Looking for a forever home!!

Maxwell Rover AKA MAX, BUBI, BUBBA, BUBS, BUBBER, MAXY
German Shepherd Mix
DOB September 5th, 2020 (Yup! A covid pup!)

I’m looking for a human who knows/wants a German Shepherd (mix) breed and who wants a best buddy to do almost everything with (or lots of activities, jobs, or agility training, for example). Having some land would be an asset. Max could love another high energy friend in the same household and can be a solo guy for an active, adventurous family since including him in travels and experiences would be easy to accommodate.

He was raised with another dog, and is well-socialized with dogs and humans (mostly adults), but is confused about small children, and small wheeled items like skateboards, and thinks they need herding.

He’s well-behaved, obedient, loving, playful (and sometimes uses his front teeth to nip to play). He's cuddly, the best buddy, insanely curious about what you’re up to, and is a great alarm clock.

He loves playing in the pool/water and chasing you around. He loves to chew his bones, and taking the stuffing out of toys is a favourite. He likes playing tug, but LOVES playing bumper (ball, frisbee) fetch, and destroying sticks. He also likes puzzles.

He’s fully trained and has completed training at Merrimutt.
He doesn’t know how to play fight (wrestle) with humans because he is not a small guy. . He also likes slapping to play with dogs and humans.

Max enjoys a few times down the slide if you’re nearby a park. He’s a good walker and won’t stop if you don’t stop. So, make sure you check his paws. His body language says hackles up, bark to say hi!, and play bow.

He likes chasing squirrels and birds, and can be called off large birds like ducks and geese… even in a pond.

He has had digestive issues and a limited ingredient food is best unless you can afford a raw diet. He cannot eat anything with feathers or it’s diarrhea (this is not allergy tested) but a lot of trial and error has been done to discover what foods work for him.

My name is Milo and I’m a labradoodle, I’m currently looking for my forever family! Could it be you?
I’m a sweet boy who is neutered(whatever that means) and up to date on all my shots! I currently weigh in at about 60lbs of love! I’m 9 months which means I still have some maturing to do. I like walks and hanging with my dog friends. I’ve met some cats but they don’t seem to interest me too much. I am working on my training but I’m pretty smart and know quite a few commands. Sit, down, speak and come are things I’m doing pretty good at now. At least that’s what they tell me!
I’m looking for a home with a nice yard, I did the condo living thing and it’s just not for me!
Im looking for a home that can give me the best life. I’m good with kids, and dogs, and I love car rides. I’m an active boy looking for an active family to spend the rest of my life with! I can sometimes be a little mouthy when I’m playing but I’m working on that. I’m crate trained and relax quietly. Hello Merrimutt Fans,
We still have a few available spaces in our upcoming puppy class starting Tuesday November 15th at 6:00 PM. If you know someone with a new puppy or have recently acquired a new family member yourself and are looking to start them off on the right paw, please reach out to us at [email protected] to get their enrollment started. Puppies should be 5 months or younger and have at least 2 sets of vaccinations including Bordetella (kennel cough) before enrolling in group classes.

Well Hello friends! My smile says it all!! My name is Lottie (means little lady) and I’m an 11 month old German Shorthaired Pointer! I’m a very friendly, energetic and enthusiastic girl looking for my forever home. I’m up to date on my vaccines and spayed! I’ve been doing really well with my training here at the Merrimutt. I was afraid of everything when I first came to stay here but I’m doing much better! I’m still very shy when I find something I’m not sure about, but I warm up quickly and I’m starting to explore a lot more! My foster mom says I’m making awesome strides with my manners too!
I’m really starting to get the hang of making doggie friends here…(at first i was scared of them). I now wrestle with my foster brother and sisters and I really enjoy playing in the dog yard here! Anyone looking to adopt me needs to know I’ll require exercise regularly and that I’ll need to continue my training (I’m super smart and want to be challenged)

We have a puppy class set to begin on Tuesday July 19th at 6:00 PM and still have a few available spaces. Puppies should have 2nd set of vaccinations including Bordetella (kennel cough). This class is 4 sessions (hour long) and teaches basic obedience commands, problem behavior management and allows puppies to learn social skills through play with their peers as well as select adult mentor dogs. Check out our new Level Up training classes! We have broken down our obedience program into smaller units that allow us to focus on what you need the most. Level 1 focuses on you how to build a partnership with your dog, loose leash walking skills and a place command. Level 2 Sit Happens focuses on your obedience cues such as sit, down and holding those commands (stay). Level 3 Recall Games teaches you how to create a fun and reliable recall using fun games. Other units will be added. Repeat the units as needed if you want to keep improving your skills, we will make the class more challenging for you as you advance. If you have completed a previous full obedience program with us you can jump right in to Level 1, 2 , or 3 to continue improving your skills or to get a refresher. Reminder: Daycare and boarding services are cancelled this week (May 30th to June 5) to allow us to complete some much needed maintenance and repairs on our building. Regular services will resume on June 6th.

Alert:
Please be aware that we have been notified of several dogs exhibiting signs of what may be kennel cough. Symptoms include coughing, possible nasal/eye discharge, lethargy and in some instances vomiting. We are taking every precaution to try and prevent the spread and ask that you do your part by monitoring your dog for symptoms. If your dog has experienced symptoms please let us know. As with child daycare dogs spread illness quickly when they are wrestling with their mouths, sharing toys, water bowls and pools. It is also common to see a rise in allergy/kennel cough like symptoms throughout the spring and fall when we are seeing rapidly fluctuating temperatures and rainy/damp weather patterns. We appreciate your patience while we try to stop the spread. Additionally please cancel your bookings if your dog is showing any signs of illness or you will have to pick them back up. Dogs who are exhibiting symptoms should be kept away from other dogs for a minimum of 10 days post symptoms. We wish all the dogs affected a speedy recovery. At this time daycare/boarding are still running however if we see a rise in cases it may result in us having to temporarily shut down to halt the spread. At this time we ask that daycare dogs avoid frequenting different daycares and dog parks to help stop the potential spread as well. If you have any questions of concerns please feel free to contact us for additional information.
