HEY ALL ITS ME PICKLE:
Last 2 transportations I have not scored anything but a take out food box so I have been a little down, but….
Look what I found today. This super cool umbrella and yes mom let me keep it. She even said she likes the colors of it.
I can’t wait to get home and show Archie. I was starting to worry I had lost my skills of being a shoplifter, but today proves I still got it. On our way back to Arkansas now. Too bad it’s pouring rain at rescue today. Paula could sure use my umbrella.

ATTENTION ALL COUNTIES:
This is Paula letting you all know we are on intake hold and in a position we dislike. Saying no hurts us more than words can say
I received a message about 2 dogs located on Hwy 229 that need help. We can not at this time due to NO open kennel. Can anyone help these dogs?
We do not like being in this position but it is out of our hands. We are housing 64 dogs along with cats/kittens, and equine. We are doing all we can with what we have. Please remember we are volunteers
Also we received a message of a dog being abused by owner. This dog is on private property therefore Dallas County Sheriff Department needs to be contacted to make a complaint
We are volunteers only and answer all calls when needed by Dallas County Sheriff’s Department

Transportation has arrived in Chicago after a long drive through the night. It’s a cold 17 degrees so Pickle will be putting on her jacket so she can look around for shoplifting goods to bring back.
Whoopi is spending the weekend with Paula. She will be supervised by Larry during the day while Paula is away feeding and cleaning and Mandy is in Chicago. She seems to be enjoying her sleepover.

UPDATE:
Our sweet Puddy Cat remains in hospital. He has started eating a little, fever dropped, but dropped too low. He is being wrapped in warm blankets to help body temperature. He is receiving IV fluids and antibiotics. Puddy is not responding to medication like we were hoping. He is being monitored closely by his doctor.
Seeing curious, always being a clown, into one thing and out of another to laying almost lifeless overnight we knew he needed help quickly to survive.
He is in Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Little Rock.
Donations can be made to Hillcrest or to us for his vetting. We are unsure what the total needed will be. We will know more on Monday.
We have been hit hard with vetting this month with Whoopi and Puddy. There is no way Mandy and Paula can cover it all.
We have made a promise to each animal that is placed in our care to ensure proper care no matter the case, but we need help to help them. MMAR is housing over 100 animals that depend on us daily. They were let down by humans before arriving at MMAR and we want them to be happy and healthy while learning what being loved feels like now that they are in our care.

UPDATE:
We have high hopes for Whoopi and saving her leg. She had surgery as most know to remove bone and add plates. She is finally putting weight on her leg and using it to walk.
Unfortunately this girl has had so much trauma she will be back in the hospital December 12th for another surgery to repair a tear in the diaphragm. Unfortunately, Whoopi's diaphragm is torn. It was discovered during surgery. Her breathing became irratic. X rays showed her chest cavity is full of her intestines, liver, spleen, and colon, basically all her internal organs that should be in the abdomen. The stomach is the only thing in place. Whoopi is not in any pain or danger due to this, but it is uncomfortable for her due to the pressure on her lungs. Whoopi can recover from the surgery on her leg and get some rehab. We think Whoopi was hit by a vehicle and dumped by owners that didnt want to take her to the vet. Also, there was a pellet that showed up on one of the X rays. Whoopi was shot at. Pitiful someone shooting at what was probably a starved, injured, scared dog looking for help.
We are unsure at this time what the cost of her 2nd surgery will be. We have a fundraiser for her on our page.
Whoopi deserves to be happy and healthy, and needs all our help to get her there. It’s amazing to see her wagging her tail begging for attention after going through so much pain, starved, and dumped in a wooded area. You can see in her eyes all she wants is to be loved.
We need help with her vetting.

Hey all it’s me Pickle…
I have been trying really hard to be good. Other than barking at puppies, and shoplifting from the garage for the most part I have been a good girl
I’m super excited about it being December and Santa will be visiting. I was a little nervous seeing him last year, but this year I’m ready.
I need help getting all my rescue friends treats and toys for their special day.
Paula? Well I have not been arguing very much with her lately. December 25th is her birthday so mom ask me to be nicer this month. We did argue a little on Sunday because I had stolen goods from the garage and refused to let her have it. It was a small amount of cat food in a bag. I mean why give it to her? Guess I should have but she didn’t look hungry to me.
Ladies have been in overdrive getting ready for cold winter months.
Who can help me fill Santa’s Sleigh this year? Amazon wish list link is below or donating through PayPal link is also posted. Mom said she would take me shopping if I raise funds and I get to pick out gifts for our animals. I’ll find the coolest stuff ever for them.

Yesterday we learned of 9 puppies needing help. Due to kennels full we had to say no. We are heartbroken we could not help and our minds are spinning on what we can change so we can continue helping animals in need of help.
Puddy remains in hospital and has received 25.00 in donations to help him with vetting
Whoopi is scheduled for her 2nd surgery on December 12th. She raised 360.00 on giving Tuesday toward her surgery
2024 Christmas Party for equine is December 14th
2024 Christmas Party for dogs/puppies/cats/kittens date will be announced soon
Transportation leaves Friday afternoon
Mandy and Paula are carrying a heavy load on their shoulders at this time doing all they can to care for many animals
Larry remains out sick and will be having surgery soon in hopes he can return to MMAR to help the ladies with cleaning daily.
We will continue to put one foot forward as long as we can
Saying no and knowing animals need help is a hard pill to swallow, but we must remain realistic in days to come.
Some look at it as MMAR is a no kill rescue so once they arrive they are safe for life. That’s 100 percent true, but when we can not find homes it means full kennels and others can not receive help or their 2nd chance.

Mandy and Paula noticed Puddy was not being his silly self. He was taken to Hillcrest Animal Hospital. This is what we know as of now:
104.4 temperature
Lymph nodes under chin is enlarged
He has been admitted so he can receive IV fluids and antibiotics
If no change in lymph nodes by Monday a biopsy will be performed
At this time we do not have any ideal how much Puddy’s vetting will cost, but we knew he needed immediate care today. If you can donate please please click link below or if you would like to donate to Hillcrest Animal Hospital for him:

Any and all help received will be appreciated more than we can say. Whoopi also has an upcoming surgery on December 12th. We are drowning in vet care at this time needing all the help possible

Mandy, Pickle, and Jacey will be loading on Friday afternoon for transportation.
Please note:
We will remain on intake hold due to no empty kennels.
We hate the words intake hold but being a no-kill means once a animal arrives he or she is out of danger, but when homes can not be found it means the next animal can not be rescued due to no kennel to house new intakes. We refuse to place animals in small kennels with no room to live or have several in one kennel that is too small. A single kennel is just that “single” meaning built to accommodate one animal.
Whoopie was unable to find a foster for the weekend of transport therefore she will go home with Paula until Mandy returns. Her 2nd surgery to remove intestines from chest cavity and repair diaphragm will be December 12th at Hillcrest Animal Hospital. Ridiculous the trauma this animal has suffered the first year of her life.
We will focus on pictures of animals in our care that have called us home for up to 5 years. Amazing animals that deserves a home life. Next week we will feature an animal per day in hopes of finding amazing homes, so we can help others that need help.

MMAR received an early Christmas gift from Mandy today. Not only did we receive a donated building yesterday, but today this building arrived. Most know we house cats, cats, and more cats. Now that we have completed our dog/pup kennels it’s cat and kitten time. With these buildings we can now provide heat in the winter and air in the summer. Puddy, SlapSlap, K-Mart, Big Honey, Alice, Obie, Keno, and others will soon have all the space they need.
Thank you Mandy for your generous donation and having such a big heart for animals that need help.

Special Thank you to Mr Johnson for donating this building to MMAR. It is wired for electricity, plumbing, sink, and plenty of shelves. Also special thanks to Moro Creek. This is the second building Mr Harvey has moved for MMAR. Today was a great day for us all

This is a first for us!! Help arrived and chores were done. Thing is this is the first time we did not get pictures.
Ruby, Enos, and MayBell had to be moved while Tri-County tree service were cutting the trees near their kennel. We have told them their fence would go back up and they would be running again soon. So much has happened daily and of course we are way behind but trying. Special thank you to Mr Billy and Ms Teri for getting fence back up. It was unbelievable how happy these 3 were to get back in their kennel. They ran, gave hugs, played, and made sure to let us know how happy they were. Mandy and Paula are super thankful for the help and having someone drive post for the fence.
