Instagram sensation Mr Bigglesworth & Friends is fighting for his life in a Melbourne veterinary hospital after his owners made a mad dash from the Victoria-NSW border.

The hairless rabbit rose to social media fame with a rare genetic disorder causing him to lose his hair.

"Rabbits are very fragile and Mr Bigglesworth has been through so much over the last couple of days. He is trying so hard to keep going," his owner told his tens of thousands of fans.

Mr Bigglesworth was taken to a vet in Albury-Wodonga after his owner noticed he was not eating or drinking and was lethargic and pale.

He was then quickly rushed to Melbourne's The Rabbit Doctors, where he remains in a stable but serious condition.
