Pickle shenanigans! Why in the world does Pickle think this trash truck is any of her business? Trash truck comes by MMAR every Friday and she pays it no attention. Being Pickle you notice how she is ignoring Mandy when told to get in the van. We can not take this girl anywhere without her showing out, or shoplifting
Pickle
Pickle just can not help herself. She arrived at Paula’s house being her normal shoplifting self. She stoled Aubrey’s treat as soon as she seen it. She worked herself up in a frazzle because we would not open the gate and allow her to go to the car with it. She tried everything possible! She couldn’t get it through the boards of the fence and Paula told her no digging in the yard. What are we going to do with this little shoplifting girl?
Transportation
Transportation is headed back to Arkansas in some yucky weather. Jacey is not feeling good and has diarrhea so making several extra stops for her. If you have ever ridden even around the block with Pickle you would know the gas this little dog releases non stop. So if you think you are having a bad day try being Mandy in the van for hours with Pickle and can not crack a window for fresh air. It’s looking like a rough transport back home this trip, but Mandy has it all under control. We have learned to not say a word to Pickle and just roll a window down. She is so dramatic when you ask her about it and wants to argue by barking loudly which now your nose and ears hurt. We pick our battles with Pickle.

Back in July 2023 this mare ended up on a slaughter list headed to Mexico. We all pulled together and saved her. Mr Ernest made his little girl’s dream come true by being the perfect home. Her dream was to have a horse that loved her as much as she loved horses, play days, learn, and simply be kind. Tag 410 has made her dreams come true. Saving this mare also made the mare’s dreams come true by finding a home, learning love, and trust. We often hear “ there is a reason they landed on the slaughter list”. This is just one example that statement is not true. All deserve love, proper care, and kindness
Sadness
The sadness we feel in our hearts when we try so hard and lose an animal has no words to express the pain. As most know Mandy was called late night about a mom cat that had been shot or attacked. She had given birth to this little baby living long enough to bust the sack and chew the umbilical cord, but not long enough to get her baby cleaned up and fed. Momma fought for her a baby until her last breath. Mandy took over the fight for mom immediately giving it her all.
Mandy started feeding every 2 hours day and night, she also tried to get another momma cat to take this baby but momma rejected the baby. She was eating so good, and getting strong. Even though we only knew her 3 days we are devastated her life started the way it did and ended so soon. Days like these rescue is a pill way to hard to swallow.
Pickle
Well we all know and most have seen first hand how Pickle thinks she is the boss, not sacred of anything, and wakes up stealing EVERYDAY.
Today things changed. After stealing a cat bed, bags of food, running around rescue arguing with other animals, she finally met her match.
Meet Pickle’s new friend Mr 🦉. Jacey, Archie, Tootie, and even Ginza enjoyed meeting Mr Owl.
Guess we have found the one thing that we can put places that we do not want items stolen from and taken to Pickle’s hiding spot. Oh this morning she snuck the cat scoop while Mandy was feeding and cleaning. She hid it behind the water bowl in Mandy’s living room. Pickle is like living in a 3 ring circus at all times. She has brought us many laughs, and made us waste more time looking for items we need that she decided belonged to her.
She is really mad at us and Mr Owl right now, but she will have that owl in Mandy’s bed before we know it. Mandy will wake up to a one glowing eye owl. We never thought from day one of meeting this sassy little girl there would be anything she would be sacred of until today.

Fun
What’s better on a hot day than to go swimming. Most are not allowed the blue swimming pools because they think they are chew toys. Most all our kennels have these black buckets of water for cooling off. We have added pet cooling systems to our Amazon wish list. We would enjoy them as well on these triple heat index days. More fun videos in comments. This guy takes swimming to a whole different level
Pickle
Pickle Shenanigans:
How does pickle act while on a rescue? Pickle is upset because the pregnant momma cat and the 2 skeleton kittens received cat food. She did not stop barking until we found a chew bone to give her, but that didn’t last long. Now that all our heads are hurting, and, pickle continues to show out over cat food we are headed to MMAR to get everyone settled. Back talking is Pickle’s specialty and we usually give in, but these babies needed their food WAY more than Pickle.
UPDATE ON TAG 240. He is younger than we thought and shows signs that he has suffered a lot of abuse in his past. Brit worked 1:1 with him yesterday to earn trust. At the end he stopped snorting and started to relax. He is even allowing Brit to lead him with a halter. This guy has a long ways to go but in time and patience he will thrive
Birthday girl
Pickle is a year old and a hoot to have around. She made sure all her doggie friends received cake and treats on her special day.

Happy Birthday to our bossy, sassy, demanding, her way or no way, shoplifting, never know what she will do next little girl.
Pickle had a very rough start to life being born under a house to a homeless mom that was doing all she could to raise her babies. She was 3 times smaller than her siblings, and we honestly did not know if she would survive but Mandy fought for her day and night. This little drama queen was a fighter, and wanted to survive. Today she turns 1 year old and oh what a year it has been for her. She has had 2 surgeries, became President of MMAR, and keeps us all super busy trying to keep up with her shenanigans daily. Today for her birthday she is doing what she loves the most and that’s riding in her van on transportation helping other animals receive homes just like she did when she needed help. We are planning her a surprise birthday party for when she returns. This little girl is like no other and brings so much happiness to many daily by just being herself.

In need of donations for medical care. At this time we are unsure total cost, but will post receipt on Thursday. She needs us to all pull together and fight this fight with her. Unfortunately she is bred and a older mare in this condition. We will never understand the cruelty of humans to not seek help for animals along with breeding. Our vet is over a hour away one way, we usually do farm calls so animals like this mare will not have to go through the stress of traveling, but our vet is in clinic all week. She has waited long enough for help so we have to get her there. Thursday was the closest appointment we could get her. We will have vet cost and fuel cost we need to raise for her.
