Do you know how much planning goes into my group walks?
Whilst it may look like us dog walkers just pick up a group of dogs in our van and head to a beautiful location and start walking, there is a lot more that goes on behind the scenes like making sure that the right dogs are walked together based on things like, energy levels, play style and confidence 🐾
Before taking on any new dog I head over to see you for a meet and greet, the purpose of the meeting is for you to get to know me and so I can understand if I am the right dog walker for your dog.
During this meeting, it is SO important that you tell us about all of your dogs current behaviours, likes, triggers and dislikes so that I am able to ensure we can offer the right environment for them.
I also ask that once your dog has started walking with me that you keep us updated on any behavioural changes in the home or on walks you have noticed.
I will always work with you and your dog to tackle anything you’re experiencing to ensure that the dogs still get the most out of their walk with me. Sometimes they may need a break from the group walk to focus on certain behaviours, I am happy to do this, I want your dog and all my dogs to enjoy there walks to fullest and will ensure I do everything to make sure this is the case 🐾
I will also be fully transparent with you on anything I notice during my walks with your dog. It may sometimes be a difficult conversation to have, especially if a dog is presenting some new and perhaps less desirable behaviours but our number one priority is the happiness and safety of your dog and the rest of the group ❤️
From the very beginning of meeting me I will be very honest with you - if I don’t think I am the right fit for your dog at this moment in time, I will tell you and I will happily recommend some other amazing dog walkers in our area that I believe will be better suited to your dog.
I am forever learning more and more about dogs, my studying is ongoing and in turn everything I am learning will better all my dogs I walk as I’ll notice subtle signs that maybe others wouldn’t, I can read situations before they escalate and I can help with certain behaviours. If a dog becomes to much in a group, if a new dog upsets the dynamics within a group, is going through a fear period and needs some one on one time, maybe it’s there age, maybe something has happened, behavioural changes can be for many many reasons but I won’t just stop walking that dog, I’ll discuss it with you the owner first and may suggest working with that dog on its own for a period of time to help with this.
My dogs happiness and safety come first ❤️🐾
