Love in the Lead Canine Training

Check out Snowy, Gus, Rocky during their training sessions with their owners!🐾 Snowy struggled with reactivity, anxious behavior, and difficulty settling. She also had crate and barrier issues, which was very challenging for her owners. Gus came to us with separation anxiety, dog reactivity, and a severe lack of confidence in new situations. His anxious and insecure behavior made managing him a daily struggle for his family. Rocky exhibited intense reactivity and had trouble staying calm and focused, even despite training with another company. His challenges made outings and day-to-day interactions particularly difficult for his owners. Over four weeks, these remarkable dogs underwent a tailored training program that included obedience work, behavior modification, counter-conditioning, confidence-building exercises, and desensitization techniques. Before heading home, each dog participated in private lessons with their owners to ensure a smooth transition. We’re thrilled to see them back with their families and can’t wait to hear updates on their continued progress! 💙

Check out our 3 week program graduates! 🎓 These dogs came into training due to a variety of behavioral issues such as: •jumping and mouthy behavior •pulling on leash •reactivity •fear based behavior •low confidence •inability to settle •high energy/arousal •grooming/handling issues •poor house & crate behavior All of these dogs also lacked obedience and focus around distractions. We address the overall mindset of each dog as well as improving their obedience. All these dogs have made huge progress these past few weeks and we are so proud of how far they have come! He has learned tasks such as bracing and counter-balance support. He started his placement training with his owner/handler last weekend! Ever feel like your puppy’s just pretending to potty outside, only to come inside and go on your floor? 😅 Potty training can be a real struggle, but don’t worry—you’re not alone! Here are three easy tips to help stop those ‘just missed it’ accidents: 🕰️ Set a Water Schedule: Give water at set times to make potty needs more predictable. Consistency goes a long way! 🐕 Leash for Potty Breaks: Keep them on a leash to stay focused—no getting sidetracked by every leaf and blade of grass! Use a command like “go potty” so they know it’s time to do their business. 🚫 No Free Roaming Indoors: Until they’re fully trained, limit their roaming space to prevent accidents. Crates, playpens, and baby gates can be lifesavers during this stage! Stick with it, and soon your pup will be a potty pro!🐾

Struggling to find time for puppy training?⏰🐾🙈👇 Here’s the good news: puppies only need a few minutes of consistent training each day to make a significant impact! By integrating commands like “out,” “come,” and “place” into your daily activities—playtime, walks, and even TV time—you can create valuable learning moments without feeling overwhelmed. Playtime Commands: Incorporate the command “out” during play to reinforce obedience while having fun. Start with a favorite toy, engaging your puppy in a game of tug or fetch. After a brief session, stop moving the toy, calmly say “out,” and hold it still. Offer a treat to encourage your puppy to release it. When they comply, praise them enthusiastically and resume play, reinforcing that letting go leads to more fun. Regular practice during playtime not only teaches this important command but also makes training enjoyable. Recall Practice: During walks, allow your puppy to explore, then call them back using the command “come.” Reward them with treats and praise upon their return. This reinforces the recall command in a real-world context, helping your puppy understand that coming back to you is rewarding and encouraging reliable responses in various environments. Training During TV Time: Use your TV time to teach the “place” command, instructing your puppy to go to a designated spot, like a bed or mat. Guide them to the spot, use the command “place,” and reward them for lying down calmly. Gradually increase the duration they stay there while you watch TV, reinforcing their ability to relax in a defined space. This builds self-control and creates a structured area for your puppy to unwind. This approach boosts your pup’s obedience and strengthens your bond, making daily tasks both fun and educational. Make every moment count for your furry friend!
