He’s not a tiny puppy anymore. Our Memphis is taking up a bigger spot on the couch lately. Puppies don’t keep.
My sweet Memphis was up next on my table today. He went from muppet to leggy boy. He’s almost 9 months old and he’s finally calming down a bit. Whew! I’m too old for this puppy raising business. He’ll be my last puppy for a long time.
Marley LOVES short hair. Always has, always will. I have 2 dogs that tend to run hot. You will find them constantly panting when their hair gets over an inch long. So, we shave them down when the temperatures support it. She was so happy after her hair was gone, she just wagged her tail non stop. When you see a shaved doggo, it isn’t always because they were matted.
I was able to just give my Murray a fff and fluff out. I think he’s so handsome at this hair length when it’s fluffy.
Holy haircut, Batman! Minnie Pearl needed a serious shape up.
All 10 of them have a middle name. Unroll your eyes!!!
Lucy. We keep her head, ears, and tail as fluffy as possible. Her body and legs were cut around 1” long all over.
This dog y’all. He’s watching the Olympics. Fully entertained by gymnastics. Only moose.
I hate that my dogs are so mistreated and never comfortable. Maggie is terrible about hogging pillows.
Maverick is such a handsome guy. He’s so weird and wonderful.
When Molly is trying to figure out how to ask for what she wants, she holds her mouth open as if she’s about to talk. Tell me why, I fully expect words to come out if her mouth any minute???
I’ve officially lost my seat.
And I rounded out the late night grooms with a fff for my Mavis. She had a pretty short cut after weaning her pups so she didn’t need an all over cut this time.
I had Molly on the table tonight too but she just needed a fff, so I forgot a before picture.
My sweet Millie was on the table today too. We chose 1” all over for her cut and it’s my favorite length on her. She’s the easiest dog to groom.
Up next was my Maverick the standard poodle. I rarely poodle him, and almost always give him a doodle cut. This one was 9mm in order to show off his muscles. lol. He has the softest poodle hair I’ve ever worked on. His coat feels like cashmere.
Scout. Desperate for a summer cut. He gets really hot. 5/8” over every inch of his body.
Charli girl got a longer cut this time at 1”. Her mom likes her head a bit longer so we went 2” on the head and tail. She’s such a sweetheart.
Penny is one of my former pups that now lives in Nashville. Her parents were traveling this week and I was able to babysit and groom her. She’s 3/4” all over and her face scissored to blend.
My Murray got a much needed summer cut before his neuter appt. Since dogs can’t be bathed or groomed for 12-14 days post op, I always choose to groom them the night before to keep them as fresh as possible.
When I get home from the gym and sit down to eat my snack, this is what always happens. My boys swarm me. They act as though I’ve been gone for two weeks. It’s such a treasure to be so loved.
Moses. Big turkey butt from my last litter. He just got a fff this time bc his mom likes him fluffy. He’s HUGE.
Parker is very happy with his bootcut legs. I forgot his before picture but he also got a big haircut this time.
Charlie (Linus from my last litter) came for a much needed summer cut. He was getting really hot with all of that hair. We kept his Mohawk though.
Sometimes at night, I sit out here and watch the water sparkle. I listen to the summer sound of my old KY home, and stand in awe. I love my little slice of paradise and my job. I’m so fortunate to have a full schedule for the year, and clients that trust me with their precious babies. I’m not rich my most peoples standards, but I’m rich in the Lord’s favor upon my life. I’ll take that any day over monetary gains. Thank you all for supporting and trusting me!
They take affection seriously. And they’ll immediately let you know when you’ve watched enough tv. Moose will force cuddles if necessary.
The first question I always get when people find out I have 10 dogs…..”ARE THEY ALL INSIDE?!?!” Yep. And they match us step for step. Ben stepped into the garage for around 30 seconds. They stand patiently waiting on his return.
Before and after on the WORST dog I groom. I absolutely hate grooming her to the point that my hubs has to make me. He actually bathes her and puts her on the table and says, she’s ready for you. It’s awful. But we do it every month anyway. So here’s our Maggie mayhem at 5/8” all over. I use a 10 blade to shave her paw pads and carve out where her eyes should be.
Added the most fun sticker to my explorer. Have you seen these? Facebook ads got me.
Grizzy got a big summer cut today and she loved it. Her grandad didn’t even recognize her!! She always does so well on the table. She’s a 5/8” cut all over and scissored face.

How they tell me they’re hungry at 1am, 3am, and 5am. Hug your breeder friends. We’re soo tired.
I was just filming a cute video of Murray hoarding all of the toys. My son Miles was in the kitchen and had zero clue I was filming. He was just being funny and answered for Murray. I got so tickled I snorted. I hope this makes you giggle too. #cosseydoodles
All day. Everyday. Having a baby puppy in the house always does this. Bless Molly for taking one for the team. We have 9 dogs and no one else wants to entertain this girl. They’re all too lazy. And outside is a mud hole after last nights storms. I’d say cabin fever is setting in. #cosseydoodles #goldendoodles
They probably don’t “look” matted from the outside. But this is why we have to shave your dogs. Trust me, we don’t want to at all. It’s harder on the dog because it pulls. It’s harder on our blades and they overheat faster. It’s harder on us because it’s SUPER easy to cut their skin when shaving this close. All of us are a nervous wreck during this time. These appts take longer than a normal haircut because we go so much slower. It’s just not fun for anyone. So please don’t get mad if we shave your dog down. There really isn’t another option. #cosseydoodlesgrooming #minigoldendoodle #goldendoodle
Sweet Blitzen is so chill, that she didn’t care one bit when Madelyn decided she needed a side pony. Everyone needs a chill dood in their life. I’m on my way to Bardstown tomorrow to deliver babes. If you’re on my way from Murray, I can add her to the trip for you! No delivery fee tomorrow only.
No fear in this little girl. I walked in the room and caught her snoozing on one of the big dogs pillows outside of the box. I picked her up and put her back in the box and she immediately climbed back out. And after I watched how she did it, I decided it was time to remove the pig rails. #cosseydoodles
“How do you have 8 dogs? Isn’t it just too much? Aren’t they crazy?” These are just a few of the MANY questions we get daily from people. Y’all are genuinely curious and it’s always coming from a good place so I thought I’d show y’all what a typical afternoon looks like. They definitely have their crazy moments. And there are key words we know to avoid to keep them from going nuts. “Hungry” , “outside”, “pop’s here”. Normal dog excitement. But when you have 8, it can be a lot. For the most part though, 95% of the time it’s like this. They are the laziest bums ever. We choose our babes based on temperaments first. I can’t tell you how many dogs I’ve been around and had the opportunity to adopt and I said no. We’ve created a beautiful, well rounded, socially appropriate pack and one bad apple could ruin it all. This group of sweeties is sooooo great at welcoming each of my grooming clients and playing with them all day. We’re able to have so many because we’ve brought them in, trained them, and the rest of the pack has accepted them. Their temperaments are so laid back and sweet. And the hubs and I have worked VERY HARD to make sure we are the leaders of the pack. The dogs know that when we speak, it matters. If this weren’t the case, major problems could arise and get out if hand quickly. But all in all, it’s pretty great.
My days off aren’t really days off. Lol. 3/7 were due for annual visits so here we are. Our vet is around an hour away so we don’t do multiple trips. Thanks goodness they’re good babies.
We upgrade with baby steps over here. I got a new bathing system and nozzle and it works like a dream! Grizzy was our guinea pig this morning and she didn’t mind a bit. The hubs installed it with washing machine parts and pieces last night. Lol. I get so excited for the small things like this that cut my time in half. I’m giddy over here.
