And another sleeping pup. This gorgeous boy is Odin a Cane x Presa with the most striking tiger stripes.

He did so well today. Despite his size and amazing upbringing, he's pretty worried about life.

We had to take things slowly, and he had lots of breaks to process what was happening and let me know where it hurt...by getting up and leaving, but he came back and let me carry on!

He didn't quite manage to fall asleep during his massage but drifted off as soon as he got home💜

It's going to be a hot weekend, please make sure you keep your best friends safe and if the worst happens then follow the advise below from the lovely team at the Veterinary Wellness Centre

🥵 HEATSTROKE WARNING ⚠️

If your dog is showing ANY signs of heatstroke:
excessive panting, drooling, bright red/ pale gums, increased heart rate, lethargy, difficulty breathing, agitation, vomiting, diarrhoea, disorientation, weakness, seizures or collapse

Immediately get them WET and call your vet (our number is 0131 516 2499 ) and travel there ASAP.

By getting them WET we mean you submerge them (protecting their head) in COLD water or have running cold water (hose or repeated buckets) over them.

You will not cause shock by using water that is too cold - tepid water is NOT recommended, and neither are soaked towels (which quickly heat up and do not help). You can offer your dog some water to drink but do not try to force anything into their mouth (especially not lemon juice!)

Most importantly, stay safe - miss out your walk on hot days, or go in the early morning or late evening when it is cooler. No dog dies from missing one walk, but sadly, every year, some do from exercise-induced heatstroke. Don't be tempted to leave your dog in the car even for a few minutes.

Seems sleeping dogs are going to be a theme...fantastic Fizz having a post massage snooze whilst I treated Moss with Manual Lymphatic Drainage massage.

Fizz recently retired from agility after managing to get to Crufts again this year with her young handler. She has arthritis and greatly benefits from her sessions.

The most handsome Erich enjoying a post massage snooze.

I've been seeing Erich for a while as he benefits greatly from massage to help him cope with his numerous medical conditions, he tends to not settle as he is so busy trying to hunt out the treats!Maybe having the calming influence of Lennie helped today, who was so tired after being at the groomers ge came in made himself at home and fell sound asleep.

Sleepy Struan.

Struan slipped and hurt his shoulder a few weeks ago and was seen by the vet who agreed massage would help.

Struan is a sensitive soul and can find people and touch a bit much, so it was a total surprise to me, and his humum, to see that after working on all the sore bits he was relaxed and comfortable enough to fall asleep!!

What a total superstar 💜

It's been a week of dogs falling asleep after massage sessions, wee Herbie has had a pretty sore back recently, and his vet agreed massage would be just the ticket.

You can see in the 2nd photo he has a lot of ridges down the left side of his back...you might be surprised to know that the right side was just as bad but this photo was taken half way through the session and I'd finished the right side!

These coat changes can correspond to muscle changes or myofascial pain and can be helped with massage.

Despite this being a tough session for him, Herbie did something he's never managed before in a massage... he fell asleep.

Brave little pup.

Gotta love a Sammi.

Gorgeous Roxie was in after her humum noticed her gait wasn't quite right, and sure enough when I saw the videos there is a very subtle head bob when she walks.

Gait analysis (watching how the dog moves) takes time and skill and is something we have been taught during our course at the Canine Massage Therapy Centre , I've been lucky enough to have further training with the Canine Conditioning Academy to help identify subtle changes in the dogs body and posture.

After a few sessions Roxie has been back at agility and will get back out on the rig doing what she does best!

Believe it or not this isn't a spaniel trying to make a getaway....she's sound asleep after letting me work on a few wee ouchy bits.

Following a slip in agility she was booked in for a few sessions to make sure she is fighting fit to carry on the season.

So the ticks are out in force this year, using a repellent alongside other treatments can help reduce the number you find on your dogs.

Where possible I try any use natural repellent to reduce any risk to me, the dogs and the environment from harsh chemicals.

And I'm loving this spray, it smells great, kept thd midges away from me and significantly reduced the number of ticks I found on the cccm dogs!

I have a few bottles for sale if anybody would like some.

100ml bottle £8

250ml bottle £16
