Have you ever heard that certain breeds of dogs are “stubborn” and can’t be trained using positive reinforcement?
Well I call BS!!
Meet Yuki, a Shiba Inu. Shibas are often labeled as stubborn and hard to train. This characteristic stems from their independent nature.
Unfortunately, when certain breeds are regarded as stubborn it can lead people to believe that they can’t be trained without corrections.
The problem with the myth that "some breeds need a firmer hand" than others sets up both dog and owner for an adversarial relationship right from the start.
And that’s not the kind of relationship most people want with their dogs.
Enjoy this clip of Yuki happily learning to go to his mat without the use of force.
