One of our long time fosters, Fish is being rushed to the vet this morning. Sometime last night, he either had a stroke or something else. His eyes are bulging, he's wanting hard and he can't seem to walk straight. Dustin Kasch is taking him to Shoreline Veterinary Hospital, PLLC for labwork and to see what the next steps are.

Since we had to cancel our yardsale today, due to the weather - we will still be having our bake sale at the pantry, tomorrow!
We have home made cookies: white chocolate chip macadamia, regular chocolate chip, Buckeye balls, a variety of puppy chow mixes, upside down pineapple cake, and mini cupcakes!

Our window units are struggling with keeping up with this heat. I wish we could afford those wall mounted ac units, as they do bigger areas lol but no one's got thousands to spend. We want to thank everyone that's donated funds towards our pet food pantry, this month (and every month prior.) As of this evening, we were able to successfully raise the needed funds to cover this month's rent - helping us live to fight another month!
For those unaware, our pet food pantry program; JPR Pet Food Pantry - is one of our community outreach programs that provides free pet food & supplies to those in need. Our goal, is to help keep families together, and animals out of our already overly crowded shelter systems.

I sincerely need to win the lottery at those point. This not having the funds raised to cover the rent for our pet food pantry program, this month...is beyond stressing me out. I've spent the past few days networking like crazy, and doing whatever I can to raise funds. Folks are donating, but it's trickling in. I know times are tough for everyone right now, but if I can't make the rent this month....things are going to get so much worse for a lot of the folks we help.
We still need roughly $500+ to make our rent of $860. So, to anyone that sees this, please consider forgoing that cup of coffee tomorrow and consider donating the funds to our organization. If every one of my friends donated what they could, we'd have the rent covered for months!
**We did get approved for two seperate grants for the pantry, but the funds haven't come in yet. Once they do, we will have the pantries rent covered for several months.**

Hi there, as many of you know- I run a small 501c3 nonprofit organization (Jaded Paws Rescue ) that's dedicated to special needs animals. We currently have two kittens that require diapers as they are 100% incontinent. I (their foster mom) am in the Hubert, NC area - but am in Jacksonville weekly for work, as I also run the JPR Pet Food Pantry located at 1009 onsville dr suite A Jacksonville NC. I am so thankful to be doing this thing called rescue. These past 3 years have been some of the toughest of my life, and at some point I wasn't sure I'd make it out on the other side (Especially after I first got sick.) So, today while I was in the office waiting for our newest Intake to come in (Coraline.) I sat and watched two of our special needs babies (Chickpea & Ember) sleeping soundly in their playpen, after a chaotic play session. They are so much fun to watch ♡♡
As a kid, this rescue life, was my dream job...and to this day, it still is...I honestly couldn't imagine doing anything else.

More about these two sanctuary babies:
*Chickpea (the calico) has moderate cerebellar hyperplasia or CH. It affects her fine motor skills like standing and even walking. She requires daily assistance with otherwise normal tasks, such as getting in and out of her litter boxes, eatin/drinking, grooming herself etc.
*Ember (the little orange female) came to us with a neurological issue, causing her back end not to work properly. She can sometimes stand and utilize all of her limbs, but it's like her brain and back legs don't properly communicate and they buckle under her. She is also 100% incontinent, and requires her bowels and bladder to be mannualy expressed multiple times a day.

We are already starting to field calls from desperate pet parents. Every year it's the same thing, "I brought fluffy to the festivities and he or she panicked and took off." Or "I found a scared dog running down the streets, running from the loud bangs."
People..please leave your pets at home. They are not as interested in watching the fireworks as you are. Also, if you know your pet doesn't handle it well, forgo the festivities and stay home with them, when things start popping off. It's just not worth it, and it'll keep so much heart ache from happening.
We are in need of premie baby diapers, for little Ember ♡ Since she is 100% incontinent, she has to wear diapers anytime she's out of her crate/playpen. We have disposable ones, as well as Washable ones in our Amazon wishlist, for anyone able to help us ♡

Sitka update ♡ His coat is starting to look amazing, and he's finally starting to gain some weight! He still has a logn way to go, as we are treating him for heartworm disease. Just look how happy he is though ♡ he makes our hearts melt.

The Jaded Paws Rescue has the opportunity to pick up several hundreds of pounds of pet food this Saturday, thanks to the Greater Good charities.
