESCHOOL GRADUATE!

Mr. Rocky has found his perfect FUR-EVER home 🥹❤

As you may know, Rocky is deaf and partially blind. His new family looked right past his disabilities and realized he could be just what they were missing. After taking Rocky on a "Paws & Reflect" week, they knew it was definitely a match made in heaven. 🫂

Rocky now has plenty of humans, even tiny baby humans, to snuggle him!

Not only that, Rocky has found a friend in his family's other senior pup. They have been great playmates with one another, and a beautiful friendship continues to blossom. ☺️
