The medical cases are hitting us back to back to back…and our bank account definitely reflects it. 💔

Granny Smith was found as a stray and sadly was never reclaimed by her people. We pulled her from the shelter and committed to getting her healthy and ready for transport. Because her heartworm disease is severe and she’s an older gal, her treatment has turned into a longer (and more expensive) journey than we originally anticipated.

Thankfully, Granny Smith has the most wonderful foster family loving and caring for her while she heals 🏡 All that stands between her and the next chapter is help covering her medical bills.

Scrappy: From Hospice to Home 💛

Scrappy came from an unplanned litter that resulted in genetic heart defects. Initially it didn’t look like he was going to have a positive pathway plan, but he pushed through every step of the way to make sure he could find a forever home.

Now he’s settled in Illinois, growing bigger and stronger by the day! We’re so thankful for our village who made his journey possible ❤️

Huge THANK YOU to the Hardaway High School CBI program for another fabulous semester! We wrapped it up with a well-deserved pizza party to celebrate all the hard work these students put in every day.

We can't wait for another semester together full of learning, laughter, and collaboration 🐾

✨ $15 Friday for Belle! ✨

Belle first came into our local animal services after her human sadly passed away. She grieved him so deeply that she shut down completely - no interest in food, no interest in life. She was so heartbroken that she had to be housed in the Executive Director’s office until a foster could be found.

Once she moved into a loving foster home and was able to grieve in a quiet, safe space, Belle slowly started to open up again. Her foster mama advocated for her every step of the way, and because of that, Belle got the chance to head to Pennsylvania on transport to find her new forever family. 💛

Before she could leave, Belle needed a lump removed and tested. It wasn’t the good kind… but thanks to the incredible team at Uptown Vet Clinic, the margins were clear, and Belle should have many happy, healthy years ahead.

Earlier this week we asked for help covering Tomlin’s surgery bill. Today, we’re asking for help covering Belle’s. Rescue doesn’t get to choose when the big medical cases come in, but we can choose to show up for them every way we can.

We’re asking everyone who reads this to consider donating $15 today. We need to raise $1,200 to fully cover Belle’s vet bill. Every dollar matters. Every share helps. Every donation makes rescue possible.

What a wonderful village to be a part of!

Meghan and I want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all our amazing fosters that stepped up this week. We were able to save 21 lives this week because of YOU! 21 lives that will be warm and loved for the holidays.

Also thank you to our amazing friends Animal SOS and McHenry County Animal Control & Adoption Center for helping us save these babies

It takes a village and with that village, this week our hearts are full! Now back to work! On to the next babies needing saving ❤️

They made it! 🎉

Renee & Linda just delivered 13 Georgia babies to some very excited families in Illinois! Through the night and through the snow, they made sure every pup arrived safe and sound. They are the best!!!

Saying yes to dogs like Tomlin sometimes also means saying yes to $1,400 vet bills.

And you know what? We accept our fate. These dogs deserve the world - even if it costs us half our bank account and three years off our life expectancy 😂

Tomlin needed knee surgery to be transport-ready, and obviously we weren’t going to tell him no - So now he’s got a brand-new knee…and we’ve got a brand-new bill!

💛 Your donations are the reason we can keep saying yes - even when we probably should be saying “hold on, let me check my wallet first.”

If you’re able, please toss a few dollars toward Tomlin’s surgery fund. His knee works great now. Ours? Buckling under financial pressure. 🐾💸

PS - Tomlin is already in PA on the hunt for his new family. His vet bill, however, he was kind enough to leave behind for us in GA 😉
