Jope Info Session
One thing about vet med is there is no shortage of great people to work with! We were so lucky to have had the @skoop_inc team volunteer some time with us on Friday to help out with our rescue surgery day in partnership with @eccentrickittens We were also able to get our veterinary intern from Arizona up close and personal with some high volume surgery and training with one of the best DVMs to ever walk through our door.

Day 2 wrap up with @bronxcommunitycats and @positivetails! These guys are absolutely amazing and we are happy to have been able to be a source of care and compassion for those who have had limited options. Veterinary care is very important and we understand it can be a huge financial burden for some. Kudos to organizations like the @aspca and @nycacc who is able to get funding to do these types of projects everyday!

bronxcommunitycats For those of you who view our Stories, you already saw our big announcement yesterday: namely, we partnered with Riverside Animal Hospital North and Positive Tails for our first two spay/neuter clinics for Bronx pet owners (held on Monday and today)!
We can get into the specifics of the program for interested rescuers in a separate post (comment below if you would like to learn more). We have already lined up a veterinary partner for January and are reaching out to other practices to see how they can help. But for today, we just want to celebrate 24 owned cats from The Bronx receiving such an amazing opportunity to lead happier, healthier lives!
We want to offer our sincerest thanks to Quisha and the team at Riverside Animal Hospital for their leadership, professionalism, and generous provision of services; Erica and the team at Positive Tails for their organizational support and dedication to our community; to Iris Lugo for helping with translation services; and to Osi for assisting with transport. Our ofrenda which was designed and put together by our amazing LVT Michelle will be on display from 10/27 - 11/2. Anyone (regardless of if you are a client or not) is welcome to stop in for a viewing or to take pictures. If you would like to have your loved one added to the ofrenda please give the photo to one of our team members and we will add it for you. We kindly ask that the display is not touched but also for visitors to be mindful of pets and children near the display. Thank you in advance from the Riverside Family.

Dias de Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday for remembering the lives of family members and pets who have passed.
Families create “ofrendas” or altars to honor their departed loved ones. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos and the favorite foods. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods and join in the celebrations.
Our loved pets are believed to be our guardians and protectors, therefore we want to celebrate their loyalty and friendship. Dias de los Muertos is celebrated from Oct 27 to Nov 2, Oct 27 is dedicated to the pets that passed away.
Riverside Animal Hospital will be doing an ofrenda to remember our 4-legged friends that passed away. If you would like us to place a picture of your loved furbaby, please bring us a picture. If you can’t come in person, you can email us a picture with your pet’s name.
*Our ofrenda will be up until Nov 2*
