How cool is this new bit of tech. I hope to learn loads with this, just gaining more insight into how they tick.

I great step forwards. Thanks for sharing Chris

Important stuff!

A plea... (Please share)

Periodically the hobby and industry will call on you to help a cause or defend the lobby. Invariably this will be done with surveys of the hobby.

What you keep, how long you've kept it, how many you have and so on and on.

Shop owners, you are of equal vital importance to this process with your rich vein of experience not mined nearly enough over the years.

The government and its mechanisms have become less inclined to be swayed by passionate testimony (although there will always be a place for this) and become much enamored with cold hard data.

When you see links for surveys, yes, they ARE a pain in the arse. Yes, you could be watching Corrie or Emmerdale but the value of your data knows no bounds. For five minutes of your time you are helping the hobby and industry fight against tyrannical antagonists to what we love.

It's all well and good saying we think this many are kept, we think people keep in this way, we think we know what is going on. But only you can tell us. Only you can make the difference.

For all the work REPTA, FBH, RRK and now AHH are doing to defend you, it is only you that can put arrows in the quiver, so we may fire them where they will hit.

Next time you see a survey. Please, please take the time to fill it in, moreover share it, tag others in it and spread the message.

The antis are gaining pace and gaining ground. The fight is intensifying, do not sleep on this. It seems month on month there is another challenge to deal with.

Help your hobby, help your passion.

Peace x

Varanus macraei hopefully going through vitellogenesis (yolk production).
She is here on a breeding loan so hopefully this works out and we can secure her blood line for future generations 🤞

A bit of a stealth clutch from our own F1 girl. Her 1st ever clutch was 1 maybe 2 eggs (only found 1) and they were dumped.
I noticed she was hiding the previous day then she appeared looking like she lad laid. Clutch was perfectly laid and dug into the nest chamber. Not perfect eggs but she nested perfectly so I'll take that for a young female on her 2nd ever clutch.
🤞 for my own F2 babies 😁

Working on our own F2 🤞 The female was born here just over 3 years ago. She had a small clutch a few months ago but no good eggs. Hopefully the start of us breeding prasinus again after a 3 year break.

A positive post today 😁
So we haven't hatched prasinus in over 3 years due to our old girl passing away 😔

But this is her daughter 😁 born and bred here, raised to adulthood. She has just laid her 1st clutch (well 1 egg 😂) but I'm over the moon. Plus it's looks fertile 🤞

Either way it's taken a lot of work to get here and might be our own F2 hatching next year. This makes me incredibly proud of how far we have come. Onwards and upwards!

She's in the hole 😁 2nd night running. She should lay tonight 🤞

🏆 Nature inFocus Photography Awards 2022—Winners 🏆

Out For A Duck—Ratheesh Rajan
Winner—Animal Behaviour

Monitor will eat almost anything. Fish, insects, birds, crabs, snakes—you name it! They even scale trees to raid nests or capture squirrels. But it's not every day that you find a giant lizard holding a Lesser-whistling by its neck. Lesser-whistling Ducks are known to build nests in tree cavities and on the branches of large trees. Sometimes, even high up on a tree is just not high enough!

Yellow tree monitors looking crazy today 😎💛😎💛
They are locked more than they are separate at the moment. So fingers crossed for a good clutch soon 😁

So for me this is one of my proudest moments in keeping the tree monitor complex.
Some might just see a green tree monitor, but the female was hatched and raised here nearly 3 yrs ago. This is the 1st season she has locked 😁 I don't expect much this year but looking forward too
's 1st home grown F2 being born 😁😁😁 Have a great day/night everyone!
