Glover made it through surgery and is back at his foster home resting after staying overnight at BP for observation. His surgery went well but there is some concern about a sore that has developed around the ankle area close to where the surgery was done. The specialist mentioned that some of his leg bone is gone from the initial injury from being hit by a car. Glover got a new splint and we will work with his vet to come up with a plan for physical therapy and more weekly bandage changes. We also found out that he has a tooth with an exposed root that will eventually need to be pulled at a later time. Thanks to everyone that has donated to his medical care. We greatly appreciate it! Stay tuned for more updates on this sweet boy. ❤️🩹
After 3.5 months Glover’s open leg wounds from being hit by a car back in December have healed enough for him to have surgery today with a specialist. At the moment his leg is being supported by a splint so he is able to walk. Today the specialist will be trying to repair and stabilize his back right leg so he will be able to walk with only minimal assistance possibly from a brace. This surgery is expensive but it’s our best option to save his leg as he doesn’t make a good candidate for amputation. Please keep this sweet guy in your thoughts today and if you would like to donate to help cover the cost of Glover’s surgery we would greatly appreciate it! ❤️

Say Hello to Max #2!
Max #2 came in recently underweight and had terrible rash on his chest, front paws, under his arms, and on other parts of his body along with ear issues. His foster family has been working hard putting some weight on him and getting his skin issues under control but his skin may need ongoing upkeep his entire life. He will be seeing the vet this week for an exam and get up-to-date on vaccinations. He also needs to be neutered. We are glad we are able to help this sweet boy with your support. ❤️
It Takes A Village! 🙌🏻
Recently we were contacted by Quincy's Hope Canine Coalition & Education a rescue in North Florida about three English Bulldogs that had been abandoned at a vet clinic in the Birmingham area. Mom and 2 puppies have spent 4 months at the Trussville Animal Hospital being cared for while they went through the proper channels to get the owner to legally surrender them. Before we could commit to taking them we had to find them foster homes and transport into Florida and over to Jacksonville. By luck one of our volunteers was in Birmingham for work and they got to hitch a ride with her to Panama City Beach and spend a few days before a volunteer from QHCC could help us get them to Tallahassee and our volunteers could get them to Jacksonville. Lots of work went into getting these 3 into rescue so please welcome Blue (momma) and puppies Bama (female puppy) & Bruce (male puppy) to FEBR! A big thank you to their fosters and transporters! We are excited to see their personalities blossom as they experience many firsts as we get them ready for adoption into their forever homes. Stay tuned for our special fundraiser for these 3 cuties to help pay for their care while they are with us. ❤️

Congratulations to Whiskey (now Oscar) on his recent adoption! 🐾❤️🐾
Say Hello to Daisy! ❤️
Daisy came into FEBR recently after being found tied to a bench in Miami. She has already been to our vet for vaccines and she is heartworm negative. Her labs came back with elevatated kidney enzymes so there’s a chance she could be in early stages of kidney disease and she was also treated for a UTI. Today she went back to be spayed and her kidney enzymes remain high so she will be started on a special food and will continue meds for her UTI. She is a very happy and sweet girl so we are hoping that we can get her feeling better soon!
Update on Bonkers ❤️
At the end of last week Bonkers had soft palate and nare surgeries to help with his breathing and regurgitation issues along with being neutered. During these procedures they found that he had an infection with hard tissue on the roof of his mouth. It’s unsure if this is the cause of his regurgitation or the result of throwing up stomach acid regularly. A biopsy was done so we can make sure we put him on the correct meds to treat this with a follow up appointment in a few weeks. The poor guy has had a rough recovery at his foster home but is doing a bit better today.
GOES TO PRINT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 4 DAYS! 😃
GOES TO PRINT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 3 DAYS! ❤️
Congratulations to Gunner on his recent adoption! 🐾❤️🐾
Congratulations to Clark on his recent adoption! He’s all fixed up and ready to take on new adventures with his forever family. ❤️
Update on Angel and Matilda ❤️❤️
After a year of unsuccessfully trying to find a forever home for both of them, we made the difficult decision to separate them to see how they would do. And to our surprise, they did amazing!
Angel joined one of our foster families that had no other dogs/cats. She ended up being such a diva when she was no longer competing with Matilda for pets, space, toys, and love. They fell in love with her as much as she fell in love with them so we knew she had found her forever family. Congratulations to Angel we couldn’t have picked a better family for you!
Matilda stay with her foster mom and here is a little update on her. Matilda loves to be with humans and getting lots of attention. She will need to go to a forever home with no dogs or cats. She is fine with other dogs outside of her home. She would do best with older children because she’s very food motivated. For the most part she is crate and house trained but will mark on her bedding if given the opportunity. She walks well on a leash but honestly, doesn’t have a ton of motivation to go anywhere fast! She loves to sunbathe so having a yard would be a bonus but not completely necessary. This sweet girl would love to find a home that would love and treat her like the queen she is!
If you are interested in taking on Queen Matilda please go to our website to view our adoption process and fill out an application: https://www.floridaenglishbulldogrescue.com/

Kicking off Monday with Kenji’s soccer skills. This big teddy bear is looking for a home to call his own with no other dogs. He loves meeting people and lets them love on him. He loves attention and will paw you when he needs some. He is well mannered and sweet. ❤️
Age Ain't Nothing But A Number! We have several sweet older dogs like Rosie looking for a great forever home. Rosie came into FEBR with her 2 sons as retired breeders. She is now spayed and looking forward to no more days taking care of puppies. She gets along great with the cats and chickens at her foster home but would love a home as the only dog so she can finally get the love and attention she deserves! If you are interested in finding out more about adoption and filling out an application please visit our website: https://www.floridaenglishbulldogrescue.com/
Happy Monday! 😃 Start off your week with as much excitement as Boozy has cruising in his new wheels for the first time. Let’s Go!
Cooper went into surgery yesterday for a Total Ear Canal Ablation. Ear surgery went well but when they were waking him up he was struggling to get enough oxygen so they reintubated him. An emergency surgery to shorten his soft palate and removal of his saccules had to be done. He was woken back up and monitored and was able to breathe better on his own with no assistance. He will be spending the next few days recovering and being monitored at the vet. If you would like to help with his extra medical expenses we would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for helping us help Cooper!
Sorry everyone we had some technical difficulties going live tonight to do the raffle! But here is the video and thank you to everyone that entered we raised $1,700. Congratulations to our winner, we will be reaching out shortly.
Boozy has been released from the emergency vet and is feeling better but we have a long way to go to get this little guy fixed up. We still have a big medical bill to pay for his stay at the vet so if you would like to help please donate for your chance to win Universal Studios tickets. Deadline will be 6PM Wednesday and we will draw the winner at 7:30PM EST. Here is the link: https://florida-english-bulldog-rescue.square.site/raffle-for-boozy
We interrupt your Tuesday with an important message from a whiny Frenchie! Did you know that The Florida English Bulldog Rescue spends $100,000 each year on the dogs that come into rescue? Holy Bulldogs Batman! 😳 Planning is currently underway for the 5th Annual Bulldog Burlesque and one of the biggest tasks is finding sponsors. With close to 20 dogs in rescue each month there is a huge need for our largest fundraiser especially this year. Each event FEBR sets out to raise more money than the year before and this year the goal is $50,000! Mo Money, Mo Bulldogs. 💰 So who wants to help FEBR reach this goal? If Louie can’t find some help we will never hear the end of it! Please visit https://bulldogburlesque.com/ to learn more about sponsorship opportunities.
