Painting has always been an outlet for me and this year I’ve missed it more than anything!

Having to take a step back to focus on my diploma of graphic design has been a tough decision but one I hope will set me on the next stage of my career journey!

I know Christmas is coming up and it’s an exciting time of year but unfortunately I’ll only be able to take on a limited number of commissions. If you’re interested in giving a commissioned pet portrait to a loved one this year, please reach out early so you don’t miss out!

Hello! It’s been a while since I’ve painted or posted but hoping to share some of my paintings pre-Christmas season with you soon!

To start back though, I saw the wonderful Taylor Swift The Eras Tour on Friday evening in Sydney and it was magical! I’m a long time Swifty, seeing Taylor live 3 times across Aus over the last 10 years. And because I was feeling the magic, I decided to paint Olivia for some weekend fun and relax post-show 💛🧡🩷

And if Taylor’s people are seeing this, Id love to gift this painting to her for touching my life with her art and music for the last 16 years.

Hello! It’s been a wild year so far (cannot believe we’re in September already) and I’m officially closing commissions for Christmas 2023!

I’ve needed to limit my commissions for the remainder of this year and have made the tough decision to close commissions for Christmas. I’m going on a travelling break in December and January! Commissions will open again for February 2024! Gift vouchers are available!

Meet GiGi the miniature long haired dachshund 💛

Gigi comes with a beautiful story, I actually worked with her mum in Canberra back in 2018 and had painted a couple of commissioned portraits for her. Just before our move to Sydney, her dad had reached out to me to commission painting GiGi for her as a birthday surprise! It was so lovely to also catch up with her again before we moved.

If you look closely, GiGi had some gorgeous purples and blues mixed throughout her darker tones and blended in with her blonds.

Haven’t posted a cat in a while and this gorgeous guy popped up in my memories!
Cyril was one of my favourite cat portraits. His eyes are full of electric gold flecks, they’re almost hypnotic!His mum loved the painting!

HELLO 2023! ✨
I hope everyone had a fabulous new year and break!

Introducing my first painting for 2023, meet Pumpkin, the cutest little white cat. Similar to furbabies with black fur, I use a mix of colours to define the white - just very subtly. If you look closely, you can see the pinks, blues, purples and yellows both defining her fur and shadowing her. She’s just the commission I needed to start the year!

On a personal note, I’ve jumpstarted the year with a move to Sydney. Life of a Defence family, we move around a lot and our new posting is back to where our families are. We’re excited to be back!

I’m back in full-throttle at work but this year I'll be taking on my diploma of graphics design on top of Spry Pet Portraits in my spare time. This means I’ll be running on a slightly longer lead time for paintings and recommend coming to be in advance to secure your spot.

Only a few weeks until Christmas and I can start sharing all the paintings that were commissions for the festive season! 🎄

Meet Andie! Not a commission but a gift from me to two of the most wonderful people I’ve met since moving to Canberra! One of the things I love about being a military spouse is being able to move to new locations and meet amazing new people, the only sad part is saying goodbye! I’ll miss Canberra and all the incredible friends and colleagues I’ve made here - but it’s not forever, we’ll all keep in contact.

that I only started calling myself an artist a few years ago?

Since I was a kid, I loved designing, creating and building - whether it be sketching, painting, pottery or even carpentry! Instead of playing sport on a Saturday morning, I attended the local arts centre to learn and create. And although I was accepted to study fine art, I decided to study communications, marketing and design. I’ve used this to fuel my creative passion in my full time career to tell stories and achieve client goals.

Five years ago I started Spry Pet Portraits as a hobby that quickly turned into my , it’s when I could feel confident in myself and call myself an .

I’m forever grateful to do what I love and share it with you! Thank you to everyone who supports me 🙏🏻
