16 years of animal rescue and MMAR has NEVER had a naughty list for Christmas until this year. Just a few reminder pictures of a few items Pickle has shoplifted this year. We are doing our best to raise her, but have NEVER in all our years met a girl like her. Shoplifting, bossy, arguing, and the list goes on and on. We ask her daily “What are we going to do with you Pickle?”
MMAR is currently caring for 64 dogs. So many amazing animals looking for a home to call their own.

Thanksgiving 2024 was a blast for our rescue animals. Many memories made and happy animals. Homemade cupcakes were added to this party and the animals loved them. We ended our party a little early due to Mandy had to go to Little Rock to meet with doctor about Whoopi. We will be posting an update on her soon.
We are a day early but wanted to make sure we all wish Larry a very Happy Birthday. Over the years Larry has volunteered his time to help rescue animals in need. We thank him for his heart and for all he does to help MMAR. Larry has a special vibe when it comes to animals meaning they all feel safe and loved by him. Thank you Larry and we hope you have the best birthday ever.
UPDATE:WHO remembers Mischief we rescued from the slaughter pipeline in February 2022?He is now know as Mr Bentley and loving life with his new family in Texas. We hear he is a sweet boy that loves to follow his gal wherever she goes.
September 24 2024 is the night we picked BabyFace up from her street life. Dumped and sick she had almost given up her fight. Once we had her caught Mandy and Paula told her it would all be okay and relax. The fight was theirs now and they would not let her down. At first she was terrified and tried to bite us, but shortly after she was taking treats from our hands. She now meets us at the gate with a wagging tail and today even a smile. 1 month and 2 days has made a completely different life for her. She makes sure she lets us know how much she appreciates us and also wants to thank our supporters for supporting MMAR so we can purchase medication. Babyface has not seen our vet yet but will soon for her rabies vaccination. MMAR makes sure to keep medication on hand for animals like BabyFace so we can start medical treatment immediately. Some may disagree with us not taking her to the vet immediately, but please understand over the years our vets have taught us so much, and we know when emergency vet is needed. We do our best to save donor’s donations. We knew the meds she needed, started as soon as we got her settled, and she is improving as each day arrives. She is a beautiful sweet girl
When we receive videos like these it makes our hearts smile. MMAR rescued this mare from the slaughter pipeline. Her new owner says she is perfect and the biggest question is why would anyone send her to slaughter. So many horses are over looked never given a chance, and never rescued before the ship date. Dropped at auction for a few quick dollars then into the hands of the person that will load them on a trailer to Mexico. The Equine world has to be the most evilness world there is. Very depressing world to be in, but seeing videos like this one helps us to see the beauty of equine
UPDATE:Lita was rescued from slaughter and quarantined with us. Lita found the perfect home with her new owner Ms Bre in September 2023. Bre and Lita have put in a lot of time together under the saddle and decided they were both ready for the arena. We are so proud of Ms Bre for loving Lita and giving her a home. This horse has taught Bre tons and they are not finished learning yet. Lita was in Louisiana on a lot headed to Mexico slaughter when we stepped up and saved her. Look at this beautiful mare now!! Perfect home, loves her owner, and now in an arena. Please stop saying horses are in a k’ll pen for a reason! Learn from Lita. All their life’s matter
Pickle can be good! It’s rare and rarely we capture it on video. Pickle is a great babysitter at MMAR
THEN AND NOW. Several have asked what happened to the 6 pups that were dumped on Dallas County 126. As most know unfortunately 1 passed away due to being ran over before we learned they were in the street. We received 5 shy terrified little boys and girls. All started wormer, and vaccinations. We watched day after day as they began to feel better enjoying playing, and seeing us daily. Thanks to our followers we did learn the name of who dumped them. This individual was given these 6 puppies knowing he did not have a kennel for them and he stated “I didn’t know what to do with them”. WOW! Why would you accept 6 innocent puppies just to dump them!?! On September 10 we wrote an affidavit being the voice for all 6. We have learned the person we named has admitted to dumping the puppies. As of now they are happy healthy puppies. They loaded for a vet appointment last Tuesday then loaded on Friday to transport to new homes in Chicago. Absolutely no reason for such evil behavior.
Hey all it’s me Isabella!!! Most know my story but for the ones that do not here is a trip down memory lane. Labor Day weekend the ladies from MMAR showed up at my house finding me laying pretty much lifeless and in a daze. They immediately started working to save my life. I had a broken leg and my medical wrap had gotten wet along with me not being taken back to vet for follow up appointment. Instead of removing my wet bandage a person placed plastic bags over it and then wrapped it again. Infection set in and was eating my flesh. The smell was unbearable. Mandy worked as fast as she could getting all the bandages off so infection could drain out. She allowed me to rest as much as possible but she knew she had to work fast and had over a hour drive to get me to an emergency vet. Once at the vet my blood work was horrible and I was not given much of a chance to live. Mandy sat with me for 6 hours. She kept saying I’ll take over your fight now sweet girl and named me Isabella. I made it throw the night, had a transfusion so I could have surgery. I lost my leg, along with needing 84 staples and 4 stitches in my back where surgery was needed to remove infection that was eating me alive. I have been living with Mandy and hanging out with Pickle until now. I have rode transport a few times, but this time was different. This time I found a home of my own. Mandy had a hard time saying goodbye to me, but she had to so she can continue saving others that need her just like I did. Just a pup I have my whole life to look forward to. I fought, Mandy fought, and we won my battle. Mandy promised me she would keep fighting for others and told me she loved me. I’ll miss Pickle the most because she was nice to me through my sickness then played with me once I was well. I went from being a sick puppy laying in a kennel with my owner not helping me to a happy full of life girl. Please report animal cruelty if you see it. If a report had not been made for me I would no
