Message from Owner: The day before Riley was rescuded from the parking lot at my apt. complex, he was seen holding on this mothers while she dragged him along the ground. He was the runt and starving. The next day my friend drove up to him on her scooter, picked him up, set him in the back basket, and came to me to learn how to care for him. I am a retired RVT from UC Davis. Being ill herself, I went to her apmt to feed her and administer medicines. I brought Riley to my place daily for socialization and play with my 2 kitties. It wasn't long before my friend couldn't care for him, so Riley moved in with me permanently. For the first 2 years of a cat's life, they can only go outside for leash walks. Riley is 4 months past 2yrs and He goes for walks with my dog and my 2 other cats in the complex close to my apt. For 2 months I was letting the cats go outside unattended. They Stayed near my apmt, and it was so cute that they would check in with me just like children. On the morning of the 14th of August, my fur babies and I took our walks as usual. The two boy kittys went back out to play. Riley did not come back.

Description: 2 yr. Old, 12-pound, neutered male, all black with Yellow eyes. He is Microchipped and up to date on his vaccinations except for his second FELV, which he is supposed to receive on 8\22.

When Mike drove up the road (Positas Rd 200 feet) to his hse he noticed Bentley. Mike went into his hse to get a bandage. When returning to the van he heard Bentley jump out of window in the dark night. Spread the great news: Sterling has been reunited with his family after 2 days, 1 hours! Here is a picture of him home safe and sound :)

"This morning I received a call from an amazingly friendly & thoughtful neighbor who noticed a "new face" around the food bowls she leaves out for the neighborhood kitties. He didn't seem scared to her but he seemed confused; he seemed like an "inside kitty" because he wanted to go past another neighbor's fence but didn't know if he should go over or under it.
She recognized him as the "missing cat"
from Nextdoor and the posters around the neighborhood and called me. As soon as I received the call, we immediately drove over to the area where he was seen as by the grace of God, we found our little man curled up along the fenceline under some trees enjoying the shade; he allowed me to approach him and instantly curled up in my arms. Sterling is doing very well despite being out the past few days in the elements - other than a stuffy nose & some eye goop, he has no cuts, scratches and bruises and seems to have energy and be thrilled to be back home! I just want to shout out my neighbor Kristina and everyone else on here, around the neighborhood, and personal friends for being there for me and keeping Sterling in your thoughts and prayers over the past few days. I am eternally grateful to all of you, and just overwhelmed with relief that my best friend is back home, *NEVER* give up hope 💯🙏🏼"
