Welcome!
Welcome to Red Dog Pet Care! I am Amanda, and I am the owner and only employee of Red Dog Pet Care. After graduating with a BS in Animal Science with a duel focus on small animals (dogs and cats) and equine management, I returned to work for the same small animal veterinary hospital I started working at as a teenager. I worked my way up from kennel assistant, to receptionist, to technician, to surgery technician, and finally to practice manager over a span of 20 years.
In 2017 I decided to take a step back from the stress of veterinary medicine management and take a more direct focus on what I love, animals. I have been pet sitting and barn sitting in addition to my work in veterinary medicine for over 15 years. I learned the business from my mother, who pet sat for most of my childhood. I always loved accompanying her on her visits and upon her retirement from pet sitting, I took over several of her clients when I was just a teenager.
​My husband and I have two dogs (Finn and Jonny) and two cats (Mango and Shrimp). I enjoy taking my dogs through obedience and agility training (and hoping to start some scent work soon). I practice only positive reinforcement training. I am a beginner runner, and would love to run with your dog too (1-2 miles at a moderate pace).
