Update on Halo

When we got Halo he was at deaths door, he wasn’t eating and extremely lethargic laying at the bottom of his tank. We honestly thought he wasn’t going to make it but boy were we wrong. Halo is a fighter and he’s made such significant improvement since we got him. He went from nearly dead to swimming around, eating and finding interest in everything around him! If Halo keeps improving at this rate he will be available for adoption in a month. We will post more updates as they come and post him up when he’s available for adoption. Halo deserves an amazing home. ❤️

Update on Hyde

When we first posted this boy he never had a name but based on his personality we named him Hyde! When we got Hyde he was suffering from bloat due to constipation and not being fed properly (and he has a tail nip). Hyde has been teetering back and forth between being stuck floating to being able to swim freely with no issues. As of right now he’s doing great and swimming around with no issues. If he has no issues for a whole month he will be available for adoption! We will keep posting updates with any changes and once he is ready for adoption we will post him up with his info and adoption availability! ❤️

Update on Valentino

So when we first posted this boy he never had a name but based on his color and personality decided to name him Valentino or Val for short! When we first got Val he was suffering from a bad infection in his swim bladder, he was floating on his side and could move much. Val does still have a swim bladder infection but with proper treatment has been doing much better than he was. He still floats to the top but he is able to swim around and seems overall happier than he was before. We aren’t sure when Val will be available for adoption because he still has quite a bit of healing to do however we will keep everyone updated and let you all know when Val is ready to leave to his forever home! ❤️

Update on Mojo

When we go Mojo he had pretty significant Fin Rot. His tail was so rotten and tattered that he was mistaken as a Double Tail but now after some healing and inspection we believe him to be a Veiltail! Only time and more healing will tell. He is doing much better than he was before but infortunately he still has Fin Rot he is being treated for. With treatment he will eventually be 100% healthy! Mojo will not be up for adoption as we decided to keep him apart of our little family, luckily we have 3 other Male Betta Fish that’ll eventually be healthy enough for adoption! ❤️😁

15/05/2024

Hey everyone! We will be giving updates on all of our Rescues Tomorrow! Monita will be getting videos of each and every one of the Betta Fish and info on their progress! We are happy to say they are all good updates! 😁

Look at how much he is moving around! He went from barely moving and almost dead to swimming around and finally eating! 😁

Update on Halo

To be quite honest with you when we first got Halo he wasn’t looking great, he was in such rough shape we thought he would die in our care. We got him 04/26/14 and over the past 5 days we can’t believe he has improved as much as he has and as quickly as he has. From when we got him up until yesterday he was just sitting at the bottom of the tank occasionally move to a different spot or go up for air and come right back down again, but since last night he has been swimming around a little while chilling at the top and even ate some food for me! He’s a fighter, we have a really good feeling now that he will make it! We will continue updating on Halo’s Progress! 🙂

Here is some info with better photos of our newest Rescue!

Name: Halo
Color: White
S*x: Male
Type: Halfmoon
Ailment: Ammonia Poisoning

Halo is doing a little bit better than when we first got him, however he still has a long way to go. We named him Halo because with the conditions we found him in (and his color), he shouldn’t be here right now. We are hoping Halo continues to improve even if it’s slowly, we will keep everyone updated on his progress! ❤️

Meet Halo! Halo was taken from horrible conditions in his cup, cloudy, full of Ammonia (Urine) and he wasn’t overall doing well. Unfortunately he still isn’t doing well, we have him set up in a temporary 1.5 tank until his other tank is ready (he will be put in the other larger tank later today). He is currently on the bottom of the tank, we are hoping he starts to be a little more lively soon but as of right now we aren’t quite sure he is gonna make it, but we hoping for the best!

Daily Betta Fact!

An interesting and lesser-known fact about betta fish is that they possess a specialized organ called the labyrinth organ, which allows them to breathe air directly from the surface. This adaptation enables bettas to survive in oxygen-deprived environments, such as shallow puddles and stagnant waters, where other fish might struggle. Additionally, it allows them to thrive in low-oxygen aquariums as long as they have access to the water's surface. This unique feature is one reason why bettas are often kept in small tanks or bowls without aeration, although providing a properly filtered and aerated tank is still recommended for their overall health and well-being.

From now on I will be posting 1 Fact about Betta Fish Daily. Knowledge is power and Betta Fish are interesting! 😁

UPDATE ON: RED/GREEN DOUBLE TAIL HALFMOON MALE

Unfortunately he hasn’t made much progress, his sides are swollen and you can see an air bubble/fluid build up in his abdomen area. We believe he has an infection and are treating him with special medication. We are hoping to see some improvement over the next few days to a week. Please keep this beautiful boy in your thoughts as we continue working with him. We will continue to update you on him and his progress. ❤️

UPDATE ON: TEAL/BLUE & RED HALFMOON MALE

This Boy was suffering from issues with his Swim Bladder and was floating at the top of his tank, we have been fasting him to see if over feeding was the issue and we believe that it was. He also has a missing chunk of his tail (unown as to how that happened, it was like that when we got him) but not to worry as I’ve checked and he has no signs of fin rot. He is currently doing amazingly and we will start feeding him again in another day or two. Once he has been symptom free for atleast 2 Weeks he will be available for adopting! If you’re interested please inquire about him asap so you can be put on a list of potential adopters and we will get back to you! 😁

Hey everyone, we wanted to give you all an update on Mojo! So we got Mojo 6 Days ago on April 16th. He was in rough shape, he didn’t have much color to him, he clearly has Fin Rot and he overall didn’t look like a happy fish. Since we got him Monita started treatments by putting medication in his tank everyday to help get rid of the Fin Rot and help his Tail Fins heal. Look at how happy and beautiful he is now! Now don’t get me wrong, he still has a way to go buuuut he has done fantastic in just the past 6 Days we have had him! And some even better news, he has his Forever Home! Considering how long he will have to be with us (and Monita has already fallen in love with him) we have decided to keep him! He was our first rescue and he will be our Page Mascot! Check out below the Before & After Pictures only 2 Days Apart, incredible! 😍
(I will be posting the most recent photo of him when I get an opportunity to take a picture of him, he is truly a gorgeous fish!)

So what do you need in order adopt a Betta from us?

You need a 5 Gallon Tank, NO SMALLER. Contrary to popular belief they need a lot of space to swim, 5 Gallons is the minimum for a happy life!

You need a filtration system to keep their tank clean, a clean tank creates a happy fish!

You need a heater to keep their tank between 75-80 degrees, if not they very well could become ill!

You need decor, they love to have places to hide and rest!

If Male they CANNOT be housed together (or with other fish) they can be VERY territorial and that never ends well for any fish involved.

If Female they can be housed in a sorority but you MUST have a larger tank and it is preferred to keep them in odd numbers as to try and keep bullying of the other females to a minimum. Also LOTS of hiding places. Monita will be explaining more if you’re planning on doing this.

If you do not meet any of the requirements above we will not be adopting any fish we have to you. You must show proof to us of your set up before adoption happens!

Adoption Fee is a flat rate of $15 no matter how much it costs us for the fish, we do this so we can continue to take care of the other fish still with us (and future Betta’s we rescue). All money we get from the adoptions goes straight to the fish, we are a non-profit!
