The Guernsey Goat Society While we welcome all breeds of goat, the Society does have special objectives relating to the Royal Golden Guernsey Goat, a recognised rare breed.

The origin of Golden Guernsey Goats is uncertain although golden goats have been in the Bailiwick for many years. They were registered in the Society's general herd book from 1922 until 1965 when their own section was formed. Miss Milbourne of L'Ancresse, Guernsey played a large part in reviving the breed in the 1930's and managed to retain her flock during the occupation and on her death her anim

als passed into the care of a trust. The Golden Guernsey is distinguished by it's golden skin and hair which often takes a lighter look. They are a fine b***d animal with a straight or slightly dished facial line, slender neck and ears with a slight upturn at the tip. It has a pleasant, gentle temperament and this together with a steady milk yield and reliability in food conversion makes it an economic proposition as a family animal

The Golden Guernsey Goat breed has officially been granted a Royal title, becoming formally known henceforth as the 'Royal Golden Guernsey Goat'. It is the first time in recent history that the protected title has been granted to a livestock breed and Royal titles are granted sparingly, on the advice of the Cabinet Office with strict standards applied. 🐐

And she did it!! 🎉🤩

The incredible 10year old Isabella Robilliard has achieved the amazing challenge of climbing to the peak of Scafell Pike Mountain today!! What an achievement 🙌🏻.🙌🏻

Everyone at the Hospice is so, so proud of her and incredibly grateful for raising money for our charity.

The Young Stock Show will take place at The Vintage Agricultural Show on Saturday 3rd August. The Annual Show will be at the driving society field, Le Chene, Forest on Saturday 24th August.

Hold onto your horns, folks! DustDevil Helicopters recently dropped an udderly incredible aerial snapshot near Bollon – and you've goat to see it to bleat-lieve it! 📸🐐

How do you weigh your dairy goat?
There is a chart you can download from my website that has a cart that changes cm measured behind the front legs to kg. We have checked many dairy goats when we weight them on our scales and their is excellent correlation. You need the correct weights to give the right amount of drench etc. See chart on https://goatvetoz.com.au/worms
