We are a no kill organization that provides homeless/abused/neglected animals of all breeds a 2nd chance. We work hand in hand with several rescues in numerous states to help abused animals. Hey all this is Paula and if you know me you never wonder where you stand with me.
We received a message yesterday that a lady was at FORDYCE wal-mart giving puppies away. 8-9 weeks old and not even wormed yet. Here is my RANT!
Why do out of town and county keep coming to our area??? How do you know it’s a good home? Puppies are cute then they grow up and turned to the streets making the ACO’s job harder or dumped on a Dallas county gravel road. Not spay/neutered so here we go adding more to our area. This puppy is from Ouachita county. Last set of puppies at wal-mart were from Calhoun County. Why do people keep coming to our county with free??? Why not spay your dog and if you have puppies contact us and see if we can help so we can help spay/neuter and stop all of the litters in our town and county. Stay in your own county with your stupidity of not properly caring for your animals.

Happy Monday all:
We have a super busy week ahead of us.
Mr Bobby will join us today to finish digging holes to set our post, and Mandy will be picking up lumber that Mr Mike cut for us to build a roof over kennels.
Pickle is super excited that Wednesday is our 2025 Thanksgiving party for all our animals. Last year as the picture below shows she fell in love with our turkey friend. Pup cakes and treats for all. We all love party days and seeing the excitement on faces when we come to their kennels.

After feeding and cleaning we decided to have a little fun at Paula’s.
Jacey, Pickle, Maggie Mae, Coolidge, OJ, Hildy, Willie Wayne, Lil Bit, Aubrey, and Bugs enjoyed us just hanging out for a hour or so. Anzzy decided to take a rest in the car, and Big Boy stayed in front yard but did plenty of peeping through the fence. As they ran and played Paula and Mandy had a little sit down time to visit. Maggie kept walking up to get petted and it was a major milestone for her and us. We all enjoyed our down time and look forward to doing it again.

ATTENTION: BEWARE
We were sent a message about this dog that was advertised on a classified ad. The advertisement states this dog is at Morning Meadow Animal Rescue in Fordyce forsale. There is a way to message these people and a 1-877-612-5709 number to call.
We have NEVER sold an animal, nor are we located in Fordyce. We do post on pet finder but have never seen this dog. Please be aware before sending anyone money or your information through and advertisement.
We have a Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram page. We have never advertised through ads. We are unsure who this is using our name, but will be digging to see and get it stopped

Maggie Mae got to meet a new friend today. We brought OJ from rescue to introduce them. They did fine together, but we will have a few more play days for them to get to know each other better. It is unbelievable how much progress Maggie has made in just 3 days since she has been in her new pen. OJ is staying at Paula’s in Maggie’s old kennel for now. Eventually she will move in with Maggie permanently. This has been a very stressful 10 months trying to catch Maggie, and help her kick the fear she had for humans. We are super excited she is now showing some trust with Paula

Happy Sunday all.
This is Paula and we need to let all know about the changes we will be making.
Mandy and I have made rescue our life’s for almost 17 years. Looking back we are proud of all the animals we have been able to save and find homes. We have focused on Dallas County, but over the years helped 100’s from surrounding counties. After a long discussion we have had to make a very hard decision.
Vetting, medical orders, feed, etc are very costly monthly. We are now focused on getting our number of animals we are caring for down to half. Currently we are caring for 63 dogs/puppies, 35 cats/kitten, and 11 equine. Due to finances, and breaking our bodies down we have had to make the decision to stop taking animals from surrounding counties. This is a hard decision for us because we know so many need help in counties with no rescues. Life is hard on everyone right now and our donations are slowly falling into next to none. We are at the point in our life’s our savings accounts are gone due to rescue. We are proud of what we have accomplished in our years of rescuing but it time unfortunately to slow down. We are grateful for all the support we have received over the years to help us help animals. Sadly the evil out weighs the good in the animal world causing this decision to be the hardest ever. We are praying for animals in other countries that someone will step up and help them. We hope everyone understands our decision and please no it was a decision we were forced to make and heartbreaking. If all could see behind the scenes of what we do daily it would make understanding easier.

Hey all it’s your gal Pickle and let me tell you what happened yesterday to me.
Well you see me, mom, Jacey, and Anzzy went to Paula’s house. I was so excited to see my favorite person Larry. I spent most of my time inside with him while everyone else was outside with Maggie. When we got ready to leave I snatched a small plastic bowl with dog food in it off of Paula’s porch and headed to mom’s car. Thinking they were talking and would not see me I heard “Pickle why are you stealing my bowl?” Yep! You guessed it old evil eye sea hag Paula had seen me. I decided to make a quick jump up into the car. Yall when I did the bowl flipped causing dog food to get in my eyes, nose, and all over my face. Oh and listen to this part. Paula said good enough for you Pickle for stealing. Does she not realize I could have went blind or food get stuck up my nose and have to go to the vet??? I dropped the bowl and got into the car. I heard Paula laughing so I really got mad. I made sure to pester her all day today. The nerve of her. Did she ever stop to think maybe I was hungry?

UPDATE:
We were sent a message with owners name and address. We were also told the owner no longer had room for the dog so he dumped her in Bradley county. We can not bring her to rescue due to no open kennel, and the person that picked her up said they can not keep her. Since the owner lives in Warren we advised her to contact ACO. Owner needs to be charged with animal cruelty
