Looking to add a new member to your family?

Meet Bean! Bean is a 4-year-old albino ferret! He was surrendered at our Beverly Hills location about a year ago, and is eagerly awaiting his forever home! He's a super sweet and goofy guy with lots of love to give!

As great as Bean is, ferrets don't make great pets for everyone! They need fairly large cages with tons of enrichment and tunnels. Bean is neutered and litter box trained, which significantly helps with cage cleaning, but ferrets are animals that have a natural musk; so they'll always be a bit stinky! Bean does need some weekly grooming to help with ear wax and nail growth to keep him happy and healthy.

We were devastated to hear the news of the awful water main break in Southwest Detroit this week. As the damage is repaired and residents are returning to their homes, many need help for themselves and their pets. We're teaming up with our friends at Detroit Dog Rescue to donate food and supplies for their outreach efforts in Southwest Detroit, but they need monetary donations for fuel, vet bills, and any other supplies people may need! What about Southwest?

The worst thing any agency can do is deploy hands and resources without a plan! Deploying without communication and a plan results in chaos, lost pets, a waste of resources and hinders operations.

Our director has been in meetings and on the phone with several non-profit agencies, product distributors, pet stores, police, city officials and aid agencies to devise a plan to contribute to the efforts to help people and their pets in Southwest Detroit after massive freezing and flooding occurred.

While it can seem like immediate action is the most needed during the evacuation stage, it’s actually the opposite. Once placed and/or evacuated, people and their pets will need resources, rescue and reassurance that they have not been forgotten.

Kristina and team members will be “boots on the ground” on Thursday helping where it’s needed to rescue, reunite and reassure residents’ pets and start the process of helping those who need it LONG TERM!

What we need. Simply: donations. Our friends at Premier Pet Supply will be helping us with food and supplies. We need money for fuel and necessities that we will need on scene- that might be food, vet med supplies, additional transport etc.
