Babyface has amazing news to share: Most know my story but here is a quick summary: September 24, 2024 I was living on the streets where I had been dumped. I was sick and the pain was horrible. Two lady’s arrived very late that afternoon. What were they doing? Trying to catch me? I gave them a good little run then was cornered. I did not welcome them and touching me was a BIG NO!! I finally gave in and was loaded in the car. I traveled for about a hour then arrived at a place where several others were there barking. It was late so I was set up in a kennel in the garage for the night. Ms Mandy started giving me medication to heal and ease my pain. The next day I was taken to a kennel where I met my neighbors. I received a bath, medication daily, food, fresh water, and treats. I decided to let my guard down and love the ladies as much as they love me. I healed and began feeling great. Thanks to donors MMAR can keep medication on hand to treat animals like me. Now here is the good part: I received news today that I have a vet appointment on Wednesday to receive my traveling papers then on Friday afternoon I will load on transportation. This means a family to call my own. Mandy, Paula, and Brenda are so proud I am getting my chance at happiness on one hand, but on the other will miss me like crazy. I want to thank everyone that helps MMAR to help animals like me. With the high fever caused by so much infection in my body I would not be here today if I had not received medical care. Stay tuned for more updates about me on my journey
CONGRATULATIONS MS SHERRY.

Let’s go behind the scenes for a minute to see what some days bring us. Poor Mandy had built a wall so the cats could not get to our cleaning supplies. Not only did they make it their business to take it down but had a blast. This room is for our special needs cats/kittens. We strive daily to soap, bleach, and keep our kennels clean daily along with all cat areas clean. Thanks to our curious cats wanting to throw their own party Mandy and Brenda had many extras to clean. As you can hear Mandy telling them “yall are wrong for this” they could care less. We never know what we will wake up to with this crew, but we can say they keep us busy and ALWAYS right by our sides trying to help clean. Just another day in the rescue world.
Here are just a few of our long term residents that are looking for homes. We are currently working on leash training for the ones that are not leash broken. Happy, loving, and healthy animals asking for a home of their own to be forever loved and cared for.
UPDATE: Who remembers MayBell that was living on the streets of Carthage Arkansas covered in mange and had puppies hidden in the woods? She was terrified of humans, but her stomach got the best of her one day allowing us to FINALLY catch her. We walked for miles looking for her puppies. We had decided the only choice we had was to let MayBell loose and stake out until she led us to her babies. Knowing it would be triple hard to recapture her we were determined and kept walking. FINALLY a few miles away we spotted her babies curled up in the woods next to a beer bottle. Puppies stayed with her until weaned then found homes, but we were making no lead way with MayBell. It’s been over a year now with little change. She is happy and healthy living with her 2 best friends Enos and Ruby. She does come to the fence now instead of hiding in her house and at times will take a treat from us. MayBell is one that will most likely call us home for life unless major changes are made and she begins to trust humans. She is absolutely beautiful, will never have puppies again, and her mangy skin has healed. She is determined but curious and has learned we will not give up on her. Time will tell, and like we have told her time and time again “take all the time you need”.
This is what it looks like when you rescue horses from the slaughter pipeline and find amazing homes. Not sure who loves who the most the girls or the horses. So many say if a horse is on a slaughter lot it’s for a reason. We have rescued 100’s over the years giving them a 2nd chance. We have received many unhealthy equine over the years, meaning their owners did not properly care for them so dumping at auction for a quick buck is what happens. The equine world is wicked and so unfair to so many horses. Their life’s matter. Most make full recovery once proper care is given but many are not that fortunate. Old injuries not taken care of when the injury occurs can lead to major issues and lameness. Please be kind to all animals. They feel pain just like humans
Dixie Dog and Duck joined in on our equine Christmas party. Dixie is a rescue that was adopted by Danny. She’s now a queen not a pup on the streets. Santa and The Grinch stopped by to make sure the herd received carrots, apples, and treats. Midnight was ready as always. Merry Christmas from MMAR Rescue Herd
Talk about some happy kittens. We let them out into their new room today for a test run to see what they thought. After meeting each other the fun began. They were tons of help to Mandy while putting their climbing tower together. They now have room to run and fun to be had
16 years of animal rescue and MMAR has NEVER had a naughty list for Christmas until this year. Just a few reminder pictures of a few items Pickle has shoplifted this year. We are doing our best to raise her, but have NEVER in all our years met a girl like her. Shoplifting, bossy, arguing, and the list goes on and on. We ask her daily “What are we going to do with you Pickle?”
MMAR is currently caring for 64 dogs. So many amazing animals looking for a home to call their own.
