Sharing this sign as a reminder as we enter this heat wave!

Pavement is brutal for our fur friends, and often their loyalty to us will override showing us that they’re in pain.

The best places for our pups are in our rooms with us and the AC, or in the grass with shade if they are out! As always, and especially in the heat, ensure they always have access to fresh, clean water!

Happy Spring! 🌸

We are entering busy season (although, you all have kept “slow season” busy this year too- I can’t thank you enough!) and I will be scheduling a little differently this year. I am not scheduling out dates as far as in the past, but am taking dates currently through May.

Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting announcements between now and the end of May, and the scheduling shift will make sense! 😍

With the holidays comes some scheduling shifts. Please see below for dates I will not be scheduling care!

December
23rd-26th no visits, Merry Christmas!
31st- no visits scheduled past 5PM

January
1st- visits begin at 10:30 AM
6-8th no visits
17th- normal scheduling until 1 PM
18th- no visits
19th- scheduling late afternoon visits

*please note: any text/email communications will be responded to when normal scheduling resumes. Communications will not be answered on off days. Thank you!*

GOOD NEWS- I’ve had some slots open up for weekday letouts, and have more availability for drop in care moving into the fall and winter.

It’s a hot one out there today!☀️

On days with a heat index as high as this one, remember that if we are already sweating, our furry friends are working overtime to stay cool.

🐾 Make sure to keep exercise to a minimum and keep outdoor time short and in the shade as much as possible.

🐾 When outside.. AVOID PAVEMENT- if we wouldn’t want to walk barefoot on it, the pavement can hurt their paws too!

🐾 Keep water available at all times

🐾 For our water loving friends, like Sully, hose them down with cool (not icy 🧊) water

🐾 Provide fans and A/C inside whenever possible!

This not so little, little girl, has been working hard on her ground manners, learning how to hold a bit and lunge with one, and getting past her fear of all things vaccine related!

It’s always fun to watch animals put puzzle pieces in place, and progress a little more each session. No two animals learn exactly the same way, and it’s my favorite kind of challenge to determine what works best for each critter!

Everybody meet Storm!

He has been working on lots of “puppy things” lately, but in this video here, he is focusing on threshold practice using “wait” “okay” and “come”

This room is his favorite in his house, and he’d often like to enter without permission to see if his kitty siblings are in there to play. He is a smart boy who catches on quickly with consistency. Look how politely he is waiting to be told to enter/exit the room!

It’s been busy around here!

Thanks to your continued support of me and my business, I have to announce that I will not be taking on any new clients until at least early fall!

I will be starting a waitlist in the meantime, and will be able to incorporate new clients based on needs from there.

While I’m sad that I have to turn newcomers down for now- I have to extend a HUGE thank you to all of you who have given my name out, and continued to support my services.

The future is bright! ⭐️

A fun Sammie video to demonstrate that you don’t always need obstacles for obstacle practice! Sometimes, rainy days call for creativity, and this was the result on one of those days!

Hoof ‘N Hound Pet Care was created to provide the best love and care for your four-legged friends while you can’t be around. Household critters and farm animals alike, your friends will experience the highest quality of care as if you were caring for them yourselves. Graduating from UNH with a B.S. in Equine Studies: Equine Science, spending time as a farm hand, and previously being a technician in a mixed animal veterinary clinic, I am well suited to care for animals of all types, and offer a variety of services to ensure your animals are getting all the care and exercise they need! While this is a new business itself, I am not new to the world of animal care and have been in charge of “farm sitting” while owners are away since I was 16-years-old. You can trust that I will be your animals best friend, and your peace of mind while you’re away!
