Tator Tot, Chief, and Mikie have loaded on transportation headed to their new home. Once settled in they will love the lesson youth program. Especially Tator Tot due to the love he has for children. Ms Melinda with SO MD Equine Miracles will keep us updated on all 3.

Happy Saturday all:
Both vans hit the road headed to Chicago last night around 7pm. We are praying for a smooth trip there and back for Mandy and Kelly
Paula will be in Carthage today for feeding, cleaning, and making sure all have blankets then she will hit the road to Rison to meet up with Stacie to help load Tator Tot, Chief, and Mikey. They will be headed to their new home today where they will be part of a youth lesson program to help youth learn about equine. It’s another busy day for us all, but we love and enjoy what we do daily for so many that need us.

December 11th was the start of Pasty and Ollie’s new journey at MMAR. 2 days of following them and trying to trap them. It has been said Pasty’s owner moved to another town leaving her behind to survive the street life. We can say she is loyal because she would go to her house and lay on the porch wondering when her owner would return. We are unsure about Ollie’s background. We do know when caughting him he was not human friendly at all. He was terrified of humans. Today is January 17th and want everyone to see how great they are doing. They now play, give hugs, and love to see us coming to their kennel.

The worse part of the year for us all:
Temperatures will be in the teens several nights in a row.
Paula: hey Mandy look at these temps
Mandy: yea but you have your new gloves
Paula: yep! Can wipe my tears while I’m out in the cold feeling sorry for myself.
Mandy: awe come on you got this.
After feeding and cleaning today Mandy got busy digging all the extension cords out, heaters, and heat lamps. Kennels are wrapped with tarps to keep the cold wind out and the heat inside. Paula headed to Fordyce to feed momma dog and to her surprise seen another puppy run under the house. House is low and no way to get under it. Momma dog ate her food and tried to get under house but was too big to fit. She laid near the small area waiting on her puppy to come back out.
We have a super busy weekend:
Transportation leaves Friday afternoon
Paula will busy feeding, cleaning, and passing out extra blankets
Stacie and Danny will be helping load 3 minis that are headed to their new home leaving on Saturday.
Please note: on weekends like this weekend we are slow to answer messages. Mandy is driving, Paula has a water hose in her hand doing her best to not be tripped by playful puppies that love to help, and Stacie/Danny have all the equine to care for. Water has to busted due to freezing for our equine
Please make sure your animals have a warm place and stay comfortable in these days to come. If you see a stray please be kind and help. Remember they are doing all they can to survive the streets.
Stay safe and have a great weekend all!
Alice and Puddie have been chosen for transport and we are filled with emotions. Alice would seat on the shelve daily while we were cleaning litter box fixing our hair for us. Alice wants us to look our best we guess. Awe then there is Puddie. One of the coolest cats ever born. We will hold them in our hearts and remember all the fun days we spent with them.

Mr MaCra
This beautiful boy along with his sister has us all baffled.
Himself and his siblings arrived at just 6 weeks old. We played, daily kennel cleaning, and feeding. One day himself and his sister decided they were afraid of us and any human they see. Hard to believe such a major change and we wonder why the change. He will come out of his house while we are in his kennel, but doesn’t like to be touched. He will take treats from Brenda’s hand time to time, but not always. Himself and his sister have watched as their siblings have been adopted, but both at this time are not adoptable. So what happens to animals like this?
We love them, and will continue to build a friendship with them daily.
Some may think they should be euthanized, but here’s our thoughts on that
They both deserve to live their life’s and be loved. What made them change is something we will never know or understand, but giving up on them is what we will not do. It’s possible they will live their life’s at MMAR, but there is always a chance they will overcome their issues and one day be adopted.
It has never been about opening up kennels to Mandy or Paula. It is about the animals and allowing them a chance. Christmas he did eat cake from Mandy along side his roommate. Baby steps, but it is a step.
When MMAR started we started as a no k*ll rescue and we do not have plans of changing. We understand so many more need our help and our kennels are full 365 days a year, but Mr MaCra deserves his chance in life just like the next animal.

Silly girl Ms Trudy is needing a home. Her dream is to find a family that she can curl up on the couch with. She was living on the streets of Dallas County, and was very very thin when she arrived, but now she is a little butterball of fun. She loves people and never meets a stranger. Likes to take car rides, leashed trained, and loves petting. She is up-to-date on shots, and spayed.

When you wake up to over 50 plus different personalities daily.
Her eyes are begging to not be made to get out of the food bowl. Says it is so comfortable and we need to just bring another food bowl for feeding.
Never a dull moment at MMAR
If we are sad there is always several that cheer us up and makes us laugh.
If we are mad there is always several that make us happy just being around them.
Animals have a way of changing your feelings by just being themselves

It’s a sunny day at MMAR. These boys are looking for homes. UTD on shots, neutred, and craves attention. They have called us home since tiny 6 week old puppies. They say the treats are good, but a family of their own would be better.

UPDATE:
Monday night as most know we received a message about mom and puppies in Fordyce Arkansas. Pups were curled up in a yard on the cold ground in a huddle trying to stay warm. Paula was alone and grabbed 7 puppies, but could not find the 8th. Mandy was on her way home from Little Rock where she had been at vet’s office. She made the 70 mile trip to meet up with Paula to help. It was dust dark when we received the message and Paula got there. Mom was not coming anywhere close to us. We walked and walked trying treats and all we could. We noticed a big bowl of food on the neighbors porch which answered the question of why she was not interested in eating what we tried giving her. After 3 hours of walking and doing all we could we made the decision to get pups to Carthage and settled in a warm place. Puppies have teeth, and are eating soft food. Paula went by 3 times yesterday to check on mom and feed her. We could not set a trap due to the heaviness of the trap and her size it takes 2 people to load. Mandy could not be there on Tuesday due to she had several vet appointments for animals in Malvern. We will continue feeding her daily and doing all we can to earn trust. She seems to be one of many strays born to the streets and all she knows is to do her best to survive. This is transportation weekend therefore Mandy will be away for a few days and Paula has all feeding and cleaning duties, and will make sure she is fed daily. Next week the temperatures will be dropping even lower than they are now. There is no way the pups would survive. Please note: we tried for 3 hours to get mom in below freezing temps Monday night. We had 14 puppies arrive Monday including these 8.
We are doing all we can daily to help all we can.
We were heartbroken we could not rescue her Monday night. Are we just going to leave her to survive alone and have litter after litter of pups?
ABSOLUTELY NOT
It takes time some times for us to get it done due to having many animals to feed and cleaning kennels daily.

Happy Tuesday all:
Today is vet day for several rescue at MMAR. They will make a 60 mile round trip for their appointment. We are at least if not more than 30 miles away from any town. Carthage doesn’t even have a gas station. We send a lot of drive time daily going on rescues, vet appointments, etc.
We will be back over trying to get mom so she can be off the streets and with her babies. We noticed last night she passed our food up due to a neighbor had already fed her. Getting her in a trap at 8pm last night was not happening. We will also need time to build a temporary kennel for her arrival. Yesterday alone we rescued 14 puppies, day before that a mom with 6 puppies, along with 5 more puppies last week.
Our famous words spoken daily are “we will figure it out”. We are swamped, drained, but determined.
Transportation will leave this Friday heading to Chicago. Mandy will make sure all her precious babies arrive safely. Paula will stay behind to make sure all kennels are cleaned and animals fed.
Our wish is to slow down, but it seems lately we are needing to be in 2 places at one time due to messages of animals needing help.

UPDATE: puppy #8 has been found. 8pm we are calling it a night and driving back to rescue. Will get pups settled and return tomorrow to rescue mom in the daylight

Just when we thought our day was done we received a call about this mom and babies. We did locate the pups laying in the yard of an unoccupied house. Curled up and so cold. We have caught 7 of 8 puppies but mom will not come near us. We will update when we have more news. If you know us you know we are determined and will be here as long as it takes. Will be a long night but we will figure it out. This makes 14 puppies today
We need help with vaccinations and wormer.

You did not love our mom enough to have her spayed so treating us like garbage must have come so easy for you. Guess what!?! We are at MMAR now. We have had a busy day. Mandy started vaccinations, Paula started wormer, took us to her house, gave us the softest fluffy blanket ever, fresh water and food. Oh and we also received toys. Our ribs may be showing now but man oh man how we all dived into the food bowl. We were told to slow down and promised we will never go another day without food
Total of 6 of us. If you would like to sponsor us please contact the ladies. Last week 8 puppies arrived, and a mom with 6 puppies on Sunday. Helping keep us all healthy is needed.

Pickle needs everyone to understand how busy we are daily with feeding, cleaning, passing medications to ones that need meds, drive time to rescue animals, trips to vet appointments, etc
With this said we are asking once again when sending messages PLEASE give details
When we receive messages such as
“I have a dog at my house can you help?”
We are clueless to where you live, and due to no kennel space we need information on
Size to see if we can split a kennel depending on size, age, bred, and pictures
Early morning and late evening is when we usually have time to check message, but do our best to check throughout the day. Gloves, water hose, and our phones are a nightmare. To save back and forth time with messages we ask you please send all information in your message.
