Animal SOS Animal SOS supports local rescues by helping with vet care and supporting fund raising efforts. We are an all volunteer group.

We also help senior and disabled citizens keep their pets, including providing low-cost spay/neuter. We provide transportation for seniors and rescues to areas inside the Columbus, Georgia area. Beginning in 2013, we are working with Columbus in their community cat program. We maintain a registry of colonies and their caregivers. This registry allows free roaming cats a chance to be returned and offers the caregivers opportunities for free and low-cost spay/neuters.

This “inmate” was recently booked for excessive cuteness and possession of stolen hearts. His prison stripes? Actually a post-surgery onesie.

Ten years ago, a born & raised Tennessee girl packed up her life and headed to Georgia for a fresh start. What she couldn’t have known was that her journey would become the lifeline for so many others - the countless companion animals who have found safety, love, and hope because of her.

For a decade now, Anna-Claire has fought for the voiceless, comforted the broken, and poured her heart into those who need it most. Because of her, lives are changing every day.

We loaded up 11 dogs in the Rescue Relay Transport Van just 2 days ago to head to their new families, and we are immediately ready to start saving more!

Arthur came into our local animal services building as a stray and was unfortunately never picked up by his family. He will be heading to Illinois on September 12th and needs somewhere to hang out until then! One of our sweet fosters who had a pup leave on Transport Thursday stepped up for Arthur the weekend so that we could go ahead and get him out of the shelter, but she is only able to hang onto him until Monday.

Can Arthur come hang out with you from Monday until September 12? Or even just for a few weeks of that time? Anything helps! Message us or comment if you’re interested.

🚐 Our second transport in the new Rescue Relay van is hitting the road tonight🐾

This time, 11 dogs are heading to New York and Pennsylvania - where foster/adoptive homes and rescue partners are ready to welcome them with open arms. Every single one of these pups came from our local stray facility, where they sat unclaimed and out of time.

We are working tirelessly for our local animals - the ones found right here in our community, the ones no one ever came for, the ones abandoned and left to fend for themselves. The ones that our community has failed. Those are the animals we are working day in and day out to save.

And we can’t do it without you.

Pippy needs your help 🐾

At around 7 years old, Pippy was found wondering the streets of Columbus alone. Someone found her and brought her into our local stray facility, hoping her owners would be out looking for her. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case, and her stray hold days quietly came and went without being claimed.

Our rescue partners saw her photo and immediately fell in love. They knew they needed to help get her on the road to a better life, and here at Animal SOS we are always happy to be the middle-man in making that a reality!

Now in the process of getting Pippy ready for transport, we are already $400 into her medical care. She also still needs a dental cleaning, probably some extractions, and to be spayed. We are looking at a minimum of $700 more!

We have 3 different programs that offer spay & neuter assistance to pet owners in our community! And if need financial assistance but don’t qualify for any of these, text us anyways - we will still try to find a way to help!

🐶Pit Fix is a program that provides free spay/neuter surgeries to ANY pitbull or pitbull mixed breed in Muscogee County, Harris County, and Russell County.

🐶🐱SNYP is an income-based program that provides free spay/neuter surgeries to qualifying families for any breed in Muscogee and Russell Counties.

🐶🐱We also have an owner support program for seniors, those who are permanently didabled, and veterans who need help caring for their pets, which includes spaying and neutering!
